!Khwa ttu

R27
West Coast Road, Yzerfontein
Western Cape, South Africa

!Khwa ttu is a highly recommended property for self catering in Yzerfontein for tourists visiting the Cape West Coast region.

About !Khwa ttu
!Khwa ttu offers you the unique experience of being introduced to the world of the San (in the past called Bushmen). The Centre is housed within a series of lovingly restored old West Coast farm buildings whilst the surrounding area teems with an abundance of birdlife, game and fynbos and stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain. The San are descendants of an ancient hunter-gathering people, who have encountered dispossession of their territories, discrimination and poverty. Yet, !Khwa ttu is not a monument to suffering or misery. It is a living celebration of past and present San culture; an uplifting and inspirational experience. Guest House: Two units each with 1 double room and en-suite bathrooms (twin available on request). All units have a luxurious spacious lounge with fireplace, dining area, fully equipped open-plan kitchen, complimentary Wi-Fi access and beautiful décor. Come and enjoy a luxurious getaway in a quiet, tranquil and natural location. Bush House: This beautiful self contained bush house is heated through solar power, has an open plan lounge and kitchen with separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, cozy indoor fire place, as well as a comfortable outdoor fireplace and beautiful décor that blends in with the natural environment. The bedroom has two single beds that can be made into one king-size bed. A sleeper couch and additional mattresses can be provided for children under 12. Complimentary Wi-Fi access. A delightful blend of bush and luxury nestled amongst strandveld indigenous vegetation, the bush house is neatly tucked away. Bush Lodge: This lodge has a bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. There is a kitchenette for basic self catering and a private braai area outside. With walks and wetlands and bird hides, it is a lovely venue from which to explore the unique plants and animals of the area. Tented Bush Camp: Perfectly situated away in the vegetation, these tents offer luxury outdoor furniture as well as two beautiful linen single beds. The circular semi-roofed boma invites our guests to have barbecues at the central campfire. Towels and utensils available on request, shared outdoor showers and ablution facilities available as well as comfortable boma. Tented Bush Village Camp: Small San tented huts, sleeps 2 people per tent. Whether you plan a quick visit to !Khwa ttu for lunch, or aim to spend more time with us, we can guarantee you a positive and thoroughly enjoyable eating experience.

I was taken aback by the calmness and seclusion of the Lodge Bush Camp. The attached bathroom area was truly extraordinary. Our visit was thoroughly enjoyable. The kitchen was primarily stocked for making Tea and Coffee, but with smart packing, you can prepare a delightful meal in the sheltered kitchenette, which is conveniently located near the outdoor barbecue area. Alternatively, the onsite eatery is simply fantastic. The food is outstanding and the staff is delightful. I would strongly endorse it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in the Bush tent. The braai boma area was spacious and the ablution block rustic with the open shower. The breakfast was excellent with friendly staff serving us.

A great experience for my wife and me, very friendly staff, excellent restaurant with reasonable prices and extraordinary food neatly served; most interesting guided tour with experienced guides. Warm welcome in German (!) by guide trainees, simple but cleanly accomodation (guest house). Big compliments for the efforts in organic gardening (by Manu and Massi) and restoring local flora. Impressing exhibition and video about the San culture. Thank you to all the !khwa ttu people from Geemany!

The location was very nice and very beautiful and the lodge offered amazing hikes and nature as well as really good breakfast. However, the tents themselves are not in a good condition. The bedding and amenities are old and should be replaced.
