We reached post working hours, yet we received a warm reception. The administrators unlocked the premises and we managed to secure accommodation for two nights without prior booking. The motorhome park is impeccably tidy and superbly kept. It provides restrooms and laundry facilities at two spots, a swimming pool, a spa, and all these amenities are available with beach entry across the Termini-San Luis Pass Road.

Having viewed the stunning photos and shelled out $70, I anticipated a luxury site. How disheartening! The attractive foliage provides cover for permanent dwellers, some living in dilapidated mobile homes with their belongings scattered around. This seems to be the norm for many mobile home parks across the US nowadays. Take a look at the actual images shared. Our spot was at the rear on a concrete surface (luckily), but devoid of any trees. The restrooms, however, were quite impressive. I wouldn't consider returning to this place at that rate!

Rate reflects 10% discount (AAA), cheapest site option (back in) Pros: - clean, new bathrooms - new washers and dryers - level, long sites - friendly staff, both in person and over the phone - professional reservation experience Cons: - lots of traffic noise from Stewart Rd; on MLK Monday morning I counted 11 heavy trucks in 10 minutes (you hear and feel them thunder by from inside your rig); I would recommend a site somewhere in the middle of the park to try to avoid the traffic noise - laundry located in women's and men's bathrooms (not convenient if two people of different genders are sharing the duties; not fun to be in the bathroom waiting for your load to finish; half the machines not accessible at any given time as you have to stick to your gender) - no cable (but could get all the basic channels over the air) - park is still working on its "phase II" of construction; will probably be a lot better once everything is in place and the palm trees get a bit more lush!

We were some of the first to stay at Stella Mare last fall, and to be honest, we would do better to come back and look at again. Much was under construction when we stayed, but we had an event to attend, and Galveston was invaded by 500,000 motorcycles for the Lone Star Bike Rally that weekend, so we were happy to have a place to stay. Some amenities were still under construction, but we weren't at all inconvenienced. The reservation system was easy to work with, and check-in was painless. The park is very nicely done, with large, level, sites and easy access. Even on the bike weekend, there was very little noise. Management is friendly, and the campground hosts are always available to lend a hand. There is a large pool and deck close by that has a view of the Gulf, and if you're a beach person, beach access is right across the highway. We'll come back next year and give it a better look, but we enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, quite, well maintained park. Check in was easy. Was taken straight to site location first. After we set up, we checked in at office. Large pool and activities around the park for family. Observation deck overlooked beach and sunsets. You can walk or drive across street to the beach. Back side of park is on the bay side. So you can fish from the pier. This is humid Galveston. Bring some fire ant graduals. A fire ant mound may pop up in the grass. Also some mosquito spray is necessary outside after dark sometimes. Best thing is the park location. Its close to the sea wall, but far enough away there's not as much traffic. We will be back.

The staff that works here is top notch. The sites are very close together and zero privacy. But with the amenities and proximity to the beach, we'd probably stay here again.

We stayed here as a quick overnight stop from the Florida Panhandle to South Padre Island. We arrived after hours and easily made it to our pull-through site. The campground seemed fine, nothing special. However, even though we pre-paid, they wanted us to check in at the office the next morning. The office is a tiny trailer - inside were five employees with no masks. I was annoyed they didn’t seem to care that I was uncomfortable.

