Upon arrival at 1:10, there was a sign in the window saying "be back at 1:30". After waiting until 1:40 we checked in and were given a full hook up site. (see photo). Our site had my camper door 20 feet from 2 dump stations that stunk and had attracted 100's of flys. (see photo). On the other side of us, about 30 yards away was a busy interstate with a bridge under costruction. (see photo). The traffic vibration was literally rattling the windows in my camper, especially when the 18 wheelers went over the bridge. As our luck goes, most of the big trucks traveled at night. All night! The "regulars" that were there did not care about the quiet time after 10:00 pm. In hindsight, That's probably why they were there.

A really lovely park run by nice people. Big lawns, sites good size, mostly or all on grass, needed some leveling. Located very near a highway. Do NOT go down River St. from Bernardston to get there - the bridge has 11 foot clearance. Play area, dog area (not fully fenced), cheap laundry, clean bathrooms, indoor meeting room. Small store. My only gripe is the hookups. Unless you have longer than normal hoses and cables, you can't hook up to sewer, water and electric all at the same time. I had to use an extension cord and my water would not reach with a 25-foot hose. They do offer a service where they dump your tank for you on Mondays for a few dollars, or free if you stay a week or longer. $25 to use dump station if you are not a guest, so you might as well stay over.

This private campground is just off I91, making it very convenient for those traveling through the area. Bernardston is not much of a tourist destination, save for the nearby Northfield Creamie (YUM!), but the location is well situated as a jumping off point to explore Northampton, Amherst, Brattleboro, VT, Shelburne Falls, and other western Mass sites. The campground is on two levels, and I recommend asking for a riverside site on the lower level, such as where we are. I can't hear the highway. It's very quiet. Other than at perimeter sites there aren't many trees. Spacing is adequate, and each site has a fire ring and picnic table. The price above reflects a weekly rate of $125, in September. The public rest rooms are VERY CLEAN. Management was very friendly. Pretty good wifi as campgrounds go. It seems a high percentage of their business is from folks who leave their trailers or fifth wheels here all summer and visit them occasionally, so the campground seems full, but only about half of the units here have an accompanying vehicle and are dark inside. Water and electric at the site. There is a dump station, and for longer stays like ours there is a honey wagon that makes rounds on Friday for $4.

This was the perfect overnight stop for us! The grounds are beautiful, complete with a little creek beside the office. They run a tight ship and it shows! Check-in and parking was easy and they provide an escort to your site. One possible downside for light-sleepers is the proximity to the interstate. It didn't bother us though! The town of Turner Falls nearby has lots of cute restaurants and a nice downtown. The view from the bridge/dam is beautiful. We could see spending a couple more days exploring the area! As mentioned in the other review, check the website for direction if your rig is taller than 11'!

This was a one-night stop for us on a travel day heading from NY to ME, heading north from the Springfield area. The place was a gem of a find. Reasonably priced, safe and comfy and very welcoming on a long travel day. We would stay here again for several days to explore the western side of MA, if in the area again. We had a pull through site with generous space. This is a much larger campground than we expected. The Yankee candle shop is near by...and apparently there is an amazing pizza shop close by, however we did not get to experience that. My son did find hours of pleasure fishing on the creek that runs through the campground. Be sure to follow the direction on the website or via Good Sam, as there is a low bridge somewhere near the park. We were able to pull up with no reservations at the end of August, however they do host very large rally's and experience blocks of full occupancy. This is actually a large property and we were thrilled to have discovered it! Did I mention how great the price is?! Laundry facility on site.
