I gave this 3 stars because of the bathroom. One bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 showers for 57 campsites. Not very clean and I could not change the water temperature, therefore had a very hot shower in 100 degree temperatures ! They could at least have a big fan in there for air movement! Also lots of bugs. Everything else is nice in this campground. I was given the senior discount when checking in by a very friendly woman. The large sites are all nice, gravel and mostly level , and spaced nicely.

We stayed here for 4 nights and our site (30) was right on the lake. The sites are fairly well spread out and the bathrooms are clean. Both T-Mobile and Verizon signal was strong and speeds were great. We will definitely stay here again.

No one has reviewed this campground in over a year. In researching and trying to make reservations... - I found the reservation process tedious, confusing and time consuming. Took me about 30 mins to figure it out. You have to register on the website, confirm your reservation thru email before you can even access the camping reservations. Once there, there are no maps, no pictures to show you what's available or specs for each site. You have to guess which one to take and only after that are you given a map, which is messy. Again, no specs to know if your vehicle will even fit the site. No senior discounts. And only when you have exhausted every possible form to fill out, right before you pay, are you told its $35 + 3.07 tax.

Sites are gravel and level. Nice bathhouse with warm showers. Plenty of trees and shade. Some daytime noise from nearby airports.

Our site was right on the water near back of campground. Very level and lots of grass area towards the water. Several tents could have fit out there. Side has fire put and grill. You can easily fish and put in a kayak or beach a boat at this site. Trees all over the place and it is extremely shaded. Sites have water and electricity but no sewer but there is dump station on site. this was one of the best camping trips we've had in the last 2 years. Weather was perfect and so was site. bathroom and shower facilities were a 30-second walk and there is a playground for kids. We certainly will stay here again.

Spent 3 nights here and it was a great experience. The folks at check in are as friendly and helpful as they come. Texas in late August is brutally hot but all the sites have tons of shade, so even when it was mid 90's, the breeze of the lake in the shade mad it bearable. The park is very clean and all site have a lake view with some being very close to water. Extremely quiet and peaceful. The pads are crushed gravel and not level so make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks. Pads are spaced nicely with a picnic table, grill and fire ring. The pads are a bit narrow and there is a drop down to the picnic area so make sure your RV placement leaves enough space or you could take a spill! Lots of room for dogs and with the lake so close River did swim. Electric and water at the sites. Dump station near the entrance. My only complaint is that the fire ring looked like someone had dumped a large ashtray in it. Didn't use it but just unsightly. Location is great for shopping.

All of the sites are pretty nice, with a good amount of space beween each site. Very peaceful but still close to tons of shopping and restaurants. Just west, after turning right on the main highway, there is an unmarked gravel parking lot on the right side (you can see it on satellite map setting) that gives you acces to a pretty good sized trail system. We opted to hike back under the highway and went two miles in before turning around. Never made it to where we couldn’t continue. Super great if you have dogs that need to run or enjoy a good trail run. Weekend was busy but weekday I didn’t see another soul.

Lakeside camping with grill, picnic tables, power and electricity at site. Dump station near the entrance. Pads are gravel. Large sites which easily accommodated our 45' Motorhome. Rates are $25.00/night, but with Senior ID they give a 20% discount. Nearby shopping which you will need to drive to. Quite and peaceful while we have been here. Keycode entrance gate when no attendant present.

Very beautiful campground with lots of trees. You feel like you are out of the city but you are actually very close to stores, restaurants and theaters. The down fall of this park is their terrible bathrooms! The are too few for the amount of campers and very uninviting. They hose them down to clean them leaving the seats covered with water and of course there are no towels! We did a review on YouTube, just search Sunny Junket or look at the blog section.

I stayed here based on the Google maps street view. Although it was a little high in my opinion, it was very nice. Plenty of room to walk. Although, I believe they only allow bikes in the day use area. The restrooms were okay. My site was amazing. People were boating and fishing. A happy place.

Overall, this was a very nice city park that accommodated both RV and tent camping. The spots were well maintained with an aluminum picnic table and small fire pit. There was also a BBQ grill as well. The campground area was nice and somewhat secluded from local neighborhoods, though houses could be nearby. There were very mature oak trees throughout the property. The staff was nice as were the bathroom facilities. The only downside was the noise from airplanes overhead (10 miles north of DFW Airport) and roadway traffic (also very close to the campground entrance).

Pilot Knoll Park is now my number one local getaway. Located on Lake Lewisville near Argyle, TX it is a gem on an otherwise so-so lake. Large well maintained campsites with waterfront access, I found it to be perfect for local DFW RVers wanting a weekend away from the house.