Rate reflected is weekly rate. We arrived around dark and were greeted at the stop sign, given an information packet, and escorted to our site. Hookups were easy. Transitions from road to site were abrupt. Our neighbors were long-termers and were really noisy, but that's not the resort's fault. Lots of people doing maintenance, washing vehicles, and building things at their sites, kindof surprising for a resort. The clubhouse has a beautiful deck and is up high. The bathrooms are up there and there is a laundry room in each bathroom. I've never been a fan of that because if I need hubby to grab the laundry, he can't when it's in the ladies room. In our case here, he had to do the laundry in the mens room because the ladies room laundry was always busy. Tried to use the elevator to take the laundry up but couldn't figure out how to get it to work, so had to haul it up all.those.stairs. The big playground was great, especially for our older boys. It's hard to find playgrounds that have equipment for older kids. The pool was not heated and was absolutely freezing, but beautiful. The hot tub was disgusting with a foul odor when we first arrived, but the next day was clean with people enjoying it. After seeing (and smelling) it the day before, we weren't going to risk it. A splash pad is being built and they broke ground while we were there. It should be nice when done. Nice location on Galveston Island. Out of town, so very quiet. Not really anything to do within walking distance, a burger joint and a bar is all. Galveston Island State Park is a few miles away and offers beachcombing, kayaking, and bird watching. The beach has several public access points with paid parking. Galveston is a few miles away and has everything you need. Lots of good places to eat. Definitely try The Mosquito Cafe and sister bakery Patty Cakes. The lemonade cake is to die for. Take the short, free ferry to Port Boliver and keep an eye out for dolphins. Go over to Pelican Island to see the submarine and the sunken ship. Houston and Space Center Houston are just an hour or so away. Stop at Buc-ee's to and from for a refreshing drink and snack.

My family and I are full time RVers. We stayed here for a period of 5 months and this is what we have to say. First off lets pin point the good things. It is in a great location, has a beautiful pool and playground, and is well maintained. Now for the bad list. The WiFi is horrible. We had to use our hotspot on our cell phones most of the time and even paying for an upgrade did not help. There is no cable. The spots are too close together unless you pay top dollar for premier sites (which are the only ones with picnic tables btw). As far as the bathrooms I found that the hot water did not last long and that the code would change and not be told what it was. Most of the staff are rude and inconsiderate. They pick and choose who they get onto. If you are a weekender then its fine but full time lets hope you fit into their "click". We had complaints of my dogs barking when it was their crew circling my trailer looking for poop causing them to bark when we were not at home. We were accused of not cleaning up our dogs poop when the 6 trailers around mine all shared a common area. One of the staff actually told us there was a watch list for certain spaces that they were told to keep a special eye on. When I purchased my new travel trailer I was coerced into moving it into a spot across the park from where I was at. After living in the spot for 3 weeks I caught the neighbor, who was a work camper, taking pics of my dog, rv, kids and surrounding area. When I confronted the office about the peeping tom worker I was told that he was told to do so by the staff and that we were not a "good fit" for their resort and needed to leave. I have always been very polite and tried working with them on multiple occasions and just felt like I was being "picked on". I will never stay in this park again and will warn everyone I know to stay away unless you're only in for a weekend.

We usually stay at city, county and state parks so Stella Mare was quite the treat for us! The sites are pretty narrow, so we didn't have space to put our awning out or sit on the side of our trailer. The hot tub was fabulous and well maintained. We were on the back row of the property and the road noise was pretty bad, but nothing ear plugs couldn't fix. Be sure to bring carrots to feed the horses at the property next door. :)

So much to say. Sites are paved and well maintained. Right across the main road from the ocean. Staff was super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Playground and splash pad for kids. Ours loves them. Pool and hot tub clean. Community room hosts almost daily activities from poker to essential oil classes. Donuts and coffee on Sunday. I could go on. We originally didn’t want to spend the $$ but now we are glad we did. We will definitely be back!

The park grounds and staff are awesome. They are all very friendly, and grounds are immaculate. Site was fine, 25 was a back in next the the horse pasture. I didn’t see a bad site in the place, and all are more than long enough for even the biggest rigs. Utilities all were fine. Park is a little further away form all the island stuff, but it is fine. Traffics was a little annoying at times. The issues: 1) In 2019, yes we expect acceptable WiFi. The WiFi was an absolute mess. It did work for a few minutes at a time, but then would drop out. The parks answer was “Call the provider” which is Tengo, who as completely useless. These issues are not endpoint issues, they are network engineered to small for the application issues. Sorry, but some of us do have to work while we travel, and we can’t all just get away with cellular internet... 2) Bathroom Design: There are two bath houses, both with similar design. They are kept very clean, and are fairly new (as it most of the park). Both bath houses also have laundry in both the Men’s and Women’s restrooms. The issue is the very “Exposed” design. The back restrooms had 2 showers, one handicapped accessible, the other a standard shower stall, then a small changing area, quite a ways form the showers. The front one had 2 additional showers and a larger curtained off changing area. In either case, I am just not much of an exhibitionist... Again, 2019, this park is barely a couple years old, the people who designed the bathrooms clearly never used a public shower... Why wouldn’t you just make multiple single stall “who cares what gender” bathrooms and be done with it? And why would you put laundry in 4 places? Make one big laundry room... Just a stupid design all around. Fix those 2 things, and I’d give them 5 stars....

