Spent two evenings in a pleasant park. It was tidy and roomy, however, there was no cellular reception. The waste disposal area is located at the primary entry point which is not particularly handy.

This state park was a delight! It offered numerous trails for walking, cycling, and trekking. There were also a couple of ponds where fishing was allowed. The camping site was well-maintained. The washroom was cleaned on a daily basis. They provided a washing machine and a dryer, situated outside the washroom, but it was kept spotless. We had the pleasure of observing a lot of deer and other animals during our morning walks with our dogs! Overall, it was a charming location. Unfortunately, there was no T-Mobile network coverage.

Colt Creek is a fantastic compact camping site, incredibly tidy and exceptionally well-kept. The bathroom facilities are spotless, the campsite hosts are wonderful, and the park rangers are outstanding! There's an abundance of areas for strolling, cycling, and trekking!

Huge park, lots of hiking. Moderatly sized CG, great destination. Everything is new, well planned and maintained; our best stop going south for the winter.

We think Colt Creek State Park is a perfect 10 in the Florida wilderness. The moment we pulled into the campground, we were highly impressed with the well-manicured grounds, the wide spaces between sites, the raked and level gravel pads, and the overall cleanliness of the park. We did NOT find dusty, sandy roads, highway noise, or mosquitoes and flies swarming us. We took a several-mile nature trail on one day through the woods and prairie; it was peaceful and serene, with butterflies everywhere. Still no mosquitoes to be found even in the wettest parts of the trail. Every part of the trail we walked on was covered in thick, mowed grass. At the campground exit, there are two dump stations that are plenty wide. Verizon cell service was 2-3 bars, but was presenting consistent 20Mbps download speed. This will be our new local favorite campground, it sets a new bar.

A hidden gem in the Florida State Parks camping system, the Colt Creek State Park Campground absolutely blew us away. This campground truly is a hidden gem within the Florida State Parks camping system. You will be greeted by spacious big rig friendly campsites with 50/30 amp electric and water. A few campsites have sewer and all the facilities look new, and this campground has several dump stations near the exit. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 5.08 Mbps download speed and 0.10 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 7.55 Mbps download speed and 0.69 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 2.68 Mbps download speed and 0.12 Mbps upload speed.

The state park itself is lovely - lots of trails to explore. The campground is not the classic Florida State Park style - it's the new style era. Wide huge level gravel sites with lots of space between them - but little separation. It looks like most trees were cleared and there's little brush between in the campground itself. Which on a sunny hot day, leaves little to no shade. In February you'd think that would not be an issue, but during our stay it was in the mid-80s. Overall, enjoyed the park - but wouldn't be a top pick for a return. We just prefer a campsite with lots of privacy or something of interest to see. T-Mobile & Verizon here was really strong with great speeds. AT&T a bit on the weaker side.

We stayed at Colt Creek for 1 night - mostly to be closer to our next campground. We were lucky to get site 31 which had more privacy and space than some of the other sites. Lots of ground cover between this site and the sites around us. Pad was very level and there were some nice looking trails we would have tried if we were there longer. Only negative was horrible cell service - which normally would be a plus, but we were working remotely on this trip. Very spotty Verizon service which made our hotspot useless for the night.

Huge level sites, 50 amp, two dump stations, good washer and dryer. Plenty of hiking and biking opportunities in the park. More of a weekend destination place rather than a base for sightseeing as there is nothing around to see. 15 miles to nearest grocery. An hour to Tampa. Plenty of OTA channels.
