This recreational area is conveniently located just beside Highway 1 in Bodega Bay, providing excellent proximity to the city. The personnel are amiable. The restrooms and washing facilities are neat and kept in good condition. The camping spots are flat and the utility connections are simple to use. Starlink offered impressive internet speeds. Both AT&T and Verizon had decent service, though it varied throughout the day. I would certainly revisit this place!

A neat, compact campground with closely packed sites. The staff is welcoming. There are separate areas for small and large dogs, albeit somewhat limited in size, but handy. Numerous placards around the area advise against allowing your dog to relieve itself anywhere other than the designated dog zones, whether on grass or gravel. Numerous other signs forbid the use of bicycles, skateboards, etc. within the property. You must carry your bicycle to the solitary trail. No fire pits are available, but they can be rented for $25 per day. Firewood is sold for $30 per bundle. There's a trail that leads to Salmon Beach, provided you can navigate the modest dunes at the end. Located adjacent to a two-lane Highway 1, which is narrow and lacks bicycle or pedestrian lanes. The nearest town is approximately 2 miles to the south, making it somewhat isolated if you don't have a vehicle. They offer some games, complimentary showers in the bathhouse, which are satisfactory. Laundry services cost $2.00 for washing and $2.00 for drying. The highlight of the place is a fantastic coffee shop situated between the campground and Highway One, offering artisan baked goods, breakfast, and lunch sandwiches, as well as a Mexican restaurant serving delicious meals.

The download and upload speeds for Verizon, with a Pepwave antenna mounted on the roof, were approximately 18 Mbps and 3 Mbps respectively. My phone's ATT service delivered speeds of 6/0.4. The campground, typical of a state park, had a sandy and uneven terrain. The site was spacious enough to reverse into without having to unhitch for the night. Facilities included a functioning dump station and access to drinkable water.

The disposal site is currently shut down because individuals in their recreational vehicles have been disposing of wet wipes in their lavatories.

I didn’t stay here. I went here to shower. Many. CA state parks don’t have showers. This one did. And it was instant hot, high pressure.

Campground is tucked away in the dunes. Winter time only one of three open, after March other loops open. No hookups water available and flush toilets and token showers available. Campgrounds and restrooms kept clean. Firewood available from hosts or at front booth. Hosts were very helpful. Generators allowed 10a.m. To 8 p.m.

Dry camping but water nearby. Has flush toilets and token showers. Token machine takes bills. Beach is about 1 mile walk to day use area with wood boardwalk to beautiful beach. There is plenty of all types of dining in easy drive. This whole coastal area has many areas to view migrating whales. Dogs are not allowed on this beach because of the snowy plover.

Okay, so this was one of our first stops after becoming a full-time RV family. Obviously there is going to be sand. Lots of it. A week later... I think I’ve gotten most the sand out of our RV. I’ll make sandy destinations a once or twice a year affair, I think I can only handle it that much. Our spot was at the base of a little dune so the kids had some fun climbing/exploration right within their own camp. Shared water faucet between our camp and the next. Lots of garbage and recycling receptacles. Some of the nicest rangers/staff I’ve ever met. The beach here has an amazing wooden walkway from parking area to the beach. No dogs, even leashes allowed on the beach that’s at the campground. The campsites are not very private.

Nice spot. Good location for access to Bodega Bay and surrounding areas. It's right at the edge of the town of Bodega and coincidentally at the edge of Bodega Harbor right through the trees. There's a path to walk to the harbor. Friendly staff. I appreciated the fresh water station & dump station as this was a stopover while on our way to another location. The campground is tucked into sand dunes. So be prepared to have sand everywhere. But with it's positioning there's limited wind. There is an ocean beach to the North. Don't try to walk though. It's a long walk in the sand to get there. It's a short drive without really leaving the park area. Perhaps 1.5 miles. The real asset for this campground is the access to the coastline to the north. Hiking on Bodega Head. Even a drive down to Dillon Beach.

Easy to find, easy check in pleasant staff, my site was raked pea-gravel, very neat. The utilities worked well. the park has a slight downhill slope towards the bay, the site was ever so slightly out of level side-to-side, easily accommodated. The campground is surrounded by tall pine trees. That combined with almost constant overcast skies gave a closed-in feeling. I wish I could tell you what it looks like in sunshine, but there was almost none during my August stay. Town and the beach were about a mile away. Walking on PCH/Highway 1 from the campground would likely be deadly. Functional AT&T service.

