We reached the Fort close to midnight, the evening prior to our scheduled check-in. We were allowed to place our camper in the extra parking area. The area is enormous. Navigating through the camping site and parking can be slightly challenging. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any problems while reversing into our spot, unlike the difficulties we've heard others mention. There are numerous activities to engage in here, so I highly suggest using a golf cart or bicycle unless you enjoy walking. They provide a bus service exclusively for the campsite. The camping spots are well spaced, surrounded by numerous trees, so be ready to clear off your slides. The Wi-Fi service was decent, but not dependable. We made use of our starling and luckily, there was sufficient space between the trees at our spot to utilize it. Some spots seemed to be completely covered. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would be thrilled to return during the Halloween or Christmas season.

Our accommodation was in a simple, fully-equipped area, which was sufficient as our intention was to spend the entire day at the parks. The camping spots were flat and asphalted, and there was a bus service from the area that could transport you throughout the camping site or to the station for other parks. We certainly intend to revisit and stay for an extended period to further explore and appreciate the camping site.

Checking in - It's a breeze if you do it online. Just get to Fort Wilderness, tell the staff you've done your check-in online, and they'll verify it on their gadget. They'll then provide you with maps and easy-to-follow instructions to your site. If you haven't checked in online, there's a large registration area where you can sort everything out in classic Disney style and efficiency. Advice - For those with rigs over 42', we found the loops under 1000 to be quite narrow and tight, so make your booking accordingly. As newcomers, the area and facilities can seem a bit daunting at first, but once you settle in, you'll realize everything is designed for convenience and efficiency. So, don't let it all overwhelm you, just take it in stride. We didn't feel the need to rent a cart; we relied on our feet and the bus service for all our transportation needs. However, if you're keen on exploring everything Fort Wilderness has to offer, a cart would be quicker. We found Frog Togs' cooling towels to be a lifesaver against the heat and humidity. You can buy them at the park or save a lot by buying them before you arrive. One final piece of advice, visit the parks early, take a break in the afternoon when it's hottest, then return in the evening when it's cooler and the lights are on. If you're in the military, get your park tickets at the base! Highlights - The location is fantastic. Being so close to everything Walt Disney World offers is a real bonus. The transportation options are excellent; we didn't need our truck at all during our week-long stay. The facilities at Fort Wilderness are also top-notch. We spent most of our time at The Settlement, which has lots to do and see before you board the boat to Magic Kingdom or the bus to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Disney's customer service is unparalleled and always makes you feel special. Yes, everything

We occupied the grassland spots in the 1000 circuit. Pleasant location, even as well. On this occasion, we simply remained to appreciate the Fort. Engaged in equestrian activities... Also indulged in some retail therapy at Disney springs.

This campsite's appeal lies in its location within Disney. The allocated space was cramped and crowded. The utilities were inconveniently positioned, with the sewer being too distant for me to access, forcing me to empty our tanks as we departed. While the eateries on the premises were not operational, a few local food trucks were available in the evenings. The highlight of this experience was the ability to step out of our RV, walk for ten minutes to the water taxi, and be directly transported to the Magic Kingdom. This was particularly beneficial when returning from the park with our sleeping infant in the stroller, as we didn't have to disturb her sleep. Ensure you bring all necessities as shopping options in the vicinity are limited.

After receiving glowing reviews about this campsite and making my inaugural visit to Disney World, I chose to lodge here. Although I found the campsite pleasant, it fell short of my anticipations (perhaps they were too lofty.) I found certain aspects favorable, others needing enhancement, and gathered some insights that could be useful to future campers. Would I lodge here again? I'm uncertain. If I ever revisit Disney World, I believe this could be an ideal accommodation due to its proximity. While the complimentary transit to the parks was appreciated, it was somewhat lacking. If this same campsite, with all its features, was situated elsewhere (excluding association to the Disney theme parks) and priced the same, I wouldn't lodge here again. My final verdict is that the only aspect justifying the price is the location, and even that is arguable. Reservation: I made my reservation last summer online. I didn't have specific dates so I tailored our trip around the most affordable package price for our campsite and park tickets. Here's a piece of advice: if you want a precise breakdown of your campsite expenses, ensure you capture the prices when you're making the reservation. Once the reservation was made and I paid, I could only see the total package price. I attempted to contact Disney prior to my stay and was informed they could only see the package total. The resort itself couldn't provide any details. I'm awaiting a response from the billing department to see if they have a detailed statement. It's not a big issue, just a matter of interest. Before check-in: Approximately a month before my stay, Disney mailed some discount vouchers and a "magical savings card." Since I'm a full-time camper and had already left my parents' home (where I receive mail), I reached out to Disney. They couldn't assist me, but suggested I inquire at the campground check-in. Since the vouchers and card are required to get the discount, I asked upon check-in.

