Presentation of our Eco. Project Mas de la Fargassa. CAMPING A LA FERME - GÎTES
Our old Catalan mas: Mas de la Fargassa is located on 60 ha of land, in the Pyrenean mountains at 600 meters hight, alongside an ever-flowing mountain river. It consist of a main building with a proffecional kitchen, 5 gites, 2 apartments, a wooden chalet and a Bergerie.
We Have a smallscale organic fruitfarm of 1O Ha, cultivated with different fruittrees and fruitplants; apple, pear, plum and cherry trees, strawberry, gooseberry, raspberry, myrtille, cassis, red and white currant and elderberry's and we grow biological vegetables.
Beside of these 10 Ha, we have many walnut-, chestnut- and hazelnuttrees on our land and some chickens for bio-eggs.
We have our own Biological Jammery.
We sell our products on the local market, at a coöperative of local biological farmers, home sale and to our tourists.
We living in harmony with nature, are located in a protected natureal area and we take care of our environment. We ensure that the old farmers destination from before the 2nd worldwar of the Mas is maintained .
Beside that, we have developped agro- touristic activities, a campsite a la ferme and Gites / Chambre d' hotes, ((www.lafargassa.com)
Also the long distance foodpath, the GR10 crosses our land and we offer the hikers shelter and food. On Fargassa we try to create nature and ecological consciousnesse with our tourists and helpers and try to involve them in our ecologic farming acivities.
We want to invest in expanding our organic fruit, nut and vegetable plantations.
Keeping bees, and start drying our fruits.
Invest in expanding ecological tourism, create more ecological workshops in spring and autumn, investing our energie in exchanging projects and nature education.
We think it is very important to invest in sustainable development, use more renewable energy, create an energy neutral living and invest in solar energie.

Write a reviewOp een adembenemende, afgezonderde locatie in de Pyreneeën, naast een kristalheldere (zwem)rivier met rotsen om te beklimmen, bevindt zich Mas de la Fargassa: een idyllische plek die je nooit meer uit je geheugen zult wissen! We zijn met open armen ontvangen en hebben genoten van zoveel rijkdom: het gezamenlijk zingen rond het kampvuur, de verrukkelijke (vegetarische) gerechten, de spontane ontmoetingen met andere bezoekers bij het vuur, gezamenlijke wandeltochten, de verbluffende schoonheid van de natuur, de paarden, zoveel kinderen die elkaar ontdekten…We hebben talloze mooie en unieke locaties bezocht tijdens onze reizen, maar Mas de la Fargassa heeft een speciaal plekje in ons hart veroverd.

Een betoverende plek waar we zeker nog een keer terugkomen. Bij vertrek konden we ons maar moeilijk losscheuren van dit tijdloze paradijs!

Beautifully situated, quiet and relaxed site.Simple. Vegetarian, eco. Nice cold stream, beautiful mountains, good walks, friendly owners, communal meals, small shop, nice activities. Only draw-back: dogs and their poo. You have to be prepared to like dogs when you visit. This year there were 5 or 6 dogs ill-trained dogs roaming the grounds, stealing food, leaving litter. No matter how excellent everything is, nobody likes finding a heap of doo-doo next to their tent, or remnants there-of littering the grounds. Thus, not 5 out of 5 but 4.

Top locatie. Ik was er iets meer dan 5 jaar geleden.Vriendelijke eigenaars! Fijne activiteiten, leuk om de berg op te klimmen en een nachtje in slaapzak te slapen bij ruine. Dan moet je wel niet bang zijn van de everzwijnen ;-)

Het was de heerlijkste vakantie die we gehad hebben. Een warme persoonlijke sfeer, prachtige natuur en heel veel speel vriendjes voor onze kinderen. Je kunt er geweldig zwemmen in een hele mooie rivier die langs het huis loopt en s'avonds gezellig mee eten bij het kampvuur. De weg naar boven de bergen in is spannend, maar onvergetelijk mooi. Ze hebben veel dieren, erg leuk voor de kinderen. Er worden wandelingen georganiseerd en je kan er paard rijden. We komen zeker terug !
