If you like a shiny, new upscale resort, this is not your place. If you want a beautiful spot on the Maine coast with nice people, a private beach, great kayaking, biking, seafood and close to a number of wonderful Maine towns...this is your place. Site #10 is yards from the water with an unobstructed view. It’s hard to get as everyone wants it so book way ahead. We had 2 glorious weeks there. No sewer hookup but they will send over the honey wagon for a fee. Rockland, Rockport and Camden are nearby with wonderful restaurants, museums and day schooners. We took our bikes and jumped on ferries to some of the local islands for fun day trips. We loaded up the kayaks and explored some of the local harbors that are filled with lobster boats and beautiful sailboats. We found people everywhere to be very COVID sensitive and mask rules and social distancing Practices were followed wherever we went. Thank you Mainiacs! We had adequate phone and internet with our Airstream connect AT&T service. We camp in a 2019 Airstream Flying Cloud.

I booked this 6 weeks in advance and told my site would be steps from beach. Not. I got the worst site.. it was awful, they said they would move me but accommodated newcomers instead. The bathrooms were awful and the campground infested with red ants. I hated it. Couldn't wait to leave. So much so I left a week early. They overcharged me 3 days and have not returned any of my calls or emails. It's so not worth it. Everyone is packed in and there is no "beach", stay away or go to Camden instead.

Tented here for a night in late September 2017. Of course at that time of year the camp was almost empty, so it was an extra peaceful experience. It instantly became a favorite. Tent camped right at the water, fog rolling in and out. A place I look forward to camping at again, next time in the high season.

We stayed at Lobster Buoy Campgrounds in July 2017 and I can say to us this was a hidden gem. It was by far the quietest campground we have stated in. We were just steps from them ocean. It is a smaller family owned and operated that some rules that someone going there would need to know 1st is they do not allow you to run air conditioning or generators, but with the ocean breeze we found that we didn’t need it at all. We had 15 amp electric and water. We needed the extension cord to reach the pedestal. The sites were not the most level that have seen but we were able to get level. They believe in old time camping where people need to entertain themselves. They do have their own beach that you can fish or kayak from. The other campers were mostly people that come back year after year but everyone so so friendly they made us feel like we knew them for a long time.

The random reviews on another site attracted us. No pools, playgrounds or fancy surroundings. Campground opened in the 1950's by current owners grandparents. Sites still grass, water and both 20 and 30 amp electric. No cable, limited wifi, but great surroundings enjoyed by folks who are mainly repeaters. Pets are welcomed if controlled. C/G is the center of Rockland, ME lobstah fishing country and at least three nearby lobstah dinner pools nearby with fresh catches for dinner. Rockland has great shopping and services as well.
