Dispersed camping on broad beaches by the Murray River, surrounded by flood plain forest - River Red Gums, billabongs and swamps. Prolific bird life. Distant, background highway noise. Forges No 1 Beach is broad and large, partially grassed with WC, but open with little shade.
Paddys River , New South Wales
An open grassed area beside the Tumbarumba–Tooma Rd, 18 km south of Tumbarumba. You can swim and fish here; and in the area mountain bike and bushwalk. Bring your own firewood. When reviewed (Jan 2015), it was packed with all types of vehicles, so it is popular.

A large level reserve by the Shoalhaven River (old ford and bridge site). Reasonably well shaded by an open woodland of mature Manna Gums and Poplars, with some grassed clearings. New WC and two sheltered tables and BBQs plus 3 older BBQs scattered through the trees.

Suitable for and overnighter caravan stop in Bathurst. Near the highway, so is a bit noisy but overnight camping is permitted. Could be handy if you need somewhere to park a big rig for a day or two. There are toilets and water in the park as well as picnic tables.

In the midst of an abandoned oil-shale mine town, surrounded by the Capertee Gorge. This is an attractive and easily accessed campground suitable for anything from a big rigs to a tent. There are toilets, undercover picnic tables and potable water available.
