Got in Thursday evening around 5pm. No issues with check in at all. Clerk working the desk had our check in paper printed out and ready to go for us. The camp store is nice and has anything you may need or may have forgotten. I like that you can buy things and they can charge it to the card you have on file that you used to make your reservation. The campground does offer firewood at a very reasonable price. I believe I paid $35 for a full Kubota Utility Vehicle bed load. The wood was good and burned well. The site we had was good. It was pretty level only requiring one leveling block. The site was gravel and grass, we had plenty of room and even some to spare that our visitors parked on. The campground staff are very nice and helpful. On arrival the campground was completely booked due it being their annual Halloween Weekend Campground. The campground is roughly 80 sites with additional seasonal sites mixed in there. Friday afternoon we realized that our neighbors at site 34 hadn’t shown up yet, we come to discover that they canceled their reservation. I was able to to talk to campground staff and they helped me reserve it for my cousin that was looking for a site to stay on. You have your usual pull through sites in the middle of the campground and then along the outskirts you have some very nice woods sites that offer beautiful views and scenery. They also have a whole separate section for seasonal sites on the opposite side of the park. The site are decent sized but seem to be pretty close together. You’re not terribly close but compared to state parks and other campground I’ve stayed at it was a bit tight. It’s very family friendly. They have a very nice community pavilion area and stage/projector screen. They were offering hayrides and a costume contest that weekend as well as a cornhole tournament Saturday afternoon. Trick or treating went well and was a good time. It’s a short walk from Cowan Lake State Park which has a beautiful large lake. The bathrooms and shower facilities were very well kept. They have individual shower rooms which include a vanity and a bench as well as a heat lamp that works nicely. All and all it’s a nice private campground. It offers friendly staff and a family friendly atmosphere. The short distance to Cowan Lake is a plus as well. Halloween weekend was a little hectic but overall went well and I enjoyed it. Only complaint I have is that the WiFi at the campground was down.