Immaculate grounds, laundry and restrooms. Sites are reasonably sized. Excellent complimentary DVD catalogue, which is good because the wifi is terrible. About a mile to a gorgeous beach (you can walk or drive through the state park). Walking to town is suicide along hwy 1, so you will have to drive even though it is very close. Doran Regional park is great for easy lounging on tbe beach. Not much sun but 65 degrees better than 100 inland. Good seafood but Very Expensive. The little town of Bodega where The Birds school scene was filmed is just up the road. Overall, a very good value considering the other RV park is more than double the rate.

Bodega Dunes is conveniently located right on the harbor and you can walk to several restaurants from the campground. You can also walk across the dunes to the beach from the campground. The campground itself shows some signs of needing maintenance as well as signs that it is being performed. The listed pad lengths of campsites are not always accurate. We stayed in site 75 which was listed as a 31 foot pad. It was about 45 feet long and we had no problem fitting a 28 foot trailer and our tow vehicle in it. I think this is due to some recent upgrades. Sites 69 through 80 clearly have been recently paved as has the road in front of them. All of these sites will take larger vehicles. While some of the other sites will take a larger vehicle, many will not. If you do need to park a vehicle elsewhere, there is overflow parking available. The spigots in the campground are not threaded, so if you need fresh water, fill up at the dump station near the entrance kiosk.

We loved this location and staff. Great Wifi. Very Quiet. Close to everything. Very clean restrooms and showers. All spaces are gravel and some have a steep slope but we were able to level. Well stocked store with various RV parts.

Dropped in for a couple of nights to get away from the smokey air at home. The grounds are within walking distance of Bodega Harbour and we were able to walk to Spud Point Crab Co. for a delicious bowl of clam chowder. The walk from our campsite to the beach was about a 2 mile trek. Part sand dunes and concrete. Was refreshing and the views of the ocean were well worth it. The sites were pretty well spaced and I was surprised by the amount of tent campers. A refreshing change as there were not any generators that I was able to hear. You were able to hear the distant fog horn - although very faintly. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We would defiantly go back here again. Also, full internet access.

This is a great spot that is a about a 20 minute hike through the dunes to a beautiful beach, or a short walk the other direction brings you to the bay. Campsites are very open and not very private, but they are fairly large and most seem to have at least dappled shade. Camspite 45, where we camped, had a spot to park our campervan though we did need to level it a bit, and no campsites behind or on one side. And a good spot from which to hike over the dunes. Plenty of shade and room for tents. Friendly and helpful staff. We've camped at many California State Parks this summer, and this one was the quietest. No noisy or rowdy groups. Raccoons stand by ready to dig in your trash so don't leave any food out. Take the time to walk on the trail to the Children's Bell Tower, a memorial of a local 7-year old murdered in Italy several years ago. The one ding I have, is that this campground has a lot of trash... mostly small bits all over, c'mon folks, leave your campsite cleaner than you found it. I only had enough service for texting via ATT.

We visited this area specifically to see the dunes and get close to the ocean. I have difficulty walking on uneven surfaces and found it pretty hard to hike the paths through the dunes. Most of the sites are well spaced apart but none are particularly private. As luck would have it, our site (38) was tucked into the dunes and, as such, was pretty sandy. Most, if not all, of the others seemed to be on more solid ground.

Beautiful campsite and extremely quiet at night. However, their dump station is currently out of order and they are not sure when it will be up and running again. Also, as another reviewer noted, there is a semi constant beeping sound from somewhere on the coast. We didn’t hear it during the night though so maybe they turn it off at night. It didn’t really bother us. We would definitely stay here again!

I'm a frequent camper at this lovely state park and have previously posted a review. Adding a new review to simply alert RV-ers that the Dump Station is closed as of 4-30-2021 and has been closed or many months. Per the on-site ranger, there is not a reopening date.

Please note as of 4/21/21 the dump station was still closed and some of the bathrooms were not operational. We camped in space 17. Our pad was big enough, but the area around it was huge (big enough for 2 tents) and we felt far enough away from all our neighbors. Directly across the site is a hilly path leading to the beach (approx 1 mi.). The site was fairly protected from the wind and we could barely hear the Bodega Bay light house signal. The beach is about a 5min drive and it is worth driving to if you are hauling a lot of stuff. The beach was clean, quiet, and a great place to spend the day. Verizon was ok with our WeBoost.

