Mokolodi Backpackers is located 10kms southwest of the capital city of Gaborone, and is a short walk to Mokolodi Nature Reserve.
Set in rugged semi-arid African bushveld and surrounded by an abundance of indigenous flora and fauna, Mokolodi Backpackers’ offers comfortable and affordable self-catering accommodation and campsites, together with attentive service and warm and friendly hospitality.
The accommodation comprises a luxury rondavel with a double and single bed, thatched cottages with two single beds in each; two-sleeper timber huts, four-sleeper timber units with bunks and tents with two single beds in each. All are clean, well maintained and secure. Camping facilities are also available with 220V power outlets close by, camping is done amongst the units, within our boundary walls. Safe parking is available on the property.
Mokolodi Backpackers has a communal self-catering kitchen, and communal hot-water shower facilities with fresh towels and linen supplied daily to occupants of units, some units have private facilities. Free Wi-fi is also available.
Nearby activities include a variety of game drives at Mokolodi Nature Reserve, rhino and giraffe tracking, hiking, bird watching and enjoying spectacular sunsets – or just lounging around the pool or shooting pool at the bar.
We at Mokolodi Backpackers are also happy to impart travel advice to guests for their further travels in Botswana, and willing to introduce them to Botswana culture and traditional African cuisine.
Botswana’s weather is both warm and dry for most of the year, although it does rain in mid-summer, and it can be quite nippy in mid-winter.
