An exceptional park offering a multitude of activities. It includes camping, angling, sailing, paddling, swimming, and trekking paths. Although some camping spots may be compact, the park is generally fantastic.

The campground is large with hundreds of sites. The back-in sites are tight and close together. The pull thru sites give you a much longer space with plenty of room for even big rigs but no more privacy between sites. The campground and restrooms/showers are well maintained. The best reason for coming here are the many things to do; boating, beach, ferry trips to two islands and proximity to Cedar point to name a few.

Overall, its a clean, well maintained state park. The sites are mostly level. There's a mix of full hookup, electric only, dry camping and tent only sites. There are restrooms buildings scattered about. They're older, but well maintained. This is a smaller park that doesn't offer some of the amenties seen in larger parks. There is a nice Lake Erie beach a short distance from the campground. The water there is sheltered from the lake by several rock jetties about 200 yards out. The swimming area is generally shallow - three feet or less. So its great for kids. You can bike or hike the park. But again, you won't find extensive biking or hiking trails. The park advertises a disc golf course. But we could find only one "hole." We never did find the rest of the disc golf course. All in allm we would camp there again.

This place is a mad house. The sites are super close together like an RV park and no rules are enforced or followed whatsoever. I’ve never in my entire life had so many people cut through my already minuscule site. Kids would ride their bikes right through while we were sitting by the fire. Even adults would walk through with no regard. My neighbor even parked halfway in my yard and put his camp sign in my yard. It wasn’t just my site but all sites that were a free for all. The laundry room is terrible and covered in mayflies like something out of a horror movie. Definitely hasn’t been cleaned in years. Total madness. I gave two stars instead of one because I did like the bike paths to the shore area which was quiet during the mornings unlike camp chaos. However, the beach area leaves a lot to be desired and is also covered in dead fish and mayflies. I did get 2-3 bars of Verizon so that was a plus.

First time visiting the area and found East Harbor to be a great location for checking out Port Clinton and Put In Bay. We had to move sites after 2 nights to be able to stay as long as we wanted but it was worth the inconvenience. The park was packed and everyone was having a great time. Both sites were pull thru with plenty of room for the toad. Short trip to either ferry for a day trip to Put In Bay and Port Clinton was 5 minutes or less. A nice drive out to Marblehead Lighthouse is a must do while there. The showers were cleaner earlier in the day and if you were close to them many folks would short cut through your campsite. The beach area was great and the dog friendly beach will give you and the pups a workout to get there but it’s worth it. We would definitely return when back in the area.

Don't bother trying to check in before 3pm, you'll get put in state park jail by a rude, angry check in person. Our site was empty, cleaned and ready but we STILL had to wait from 1:20 to 3pm to get out of jail and go to the site. LAME.

Nice size spaces in B loop- very busy on the weekends. Nice store and easy to purchase wood for campfires. Relatively level camp sites but narrow paved parking spots with no vehicles allowed to be on the grass. Minimal visitor parking near campsites. Short drive down to the lakeside area, with beautiful views of Erie. Lots of hiking and biking trails. Park is well maintained- I saw B loop being taken care of twice a week while I was here. Very convenient to town- gas, groceries and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Great location. Port Clinton within a couple miles. Great fishing in state park. All employees were friendly and helpful. Sites all paved and level. Bath and shower clean and central location.

We stayed at East Harbor from July 1st to July 5th 2021. The campground was clean and well maintained. Spaces are not angled, and are pretty short, so they would have been challenging to back into if we had a larger trailer or if we had arrived on a busy Friday. Vehicles were parked on the roads and in the grass because the sites are so short that there isnt room to park properly on the paved pad with your trailer. The site was paved and level and included a fire ring and picnic table. There were not many trees in our part of the campground, and it was a bit more like a parking lot than I would have liked, but it served as a great base while we explored Put In Bay, Marblehead Lighthouse, and a few other local attractions. Check in was completely contactless – the tag for our truck was on the power box when we arrived, and we didn’t see any campground staff the entire time we were there. We didn’t utilize any of the campground facilities (bath house, restrooms, etc) so we have no info on those. The potable water station and the dump station were both clean and working properly. We would absolutely visit this campground again. Even though we didn’t see staff, it was a busy holiday weekend and the campground was running smoothly with no issues, so I’m sure they were there.

Glad we opted for the popup tent area as the rv side was packed. There is zero rules enforced, there are multiple vehicles in the site with the camper and often times a boat. There is zero space between the trailers and with the extra vehicles boats, tents bikes there is very little space left. The roads are often blocked. There is a parking lot for boat and excess vehicles. Our site was not very level, too all of our leveling blocks to get it level front to back. we did not have power or water hook ups so I cannot review those. The shower house was clean and water was warm, it had an ultra low flow shower head on it so that was bad. The restrooms were clean and fairly old but in good working order. The dump station was a disaster on sunday morning. Rude campers, one guy in a class a flushed his tanks for nearly an hour, while there was a line 20 deep waiting. we waited in line and dumped and he was still flushing his tanks.