Bodega Bay is becoming one of our favorite places to camp. This was our first time staying at Bodega Dunes and we’ve decided this will be our “go-to” from now on. We love that it is close to town, but feels far away. The wind through the eucalyptus sounds like the ocean, and the foghorn is always in the background (which I LOVE). Our site (56) has a nice alcove in the back that is private & protected. Remember that it gets windy - some sites are more protected from the wind than others. This campground is on campsitephotos.com so I’d take a look there. Our favorite things to do are chowder at Spud Point (walking/biking distance), Carmet Beach, kite flying (both kite stores are fun). Point Reyes and The Marshall Store other favs if you’re up for a drive. **Note that the dump station is not working again. Apparently they just had it fixed but it was a no-go for us.

Several campers, including me, have noted that the dump station was closed. As of my most recent trip here on January 14-15, 2022, I can confirm that the dump station is back open and for no additional charge. Bodega Dunes continues to be a favorite spot for me and my hubby. Easy to get to, spacious sites, clean, scenic and quiet. On my most recent visit, my hubby and I stayed in Site 17, which is large, very private and backs to a trail through the eucalyptus.

While there is nothing technically wrong with the campground, the area is not close to the water and you need to drive everywhere. Not our cup of tea. Clean site, clean bathrooms and well maintained. I found the staff to be okay but not very friendly or helpful.

We are in the process of selling our house in the bay area and have been rv-ing on various campgrounds in northern California for the last 6 weeks. Here are our impressions of the Bodega Bay RV Park: • In July it is foggy in the mornings, windy in the afternoons and cool to cold in the evenings. • The RV Park is very busy on weekends. • The water pressure (particularly on weekends) is low. • There is very limited grocery shopping within a radius of 25 miles • The small and intimate Farmers Market (Sun 10AM – 2PM) right next to the RV Park offers some interesting choices plus live music. • The hole in the wall restaurants “Boathouse” and "Stud Point" offer excellent and affordable clam chowder and fish & chips. • If you are traveling with dog and enjoy walking your dog off-leash, Sonoma County is the wrong place to go. The dog policies in the county are so restrictive, it is ridiculous. What saved us and our dogs was the lovely private “off leash” Dillon Beach about 15 miles from Bodega Bay. For a parking fee of $8 your dog gets to enjoy a very long off-leash beach. Also, next to the campground is an open field we used to have the dogs chase balls off-leash.

This is a pretty nice park in a resort area. The sites are close together, row on row but not too close. It seems like a typical non-park campground. It is very close to Bodega Bay and all of the water activities of the Bay and the Pacific Ocean. There are many restaurants within a short distance most of them specializing in seafood. The hosts were very pleasant. The bathrooms were reasonably clean. The only noise came from other campers and the foghorn in the bay.

RV park is small and good luck of finding any leveled spot. Everything is on the pricy side, from site rate, laundry, fire pit rental or a cup of coffee. There is disabled parking for restroom and showers but it is not wheelchair accessible. As a matter of fact you will be not able to roll up from the middle/lower part of the park to the street in a manual chair, only if you have a powered chair. Also, you are not able to walk to any of the close restaurants or little stores, as the street is too narrow with no shoulder and extremely windy. We went the only possible trail to ocean and after 3 miles got stuck literally 40 feet on the last dune before the ocean as the boardwalk was not maintained and just stopped...... but continued the last 25 feet over the dune to the ocean. So a real disappointment - why put all the handicap signs up and provide parking if you can't go anywhere? Park very busy and foghorn constantly.

Being new to the travel trailer scene, we had little expectations as to good or really good RV parks. My wife and I were very pleased and enjoyed our stay here. The facilities and amenities are very well maintained as well as the stalls and guest areas. It is very quiet in the evenings with everyone we encointered friendly and open to offers an help if needed. I definitely recommend this park and definitely will be a repeat guest.

Although the location is great, don’t stay here if you have kids or want to talk with friends. We had two families and literally got followed around the campsite. We also got a phone call that our kids were unattended (our 9, 11, and 12 year olds kids were waking between RVs).

Extremely well maintained park. Restrooms were spotless and sites are nicely maintained and fairly level. The camp is really quiet and relaxing, the host is wonderful and gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to visit during our stay. She also told us about a great Farmer’s market that sets up right next to the park on Sundays during the summer. There’s a Mexican restaurant and a small cafe near the entrance and the office has a good DVD collection to loan out on top of cable TV on most sites. Other campers were very friendly and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. Highly recommended!
