Following a challenging journey through Orlando's congestion, I had anticipated a pleasant location... however, this area is significantly rundown.

The elite sites have pull-through concrete slabs. Nice Palm trees, and the laundry facility is top-notch. The pool is clean, and the campground is very secure 24x7. Close to Disney resorts as well. Avoid the back section where full-timers dwell. It's not as nice for various reasons.

Conveniently located near Disney and many other Orlando area attractions, it is also surrounded by many restaurants, and near main roads. Personnel is very friendly and caring, they make their customers their first priority, and also keep the grounds in excellent shape, as it is also the case for all recreational facilities. I stayed in a full hook-up site, everything worked well, I had a concrete picnic area with a table. The sites are about the right size, I do have a comfortable 22 ft TT. Check in and check out was very fast, they have several reps to keep waiting time shortest possible. I liked the location, it is out of the craziness of International Drive, but not too far either in case that you want to also be part of that evening movement. In my short stay I did not experience any problems.

Pros: - only stayed here for a night, and got in at dark, but seemed to have good amenities Cons: - Tight, tight, tight! Tight driveways and corners. Tight pads. We drive a 40ft Class and if someone parks there car slightly into the driveway area, makes getting in and out of your spot hairy. - No free WiFi. And we had no cell service. You could buy WiFi through third party, but seemed like a hassle. Just another way the Orlando complex makes money. - Trees not trimmed. My biggest pet peeve for an RV park is when they don’t trim their tree limbs. We’re at 13’ and hit a few tree limbs driving to our spot - Muddy! Not their fault entirely since it’s Florida and it was raining all day. But it was a mess setting up. - Expensive. It was a Wannabe Disney Wilderness and for the price, I wouldn’t stay here again. Maybe all Orlando RV parks are like this because they can gouge you. But I’ll take my chances elsewhere.

I am not a negative person and not one to start drama because I hate confrontation. So I’m not writing this for that, only to warn people what to expect. This campground is nice and conveniently located to all things Disney. However, I am super disappointed with the whole thousand trails/encore company. Our truck broke down on the way to Florida and we had to be in the area for my husbands job. We had tried to get an RV site but there was nothing so we booked a cabin in an encore property (2 hrs away from his job). We shortened our stay from 3 months to 2, paid an insane amount of money and all was good. We have been here a month already and the office called and said they did an “audit” on our account and we now owe them almost $1000 because they “accidentally” gave us the wrong rate. They were “sorry for the inconvenience.” So now we’re out 6K total to stay in a cabin that is sub par at best. We have tried multiple times to speak to a manager but they are always conveniently never around. And when I finally got in touch, they hung up on me. I am sorry to even say anything and it is not like me but the customer service and the runaround we’ve been given is not okay. It’s just not right. This is not the first time this has happened. Every time is a headache. Thousand trails is such an amazing tool for families on the road but needs a major overhaul in how it is ran. If you read this far thank you. If you’re looking at thousand trails to strictly save money then it’s fine, but if you want good customer service, morals, a good experience, and quality then it may not be for you.

You can order WiFi for $20/week from Fastwave but the front desk said it was spotty so we relied on Verizon which was only 2 bars and less than 5 MBS. I can hear the freeway at night but it’s tolerable and most campers are very quiet. The LOCATION is the main benefit since it is close to all the Disney parks. It’s packed in tight but there are some trees yo look at. I think you can pay extra to have a concert pad site.when I called to reserve I was not offered a choice. You are not allowed yo pick your site ahead of time. It feels safe with a 24/7 security at the front and a card to lift the crossing arm.