We revisited Fort Wilderness for the second time, and our experience was similar to the first, except for the unavailability of the larger pool area due to ongoing construction, which we were informed about prior to making our reservation. This time, we opted for a standard site, considering that during our previous visit we ended up with a standard site despite paying for a preferred one due to accessibility issues. The process of site allocation is rather perplexing. When you make a reservation at this campground, you only choose a type of site, not a specific one. There seems to be an option to request a particular site, but we haven't quite grasped how that works. Twice now, we've been assigned initial sites that we couldn't maneuver our vehicle into because of our turning radius and various obstacles like trees, posts, or other campers' vehicles. This created a lot of tension, especially when the staff mentioned that the park was fully booked and they might not be able to accommodate us elsewhere (although they did, and we managed to fit into our new site). It was somewhat disappointing to be assigned a site upon arrival, only to find it inaccessible and then notice several other sites that would have been an easier fit for our setup (a 34' fifth wheel and F350 dually), but were told those were already reserved. Regardless, once we were settled in, our stay was fantastic! Disney seems to have some secret method to keep bugs at bay, as we didn't encounter a single mosquito during our stay, even while hosting family in a tent behind our vehicle. Our site had an excellent tent pad, but we did need to buy an additional sewer hose to reach the sewer inlet when our vehicle was parked on the concrete pad. If you weren't using the tent pad, you could probably park your vehicle there and manage with two hoses. Site 1730 was conveniently located next to the restrooms/showers, which was great for those sleeping in the tent. We loved the

While this campground is amazing and you can stay here alone and not go to parks with all the things to do the streets are narrow and the sites are just big enough. Not friendly to anyone not comfortable backing a big trailer in narrow margins.

“The Fort” is best described as having the atmosphere of a state park and the amenities of a Disney resort. There is forest, wildlife, hiking, biking, fishing, campfires, sing-a-longs… and S’MORES, but there are also modern facilities, shops, restaurants, entertainment, and more (did we mention S’MORES?!?!). You can rent golf carts, and fishing or pontoon boats. Or if you can let someone else do the driving and charter a fishing trip or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the resort! And since all of this is located within the Walt Disney World Resort complex, you get free transportation to all of the parks and Disney Springs, access to Extra Magic Hours, and all the other Disney perks of staying on-property. Pro tips: ▪ All of these sites are back-in. Generally, there is sufficient room to get in and out of your site, but it can occasionally be a challenge for longer rigs or at Halloween and Christmas due to camper decorations. ▪ Book EARLY, especially for holidays or Disney special events. ▪ Watch the Electrical Water Pageant and the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach. ▪ Take the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom. ▪ If it’s your first trip, DON’T use online check-in. Check-in at the gate so you get all the maps, guides, activity schedules, and the whole check-in experience. Pros: ▪ It’s Walt Disney World! ▪ Level, Paved sites ▪ Forest setting with resort amenities ▪ Lots of scheduled activities (some free, some paid) ▪ Plenty of room to roam (trails, walking paths, beach area, etc) ▪ Pet friendly - Cons: ▪ Cost ▪ Usually crowded, especially during holidays and events ▪ Difficult to make a reservation at peak times

It is always a privilege and a pleasure to stay at fort wilderness. Premium full hookup sites with 50 amps is this airstream owner’s dream. Sites are consistently clean and the staff is incredibly helpful with reservations. Have spent the last few Christmases here and hope to spend more in the future. Wonderful transportation to parks, shopping, and other resorts. Brand new horse stable too! Bathhouses are nicer than most people’s home bathrooms. Laundry is affordable and machines are clean and plentiful.

