Could be a wonderful rv park because of the location on the river. But tall weeds prevent a view unless you have one of a handful of sites close to the river. And those sites are far from bathroom which is two bathroom s each with a shower, toilet, and sink. They have wood floors. Kind of like a log cabin look. It was muddy because it had rained the night before we arrived. And most of the campground roads are either old gravel or just dirt. And the grounds are just damp. Nothing for kids to do. The man who checked us in wasn’t in the office and we phoned him and he came over. Some old rusty campers there that looked permanent and it’s next door to a pretty run down trailer park. Our air conditioner cut out due to inadequate power.

I loved staying here! The view was gorgeous and it was a FHU pull through site. Manager takes you to your site. The walking paths are numerous, well maintained and take you right to the shoreline of Peoria Lake. If you like to bike on pavement the park is up against a small neighborhood. There is a canal available for some kayaking and will take you into Peoria Lake. If you bring the kiddos bring plenty of old fashioned games and activities for them to do! Like being close to Peoria and the trendy eateries like Cayenne in Peoria Heights! Yum! Water seemed fine to us but we use several filters plus s Berkey. Great Verizon (3 bars).

The park was one of the few open in November and we just needed a quick stopover for a night. The park was very informal with just a cash payment to one of the guys walking around. We were directed to a site and started filling our fresh tank since we didn’t have access to water the few nights prior. This was a mistake as the water was muddy. It ruined our water filter and we had to flush the fresh tank several times afterwards. It was a quiet place to sleep but we were up and out quickly the next morning in search of clean water.

FHU, level crushed rock site with grass between sites. Beautiful view of Peoria Lake. The grounds are not perfect, but it’s right in the lake and very clean. Big rig friendly. The owner escorted us to our site and was very nice. Very quiet too.

It was an interesting stay. We had sent in a reservation online, and got an email reply that we were expected. We arrived after 6:00 on a Saturday, and the office was closed. We followed the note and called the owner/manager, who told us where to park, saying he’d be by in about an hour. We set up, walked around the park (nice sunset), and went to bed. The next morning we had breakfast, packed up, and went to the office, which was still closed. We called again, reminding him that we hadn’t yet paid. He asked if we could leave the money in the dropbox by the office door, which we did. Never saw anyone from the camp. There weren’t too many campers when we were there. The site was pull through, with FHU. Concrete pad next to the gravel pull through, with a picnic table. Overall, the campground was “messy” - some random trash here and there, and generally unkempt looking. Overall, it was “okay” for an overnight stay. Not much to do, unless you went to the casino 5 miles down the road (which we didn’t).

We were looking for a nice shady site, millpoint fit the bill perfectly We had a beautiful spacious site overlooking the Illinois river. Would have stayed longer if it hadn’t been so hot (94). Peaceful and quiet.

Not horrible but not memorable either. Lots of shade trees. Natural appearance was beautiful but sites could be kept cleaner. Our stay was early September so many leaves had fallen which is to be expected but they were ankle deep on our site patio. At minimum you would think someone would keep those swept off. Staff was friendly. Our neighbor had no concept of “quiet hours” blasting music inside his RV well past midnight.

This was a very peaceful one night stopover. We stayed in early May and the park, which looked to be pretty big, was sparsely populated. We were able to pull they a very large site with full hookups. At least in this section there was plenty of room between the RVs. We did have neighbors, and never heard a peep. They have a bathhouse, which we did not use. They offer Wi-Fi which is fast enough to check email but probably not stream. We used our Passport America membership, so our rate, With two young children, was $29 for the night. The highlight of the stay was the peaceful birds chirping in the trees in the morning. We would stay here again. It is a long a fairly large river, but the sides were not, at least the one area that we were in. This is a rural area, not smack dab in the middle of the city, but there is a Dollar General within a couple miles of the park and lots more eating and shopping within 5 to 10 minute drive. This park could accommodate you even the big rigs.
