This was a nice campground with plenty of space at the site. Quiet and convenient to Custer. The water slide was unfortunately closed while we weee visiting.

We booked this site as my son was looking forward to their water slide which was closed when we got there. The pool was pretty dirty, but probably due to the road being so close to it. We had zero cell reception and I couldn’t get the wifi to work. Normally I wouldn’t care. But a storm moved in and I tried to find out how close it was since we were using a roof top tent. We ended up waiting it out in our truck until it passed.

Staff was very friendly. Plenty of open sites and she let us picked a site and suggested site E since we said we wanted shade. We stuck with her suggestion. On top of a hill looking down on the campers.

They say the sites are level. We had a very hard time adjusting our Motorhome. In the end it was not level at either site we were at. It has sparse grassy areas and too much dusty gravel. The people at the grounds were wonderful! Made a lot of friends! We do feel the cost of there grounds didn’t reflect what we were getting.

We decided to stay here during our week in Custer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean campground and amenities. They Wifi is slow and only a few cable channels but it's better than nothing. Our site was right on the edge of the property and we had a large grassy area. Great for the dogs. They also have a fenced in dog area. Would highly recommend this great spot as a home base for exploring Custer and surrounding areas.

Used this as a base camp for exploring the area. Came in after hours and they opened the office for us. They were in the middle of their Labor Day staff party. Checked us in the end met us at our site. Even removed the sewer cap for me after I ran it over!

Great location - nicely spaced out sites, many at different elevation to their neighbors. Located about 5 minutes out of Custer, so close to most things. Staff all super nice and helpful. Camp store not overpriced at all for essentials... Mostly very quiet, we really liked out site E in the far back loops. Only issue was wifi was spotty, and cell service 1 bar if you held your phone up to the sky :D

We stayed here for our first trip in our new camper. Staff was friendly and patient. Everything was spotless. The sites are reasonably level and very shaded. It’s a great base camp for touring the Black Hills and it’s location gets 5 Stars.

We booked the last available site that they had for us and really lucked out. Other campgrounds were considerably higher for far less amenities. Our site had 50 amp full hookups with cable (cable was not that great but we don't watch much TV anyway). We were on a sideward slope so we had to do a bit of shuffling to get level, but we've dealt with way worse and I didn't have to break out the leveling blocks. They have their own water wells so you don't get water that tastes like it came from a swimming pool, which was great. Some of the sites are a bit close but they try to arrange everyone by RV size so you aren't putting too big of a rig into too small of a site. Ours had plenty of room for our RV and Jeep. The on site laundry was extremely nice and was open 24 hours. Machines were in great shape and were very clean. There is a camp store with a good selection of staples and some odd-and-ends. The pools (one for swimming and one for the slide) were good but shallow. At the deepest, the big pool is only about 4 feet deep. The one for the slide is 3 or 4 feet deep as well. You can only use the slide if something like 5 people are interested enough for them to unlock it and it costs an extra $5 for using it. I thought that was kind of weird... especially the fee to use the slide. We didn't use it. Wifi was excellent when it worked. I routinely got 20 to 30 megs down and 10 to 15 up. They were having trouble with their provider and, in their defense, were working hard to get it fixed. I saw the service truck there more than once. Cell reception was decent with AT&T give 3 bars of LTE and 10 to 15 down, unboosted.

Beautiful, well kept grounds, sites are mostly level where we stayed (by the office) and we had great WiFi as well...but no streaming video, appears to be blocked. They do have free cable TV, so plan accordingly. Friendly and helpful staff, that assisted with backing us in. Laundry was great; one of the machines was out of order but was fixed by the next day. We saw several examples of the staff hopping right on to repairs, which probably explains why it is so well maintained. Bathrooms, showers and laundry were very clean. Only aluminum recycling. At the site we had (back in) the utilities were near the front so we had to use 30 ft of sewer hose. I carry a 50 ft fresh water hose, so no problem there. The rental car is a great convenience, it is a 2009 Dodge Caravan in pretty good shape. Other than being a bit bigger than our regular cars, it performed well going through Custer State Park, up the Iron Mountain Road to Mt. Rushmore, down to Hot Springs, etc. An annual pass to Mt. Rushmore and Custer SP is included and saves you $11 at Rushmore and $20 at Custer. They have a 10% discount for Good Sam members, seniors 65 & over, FMCA members, or persons with an active or retired Military ID. All in all, there might be better campgrounds in this area, but we will definitely make this one our first choice whenever we come back to the Black Hills.

Avoid this RV Park. This park has terrible customer service experiences. We booked this park for 2 nights in June for a stay in July. During a 3 week RV trip my Mother in Law passed away and we had to reschedule this stay for 2 days later than planned. When we called nobody mentioned a change fee for doing so. Upon arrival it was also not mentioned, but a small upcharge for a bigger site was charged. After we departed, we had a $20 charge without our authorization against our credit card. When we called them they said it was the mysterious change fee that was NEVER mentioned. When my wife mentioned that 5 other RV parks were sympathetic to changing our dates due to her Mother's death, this park still charged the $20 fee. Their website carefully hides this fee, so my suggestion is to avoid this park and stay in one of the many other parks. I hope their $20 they took will offset the many people who will NOT stay their. And besides the park was dusty, hilly and very difficult to get a big rig or large trailer into. Beware! AVOID this RV Park.
