It was incredibly serene and tranquil. Even during the weekend, perhaps only a handful of cars passed by. Our initial plan was to stay for a couple of days, but we ended up spending four days there.

If it has recently rained, it might be a good idea to leave your vehicle in the city and check the conditions. The road is not well-maintained and features a steep decline in the center. We once set up camp on one side of this decline, and another time we approached from route 177. We preferred the spot closer to route 177 as it was quieter and had excellent T-Mobile reception. Camping along the asphalt road south of the local high school is not permitted, but it seems acceptable to camp beyond the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) staging area. We set up camp near Road #4, which is nearer to Arnett Canyon trail. There was decent Over-The-Air (OTA) TV reception there, but cell reception was poor. It was slightly alarming that people tend to use the OHV parking area for target practice. The area was littered with trash, and we made three trips to the waste disposal facility, which operates on Fridays and Tuesdays from 8am-2pm. Guillermo allowed us to dispose of our trash without a permit and even provided us with trash bags. We discarded four mattresses. We had no issues with security as we spent most of our days rock climbing in Queen Creek or hiking at Picket Post. We could hear coyotes at night and had hummingbirds visit our feeders. T-Mobile provided either 5G or high-speed LTE.

Great views. Saw no trash but did hear shooting across the canyon. Only a couple others out here. Road was a little bumpy but could see where the smooth it out.

The road in is kinda rough, but works if you take it slow. Was able to find a spot with views of surrounding cliffs and mountains. Pretty trashy short distance from our site and the area is popular with target shooters. Solid ATT cell service. Close to small town of Superior.

We are on spring break & suddenly it's snowing up north so my 15year old & I were looking for a spot somewhere not as snowy. Someone on a group mentioned Oak Flat (which is up the road), but Arnett looked to be near water. Negatory. It's not. So it's not far from Superior down 177. Once you exit the highway you're on dirt roads. If you don't have clearance, I'd skip this spot. The farther you go back in the less you will see people. The "roads" do get narrow. I got my 2019 4Runner back there pretty well, but there were a few turns I didn't make on purpose. Found a spot finally (bring a saw for jagger branches) along the creek (it's dry). Built a fire ring from creek rocks & pitched our tent after kicking a few dry cow patties out of the flat area. Sawed down a few small trees to put up my pop up & grabbed a drink. We hiked the hilside across the creek. We just did about a mile loop up & back down. Looks like there were some cottonwood croppings farther up stream that I wish I'd seen. Night fell. There was a ton of fallen firewood that we used. We saw a few fire pits around - all hand made. Once night feel a few planes were overhead from the nearby Superior Airport, and we heard some vehicles nearby. I didn't see anyone at all in the evening. Overnight coyotes were pretty loud howling in the distance, and it was a bit windy. This area is really dirty too. Obviously people have used it as a dumping ground. Not everywhere but enough to remind you of it. There are no shade trees. Shrub trees, high grasses, rocks. Mountains around were gorgeous. What else? I don't think I would be back. Wasn't my cup of tea. Pics attached.

25ft Thor class c e350 chassis Go slow. Lots of the spots are accessible if you’re careful. Survey it first because some spots are difficult to accessand other have trash as predicted but the area is beautiful especially down by the creek. We showed up on a Tuesday and almost all of the sites were empty.
