We liked this campground! Owner Laura welcomed us with a smile and was helpful in explaining the ferry system. Bathrooms are clean and showers nice and hot: grass sites are level (we had a pull through full hookup) Its close enough to downtown and the harbor for a nice walk. Quiet and restful stay!

Loved this campground! Laura and George were very welcoming and helpful. If you like to walk it’s close enough to downtown, restaurants, shops and museums. It’s quiet at night even though you are near the Highway. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Big rig friendly room for tow dolly and motorcycle! The sites are well maintained. Grassy and level. 30 and 50 amp sites available. Some rv supplies and souvenirs in store. Everyone has a large picnic table. The main road in and out of town is right there but not much traffic goes by at night. Take time to find the very well manicured trail system just 1/2 block away on the way to fairgrounds which btw has the buildings from the 1991 movie white fang and a little kids playground. Only negative would be we weren’t aware there was town info behind the desk so we went to town to visitor center. I also read a review that camp hosts helped make travel arrangements with local tour companies. I didn’t know that was possible. Town is walking distance. We considered ocean site park but it looks a little sketchy and not sure about big rigs .

We stayed here for a week (our rate was the weekly rate of $270) and felt secure enough to leave our rig while we took a 3-day side trip to Glacier Bay NP. Very meticulously maintained park with grassy sites, full services and clean restrooms. Room enough for our motorhome and Jeep with a picnic table. Sites are not too close together by Alaska standards. Met the new owners, friendly, helpful folks. Both wifi and AT&T cellular are iffy, come and go, like most remote places. Self-serve RV and car wash across the street, hardware store, propane and fuel just down the street. The town of Haines is about a mile down the road, airport is 3 miles up the road.

Great little camp ground stumbling distance from the state fair. Clean and friendly, and a short walk to town or the fair. The fair was a lot of fun, small and local, people come from all over the southwest to go to the fair, most of them just pitch a tent right on the beach. We had a great time at this little fair wich had great local music, beer and great food. Chilkoot lake was full, we would of stayed there and probably will when we return, but with the fair in town I think we got the better option.
