We saw that they accept Passport America in their off season and thought we would give it a try despite the previous reviews, so we paid $50 for 2 nights. I would have had a hard time paying $50 per night, but at 1/2 price it was in our budget. It was pretty much a ghost town while we were there midweek before the campground closed. It looked like 75% of the sites are seasonal and very few were actually living there. A "local" seasonal person said that most people leave their RV's there over the winter. I can certainly imagine how crazy it must be in the summer! We had a site that did not include sewer and we needed to dump before we parked. The dump station is made to use as you leave the park, so it was a bit of a challenge to get turned around. Some sites would have been tough to get our 38' 5th wheel into due to trees and other obstacles. The sites toward the water were more spacious, but then you are pretty close to the road. It's a tired park, but it did suit our needs. The office staff was friendly. The restrooms were locked that were nearest to our site. If you were going to come and go they give you a gate key with a $20 deposit. The camp store was pretty stocked, fuel, laundry room, picnic table, fire pit. The pool and game room were closed since they were getting ready to shut the park down.

2.5 stars is the right amount for this campground. Location was great if you want to hike, be on the lake, go to the state park, etc. Bathrooms were some of the grossest I've ever seen. Staff was also just ok. Not rude, but also not helpful. Every time it felt like you were inconveniencing them. Nice there is gas and a store on site. Half of the park is seasonal, and there are things everywhere. Lots of kids which is fun, but also can be a bit much when everyone is riding their bike when you're trying to back in a camper. Not a bad spot if you're in a pinch, but definitely not our first choice if we were in the area again. We were able to get ATT service with our cell booster, but without that you don't get much o

The place was packed and understaffed. Almost all kids activities were canceled. It was loud and rowdy. Restrooms were filthy. Git so bad we cut our 7 night trip short by 2 nights. Seems as if owners stopped caring about the place.

We stayed for the week of July 4th & it was a little crazy for our taste. Overall we had a positive experience. Our site was plenty big with nice shade trees and great location for access to the beach. Covid note - no one had masks at all or observed social distancing. They had a dance party and live band. Some of the staff in the store had masks intermittently.

Been going to Lake Dunmore Kamperville every 3-5 years over the last 25 years. Usually stay for a week. Plenty to do in and around Lake Dunmore area. It is a fairly active campground, with many planned activities like Shuffleboard or Horseshoe tournament, wagon rides, arts & crafts.... just about everyday. Bingo used to also be run 6 days a week, but our last visit (Aug 2015) it was cut to 3 days a week. They have a pool area that is divided into 3 walled off sections. It seems to be the center of activities. 5 years ago they had just installed a feature by the pool that shoots jets of water in the air for the kids to run thru. It was out of service then (2010), and also it appears to be in non-working order this year too. Too bad because kids would have a ball running thru the jets of water. Since 2010 and our visit in Aug. 2015 the management has tried to make it more of a family campground. It seems about 30-40 seasonal sites have been eliminated. They used to have teen dances on the weekends that were rather rowdy. I think that was the reason there are now less seasonal campers. This past visit, there was a DJ with more of a "family" type dance. It did seem to be a little less rowdy, especially on the weekends. Most are full service sites, but some are still water & electric. That kind of brings up a issue that the single (hole) dump station is located in a funny location right in the way of the main campground road. The sites for the most part are level and of average or larger sized. 90% are full shade. Even 45' RV's would have no problem fitting into some of the sites. The lake ( Lake Dunmore) is across the street from one section of the campground. 3G Verizon coverage, but free WiFi at the rec hall and front office areas. Most of the time the WiFi at the rec hall was very weak because of too many users. Over the last 25 years not much has been done to update the beach area. There is a older wooden playground pirate ship the kids used to be able to go in and climb on. It's in dis-repair and boarded up. There are picnic tables along one side, but look very un-inviting. This area of lakefront is a gem, but because of years of neglect or no improvements, it gets under used. Too bad...Nice clear water, beautiful mountain views. This is kind of a theme throughout the campground. It needs more attention to daily upkeep. They have 3 shower buildings, none seem to be very modern.
