This is a popular swimming and picnic area not far from Briagolong in Briagolong State ForestThere are large shady campsites, a sheltered picnic area and rubbish bins provided. The creek near here is fairly shallow but the water is cool and clear and suitable for (supervised) children to swim in.

Stevensons Falls Campground

Barramunga , Victoria

Very pleasant valley camp by the small Gellibrand River. About half the sites are well shaded by groves of different furs, other sites are open with a scattering of oaks, pears, plums and apples. All sites level, well grassed (mown by kangaroos). Dogs on leads. Rated at 4.

A reasonably pleasant camp located on the forested northern slopes of the Great Dividing Range. An old house and historic arboretum site by a large dam. The fenced day area (6 BBQs, benches and shelter) features a range of exotics , wallaby mown lawns and overlooks a large dam.

On the banks of the Yea River, this campsite offers a pleasant, shaded and well maintained area to spend a night. The campground is on the cricket oval, with a pitch in the middle of the oval.

Ada River Campground

Quiet and shady campsite alongside the Ada River. Surrounded by ferns and tall gum trees, this is a very attractive site with open, well grassed sites. The Ada River is really just a creek here, but it runs clear and is nice to cool off in on a hot day. Thanks to Peter for the following updates.

Point Leo Foreshore Reserve Campground

Point Leo , Victoria

With over 165 campsites to choose from, this large camping area is on the south eastern side of the Mornington Peninsula. The area is very busy during summer, so don't forget to book to avoid missing a spot. The reserve has a very active committee dedicated to preserving and improving the area.

Beauchamp Falls Reserve Campground

Beech Forest , Victoria

This is a small grassy and shaded campground in the northern section of Great Otway National ParkThere is a great little walk that leads to the waterfall and creek (about 3km and 3hours return). The walk itself is quite steep, and unfortunately you can't actually swim in the pool at the bottom.

A relatively pleasant, extended, level gully between dunes, grassed (short) with some shade from Manna Gum and banksia, surrounded by bush covered dunes which provide protection from winds. The most pleasant camp at this end of the Ninety Mile Beach. 1 table and BBQ. Rated 3.

A very pleasant green grassed (slashed) creek flat in the steep gully of the bubbling Turtons Creek, below the falls. Shaded by tall Mountain Ash Gums, blackwood and tree ferns. Regeneration plantings will improve shade and privacy. Surrounded by steep forested hills.

Set among ferns, and eucalypt forest with dense understory, this is a beautiful spot with excellent facilities. There are 18 individual campsites well separated by the native vegetation and picnic tables with wood barbecue / fireplaces.

A beautiful camping area with no facilities on a straight section of the Murray. There is a beach here, and being wide and flat, it is a great spot for swimming. The water is slower and shallower than other areas of the river.

This is a well maintained and formalised campground right on the ocean in Great Otway National ParkThere are 22 individual sites and a day use area. There is water available, a communal fireplace and a boat launching area. All this within a stones throw of the Bass Straight.

A nice open camp area on the banks of the Campaspe River near Rochester and Elmore in Victoria. Not too far from Bendigo/Axedale. A great spot to get away for 1 or 2 nights through to a week away. This is a very open area with some large mature eucalypts.
