Yellow Jacket RV Resort

Florida, Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika

Paradise is right here on the beautiful Suwannee River. The only place on the Suwannee with FHU Rv-sites right on the river. Heated pool and spa. Boatrentals, boatslips and a boatramp on site. All sites FHU. Nice cottages and a shaded Tentarea. Back in sites, pull thrue and Boddy sites. Most sites on the river are pull in so you can enjoy the river from the comfort of your motorhome. All dogs are very welcome. 352-542-8365, please visit our website. www.yellowjacketrvresort.com

12/17- 12/21 Yellowjacket RV Resort Nice Bit of Paradise on the Banks of the Suwannee River We had a wonderful stie overlooking the river. We could see the fish rolling in the river and watch the water roll by. The staff was very accommodating and helpful even though we arrived right at the office closing time (and had changed our dates because I forgot how a calendar worked). We took advantage of the hot tub and pool in the evening, and they really made the day wind down nicely. Enjoying cooking outside and fire in the evening made the stay relaxing. A few things to keep in mind- these are not negatives in our point of view but information. The ground is mostly lime rock with sand covering it. It is normal for that area of Florida and campers should prepare for sand. We did not find it troublesome and had no issue dealing with it, but some might. There was no Verizon cell service and basic Wi-Fi.

We would rate the resort a 5 if based on the people only. The work campers were extremely nice and some of them were our neighbors who we got to know. We arrived before check-in, which we tend to do. Normally it isn't an issue. No one was in the office. They take lunch from 12:00 to 1:00. No big deal as we had our home with us and waited. The woman at the front desk was very nice. She told us how to get to our site. With her directions and the site map we had difficulty finding our site. The site we had was not right in the center of the campground (we did ask for a secluded site when making our reservation). Our site was down a dead end road. The site was covered in leaves so it was hard to tell it was even a site. It was strange as it was called a pull-thru site but you drove in facing the woods. We unhitched and we had to drive the truck around some trees through a grassy area and park it behind our rig. As I'm writing this review we are still here, so to get out we are going to back-up into the site behind us (thankfully no one is in that site). Currently there are now boats parked in the grassy area next to us. We are hoping there is enough room to get the truck in and over to our rig to hitch up without having to ask for them to be moved (should be interesting!). CONS: -Cell Service. We use the Verizon App and the app showed there was coverage in this location. We knew we were in trouble when we pulled in and saw one bar. With our booster we had 1 bar of 4G. We are not able to work with this. Luckily the campground has Wi-Fi. We got here shortly before Christmas. Wi-Fi worked really good until the 1st of January when the campground became busier. We would log in and work early in the morning. Around 10:00 in the morning it would become bogged down. It was not dependable. It wouldn't have been an issue if we did not work fulltime and rely on having coverage. -Loss of Power: While we were here we lost power 3 times. 2 times it was down for a few hours. We have solar, but because we were using their Wi-Fi we had no internet. -Sugar Ants: We read in the reviews about ants. They do have them. We were infested, but bought some ant cups and spray and the situation was under control in a couple days. If you decide to stay here we suggest coming prepared. -Campsite: The site we stayed at was somewhat secluded, but we ended up raking it ourselves as it looked like it hadn't been clean for sometime. We would not call this a pull-thru site, but you cannot back-in as the hook-ups would be on the wrong side. We had a fire ring, but did not use. It was located in a strange location, almost in our neighbors site. If we had to do this again we would probably choose one of the river sites. We did notice, however, that these sites have the hook-ups on the opposite side, so if you backed-in your electric and water would be on the opposite side. It looked like they had sewer on both sides. PROS: -Laundry Room: Very clean laundry room with plenty of washer and dryers. $2.25 a load. -People: The people here were very friendly. We were invited to a birthday party for one of the campground workers and they have potluck dinners every other Tuesday night. We read on the reviews about a grumpy guy, but we did not encounter him or he may not be here anymore. -Pool and hot tub: We did not use as it was extremely chilly when we stayed here. -Boat Rentals: You can rent one of the boats for the full day or 1/2 day. Prices vary. -Noise: It was pretty peaceful and quiet here except for the occasional gunshot you may hear from people hunting. Because of the cell service we would not stay here again. It just didn't work for us with having to work full-time. It may, however, work for others that are not needing to have cell coverage. Our neighbor said it best, "It is an ok place but there are better places to be."

This place is nasty!! Owners are nasty!!! No cell phone service, cable was snowy, and internet did not work. I have stayed several times in this campground this past weekend was the worse. We were told we were too loud at 7pm we turned it down left our site and went to another site that was being louder than us hung with them at quiet time it was not loud at all but the jerk that was a couple of sites down felt the need to come over and tell us we were too loud. The next morning the campground showed up with the sheriffs department telling us that we had to leave and they would not refund our money. We did leave to avoid further confrontation. In the state of FL you are required to give written notice and reimburse for all unused nights. I am still waiting to hear back from them since they broke the law. I do not recommend this place if you like to sit outside your camp and spend time with your family. Now if you like to hang indoors by all means please visit it you will be very happy.