Stella Mare RV Resort was very nice. Everything was easy to access, everything was clean, and the pool and splash pad were great for the kids. I did a video which you can see below.

This rv resort is awesome except for the mosquitoes but you figure that out quickly:) Our site is one of the best ones, it is a back in site concrete pad and when we dropped our patio it faced a huge lawn area, we could see the Gulf of Mexico in the distance and we were close to the jacuzzi and the pool. We had nobody on one side. There is a campground right on the beach that we saw but we were happy with Stella Mare because we did get some weather and the way site 81 is angled we never got hit by the wind sideways. The wind was either coming from our tail or the nose. All the sites here are big and very well spaced. The facilities are super clean. The price we paid was a monthly rate and it included electricity. The wifi was acceptable but you could pay if you needed something more dependable but we never had any issues. They pick up your trash from 8am-4pm. The Galveston State Park is minutes away and a great place to kayak. The beach access is also just across the street and you can drive on the beach. Don't expect, white sand, it is a beige, compact beach with lots of seashells and it is very clean. Restaurants are pretty close about 10 minutes away. Road cycling is fairly easy to maneuver the roads but don't expect any hills it is a flat ride. You must visit the East Beach and walk the jetty and watch the huge ships come in!! The staff is very friendly and professional. If we ever come back to Galveston we will stay here.

Beautiful RV Resort. Clean and sterile, but not for us. the sites are very close to one another. So close that I thought my neighbor's awning was going to hit our RV. That's a little bit too close for us. Very little space on the side of the RV to relax. This is NOT a beach-side RV resort. You have to drive across the highway to get to the beach. I gave it a 4-star rating based on how clean this place was and the amenities that it has.

The resort was very nice. Concrete pads. Most of the sites are HUGE pull thrus. Just a short golf cart ride across the highway to the beach. The pool was beautiful and facilities were clean and very nice. They pick up your trash for you, and all the maintenance staff was super friendly. My biggest complaint is the mosquitos. No fault to the RV resort of course, but they were the worst I have ever encountered before. My whole family is covered head to toe in bites. It made it extremely unenjoyable to be outside.

Stella Mare comes as close to perfect as we’ve gotten. Well organized and run extremely well, an employee meets arrivals and guides to the appropriate site and helps the driver park, highlighting the site amenities. Stella Mare provides the absolute cleanest, well-maintained power, water, and sewer hookups. The sites aren’t huge but we've been in much smaller. The grass is lovely but don’t go barefoot! This close to the beach, one is bound to step on a coclebur — these spiny little seeds that hurt when stepped on. Also expect them in the fur of pets. While the beach is sort of across the road, it’s not really walking distance. That’s one reason why Stella Mare doesn’t quite earn a perfect 5-star rating. This park is not far from the commercial area of Galveston Island and all of the fun stuff. We love this place and look forward to returning.

This place was amazing. Sites were well groomed. Loved having grass and the concrete slab. We didn’t use the facilities so I can’t comment on if they were clean or not. We walked to the gulf, rode our bikes. I do think they need to rethink the trash disposal. You are asked to place it outside and that it will be picked up. Well while the trash is sitting there the birds are attacking the bag and taking the trash out. The people collecting it don’t mind it at all. Other than that this place was perfect! We stayed here in January so no issues with bugs at all!!
