Pleasant, extended, well grassed flats by the Glenelg River.
Good shade from River Red Gums. Rating 4.18/5 Jetty Major Mitchell established a base camp here while taking his boats down the Glenelg. Thus the common name Fort 0'Hare. Now a popular canoe launching point. Thanks to Dominique for the following updates (June 2014) Fantastic camping area! New toilet facilities available but no tap water. Shire currently removing cypress trees and burning them off but plenty of space available on the upper level of the flats. Despite the rain, caravans can be easily parked and the supplied table and bench seats can be carried to a more convenient location for your use. Kids really enjoyed themselves and were easily entertained by the fishing and exploring the historical nature of the town by cycling.