2/26/21 Not too far from Disney and close to several retail locations. The park is rather flat and great for bikes. There is a lovely area that is non-sewer pull through sites that make up a small part of the park and they have free honey wagon service during the season. Otherwise the rest of the park is FHU and the rumor that they put all Thousand Trails users in the non-sewer area is bogus... we've never ended up in the non-sewer area nor had a problem reserving a site... not that we'd mind the non-sewer sites, because they are nice looking sites with more room than a lot of the sites near the front of the park. The pool is nice and the laundry facilities are very well done. This is really a nice place to be during the winter months. The WiFi is decent and Verizon is less then passable. In fact, something is going on right now as Verizon was better a few weeks ago but for the past day has been hanging around 2mb down and less than 1mb up. It's 6:30 am, well within the typical window of best internet speeds before the world gets going. AT&T is at 108mb down and 21mb up. If AT&T ever offered hot spot data for a price that wouldn't break the bank, I'd get a modem the same day. I'm sorry to say that Verizon is becoming a sad joke and I hope they get their stuff together soon. If you have satellite, you'll love this park as most sites have clear open sky. They receive packages here for you, but like many Thousand Trails campgrounds are now doing, they charge $5 a package. 3/30/21 - site 358 Back again and Verizon is really throttling the hot spot at 4:45pm with 0.3 down / 0.6 up. AT&T 33 down and 8 up. Verizon iPad is 3.5 / 0.63 The WiFi is kind of hit and miss... it's usually good to excellent but sometimes it just drops out for a while. Longest drop that I've experienced was about an hour. Occasionally the speed stinks but, like I said, it's usually pretty good. It's a bit of a stretch for $20 a week, but if you don't have a choice, you have to pay it.

Great location, super close to Orlando area attractions. Restaurants, stores and fun within a short drive. Amenities well maintained and accessible via electronic key you get when you arrive. Cute tiny homes and RV sites either in a separate area or in between the tiny homes. Gated entrance, with guard 24 hours. I wish all sites had trees/shades, but overall is a great place to stay when visiting Orlando parks.

Only the pool was open at 50% capacity due to Covid-19, but I can see this must be a bustling place when open fully. Very family friendly, with kiddie pool, playground, etc. Bath houses are clean and modern. Saw lots of wildlife, including ducks, turtles, squirrels, and a baby alligator. Quiet at night except for a chorus of frogs. Very close to restaurants, shopping, and tourist stuff. The only drawback was the water. It came out of the tap so cloudy, I didn’t want to drink it.

We've got a Trails Collection membership, that's why the night rate is so low. Tropical Palms RV Resort is a part of the Encore campgrounds system and it's one of our favorites! Definitely number one for us in Florida, even if they give only no-sewer sites for Thousand Trails members during high season. Other than that it's a very neat, clean, nice campground, with a nice warm pool and many activities happening. I've made a short video review: https://youtu.be/7uOKtnPFCUE

We stayed here because Fort Wilderness was full. The park is surrounded by kitschy souvenir shops wrapped in bald eagle murals, Machine Gun America (the "Orlando Shooting Attraction") and the carnival rides of Old Town. The park has a retiree vibe and my toddler was happy to swim in the tiki-themed pool with elderly snowbirds. We visited Celebration, just down the road. It's a curious place and filled an afternoon. All the Disney Parks and Disney Springs are a 15 minute drive. I really prefer Fort Wilderness for a million reasons, but this place a welcome respite from its surround and is fine if you don't mind being outside of the Disney Bubble.

We normally stay at Ft Wilderness while in Orlando, but they were full. This is a great alternative, clean, friendly, quiet. Good WiFi service; cell was 'ok.'

It's in the heart of Kissimmiee so it is pretty close to Disney - 10 miles or so. Sites are very close together and was pretty full. The premium sites were concrete and pretty long. In the heart of everything so all is close by. Old Town and the Fun Spot is walking distance. A fair amount of noise early till late because of the proximity to everything. Staff was nice and helpful. Bathrooms were in fair shape. Lots of people coming and going all the time. ATT worked god as did the park wifi. Roads were all paved but many were very thin so be aware of this. Satellite could be a problem depending which site you are in as there are a number of trees.

This park was a perfect place to be right outside Orlando and close to Disney and all the other activities in the area. It is right behind Old Town as well. We did go to Legoland while here and it was about 1 hour drive. We did not go to the beach, but I think it would take 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic. During Christmas / New Years time it was really busy and the area nearby had a ton of traffic, but that is a bit to be expected in this area. Getting here was not so bad except that some highways had construction. We were in the section of pull thru FHU spots in the middle of the park that are really nice, concrete pad with extra space on each side. Our spot was a bit tough to get in because of the location of the palm tree and the size of our RV, but not a big deal. Some of the spots in the back of the park were larger but not concrete. Tradeoffs... Almost every day of the week they had activities and on the weekend there was a DJ and all kinds of stuff at the pool. Some of the bath houses were under construction or had problems while we were here, but I think that is because of the high use of the park - the good news is they were constantly working on things - this park is in great condition. Because of proximity to Old Town and Disney, there was noise at night time (nothing crazy, but we could hear things) and the fireworks bothered our dog. We will almost certainly stay here again when we come to the area!
