A grassed creek flat surrounded by White Ironbark forest with a thin understudy of wattle and brush, wildflowers and old gold diggings with Grey Box and Red Ironbark on the flinty ridges.
This a pleasant, quiet site in spring and autumn, although it may be hot and dusty in summer. The fenced formal facility (shelter, table, 2 BBQs, & WC), established as a bicycle trail camp, has limited shade but there are many informal shaded sites nearby, including a large bush camp site just up the nearby road on the right. Rated 3.9/5 Peppercorn, apple, quince, grape and cacti are remnants of mining settlements, which were extensive through this forest. The Waanyarra Creek is normally dry.
