Kamp Klamath served as an excellent starting point for venturing into Redwoods and the nearby regions. The park is kept in top-notch condition by a warm and accommodating team. A pleasant path leads to the river, and their shop or office stocks local eggs and a good variety of beers. The laundry facilities might be compact, but they are reasonably priced. It caters well to both tent camping enthusiasts and RV owners.

It was a joy to lodge surrounded by towering Redwoods at the foot of a breathtakingly picturesque route. The personnel are extremely courteous and thoughtful, as if they are personally invested in ensuring your enjoyment. The entire place is neat and well-kept. The location is easily accessible. We spent four days there, but it felt like it wasn't sufficient!

The hosts and staff were friendly and accommodating. The recreational vehicle spot was equipped with complete amenities including cable television. The restroom and shower facilities were located quite a distance away, near the area for tent camping. Despite the building being a bit dilapidated, the showers were warm and had good pressure. The area designated for tent camping was quite picturesque with lush greenery and ample trees. There was also a bear who lived on the premises. We didn't have any problems with him, he kept to himself. It was quite a thrill to see a bear, a smaller one with a brownish-black coat.

The weather is slightly chilly, yet the beauty and tranquility are breathtaking, marking my return to this beloved region for the second time.

Kamp Klamath felt like coming home. We were only supposed to be at Kamp Klamath two nights. However due to the unprecedented heat in Sacramento for the first week of September we decided to extend our stay on the coast. We ran into a maintenance issue and the staff went above and beyond to help us. The beach at the mouth of the Klamath river was incredible and the sea lions were a big treat.

We extended our stay in the area and were delighted to be able to stay here. The FHU was nice. We were in the Mesa area. The campers were set up back to back, and there was just enough room for a picnic table and there was plenty of room to take out slides. It was not particularly private, and sites were close, but not too close. A young bear came up one evening — the first time we have ever seen a bear! I knocked off a star because there was only a single shower and there was a really bright light at the end of the area where we sited that bothered me at night. Otherwise it was big, clean, nice little paths to river views…. I would recommend going to the end of the road at your leisure to check out where the mouth of the River meets the sea. Seals (or sea lions) were there too! They had wifi, but it came in pretty weak at our site so we used our own Starlink (with no problems at all).

This camp ground was wonderful! They had clean bathrooms & showers open 24hrs. We also booked day of and they were able to accommodate us no problem. The camp ground is only 10 minutes to the beach & coastal drive. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. They had a field to play in with horseshoes, a volleyball net, & a garden! 10/10 recommend.

Great camp location and super friendly staff. The owner was there while we were and invited all the campers to a camp cookout! So fun. It is right off the river and very close to a beach, hiking, and all the natural wonders of the area. The camp had lots of games and space for kids to run around and is very pet friendly. Comparing to other rv parks in the area, this one seemed to have a lot more going on, including trees and shade. They even have a garden with fresh fruits and veg you can buy. Highly recommend.

Right on the Klamath River. This isn't a fancy place but the management is very nice. Trails in the redwoods. Good Sam and AAA reduced the tab. Convenient off 101. We'd come back.

This place seemed a little sketchy when we first came in, with most of the buildings covered in tarps or being seemingly rundown, but we were welcomed immediately by 2 of the camp hosts, who were exceedingly kind. They gave us information on the area as well as showed us the black bear when he came through camp. This was an excellent location for exploring Prairie Creek and the redwoods, and not a bad drive to town either. One negative was the information on their website showing laundry, when there was not any laundry facilities available, the hosts said that is in progress for the future.

Our family stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed our stay. The staff is wonderful and very helpful and friendly. It was quiet, clean, and in the heart of the Redwoods. A wonderful place to stay!! The closest grocery is Cresent City which is about a 20-25 min drive. There is no laundry facility on property nor is there one in Klamath. We had to go into Cresent City. We are a family of seven so having laundry on sight would have been more convenient, but we would still gladly stay again. If your in or near Klamath you need to stay here!

We found Kamp Klamath on and couldn’t be happier with the location. It sits on the river, only a short walk to beautiful beach views and in between all of the state parks that make up Redwood National Park.. It has almost everything you need. The campground itself was incredibly clean meticulously maintained. The community garden and horseshoes were just an added bonus. In case you don’t meet the friendly groundskeeper who gave us all kinds of suggestions… if you go 1.4 miles past the campground, you’ll get to the beach. There’s a gate and you can walk past it and you’ll see a little trail. That same road is a 9 mile scenic loop and a beautiful drive (I think it’s called Drury Scenic Parkway but don’t quote me on that) There’s a great little hike at the top of that ridge called Flint Ridge and there you’ll find just as big redwoods as you would in the NP, but not a soul around. Prairie State Park has an elk viewing area, we saw elk on the beaches there! The few downfalls were minor (unless you are working full time). there isn’t much around and the closest town is crescent city which has daily road closures for hours at a time, so get your groceries ahead and plan accordingly, but that’s easy enough. And lastly, the wifi was been extremely hit or miss and so has the cell service. We have Verizon mobile router with booster and although we had 1-2 bars of LTE, it was enough to check emails but not enough to hold webinars and Zoom meetings. The campground sits in a valley and the signal strength just is not great no matter what you do. And while they had wifi, it wasn’t definitely not great. In our 6 months of full time living, it was probably one of the worst because it was wildly inconsistent. We would have 40 mba of download speed one minute and then very next minute, 1mgb. Then the next minute, it would disconnect. Then you’d reconnect and be back to 5mbs. Then back to 1. Then it’d disconnect again. It was a struggle for 5 days to get work done. The cell service was great at the end of the road, so we ended up having To sit in our car and host Zoom meetings to ensure we weren’t disconnected. But, we learned that they should be upgrading their wifi in the near future. So if you rely on good connectivity to work, give them a call and see if it’s been upgraded yet! Overall, I would still have to give it 5 stars!

Under new ownership since 2020 this has got to be the best RV Park in Del Norte County, if not all of California. Nestled perfectly between the redwoods & Klamath River, Kamp Klamath is just wonderful. Lots of trails, access to fishing, the Redwood National Park, Pacific Ocean, just marvelous! New owners are updating the utilities, dressing up the existing sites and adding a new laundry room. Garden, games, play ground, great for young & old & young at heart. This camp also accommodates tents as well as all classes of RV's & TT's. Far enough off of US101 to not hear any road noise but convenient and easy to find from the exit. This is our second visit and won't be our last, can't wait to see the place again with all the new improvements.

We stayed here as our base to see the Redwoods. Great choice. Good central location between Jedediah Smith and Prairie Creek State park.. The staff could not have been any nicer. The site was nice. It could have been a little bigger but was comfortable. The amenities were all in good working order. Close to the mouth of the Klamath River and the Pacific. Did not use the restrooms. They were building a laundry facility while we were there. The one road in was rough and in need of resurfacing. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great location wooded and by the river, 2 miles off 101, easy access, many sites are big rig friendly with fairly level compacted gravel pad with trees and grass between sites. Verizon coverage good. We have a 36 ft class A with toad. Hosts Maria and Don were absolutely wonderful. Convenient to all of the Redwoods National Parks. Would stay again...hopefully soon!