We stayed here and enjoyed the Fort Wilderness and all that Disney has to offer. Check in was easy and we received Magic Bands to use at the store and to access places around the park (had we purchased theme park tickets those would have been loaded on the bands too!). NOTE: we left our bands at the camper the first day as we were touring in Universal all day and didn't want to lose them, however you need at least one band to re-enter the campground quickly. No big deal we just called the attendant and showed an ID, but we made sure to bring a band on the other days we left the campground) There were great trails and places to explore/walk/jog. We loved the Hoop de Doo Revue and the food was amazing. The sites were pristine, ice and laundry were available at the showers. The Trading Posts had everything you might need to throw together a quick dinner or to help with things you might have forgotten at home. We didn't use the cable hook-up as our coaxial cable was too short (we could have purchased a longer one if we had wanted). We saw flocks of wild turkeys most mornings.

We fell in love with Fort Wilderness Campground 25 years ago. It really is not "camping" but more like a Disney resort. The sites are great! This year we stayed in a loop that we have never been in before, 1700 loop. At first we were concerned but after seeing it and setting up camp we fell in love with it. We also happened to have a (hidden) WiFi tower next to us and the fastest internet ever! The sites are spread apart and we had a lot of room to stretch out! The downside was we were going to skip renting a golf cart this year (would have been our first year doing so) since the price is about $65 per day. After spending 2 hours walking we decided to give in and rent a golf cart. The carts are expensive but give you the option of riding around to see all of the other 800+ campsites and 400+ cabins. Even though the bus stop is close the convince of a golf cart is hard to beat. I think next time we will get bikes and give that a try, who knows. The campground is truly one of a kind. It really is like a resort, there are two pools, there is a beach but you can't swim at it (think gators). The Chip and Dale campfire sing along with the Disney movie is something to experience. The people, staff and other campers are great! The campground is Disney clean. You can take the boat directly to the Magic Kingdom or other resorts. You can take a bus to Disney Springs (Downtown Disney), or any of the other parks. You can rent a boat for the day, take a fishing excursion on the lake ($270 for 4 hours). The campground is expensive, sites start around $100 and go to about $150 (the differences are the more expensive ones have more cement). We opt for the least expensive ones we can get, if you can get them. Reservations are often tough to get, this place gets more popular every year. My wife and I have always had a dream of staying at the campground and never going into the parks. We love the campground but do not enjoy the crowds at the park, well this year we did just that and had a great time!

When you go somewhere that's so hyped up on a national level, expectations are high. We had done Disney before and this time we were just going to camp there...no parks. After all the rave reviews, we opted for the insanely expensive 4 nights. When we first arrived I was a bit let down. We were not in the premium sites, but we still had full hookups and a concrete pad for our camper, though we didn't fit entirely on the concrete. While the area was wooded, the first thing I noticed was how eroded everything was. Many sites around us had 2-3' dropoffs all around the pad. Some didn't even have space for the picnic table. We lucked out with a site that backed up against the woods, which I was really hoping for. It gave us a modicum of privacy and woodsiness that most of the sites there didn't have. As the days went on, I started to see the value of this park. While I still wasn't in love with the sites, I could see why this place costs more. The park is fully staffed by "cast members", has 2 pools, has public transportation, has two outposts for shopping, has bike trails and the like. We spent much of our days at the main pool which was nice. You can bring a cooler with you and hang out all day if you like. Alcohol is allowed which is nice. (better to bring your own than pay $8.50 for a beer!) If you want a spot by the pool, I highly recommend showing up between 9-10 to snag a spot, otherwise you're going to be out of luck. We compared our non-premium site to the premium sites and we preferred ours. While there's less concrete at the non-premiums, there's more space. The premium sites were stacked even more closely together. As far as location in the campground, if you have a bike, the whole campground felt accessible with a 5 minute bike ride. It's about a mile loop on the main road for instance. One thing I didn't love is that we had no information given to us at checkin. We got a map but that was it. We weren't told about whether there was trash pickup, how to access transportation, etc. We felt a bit in the dark upon arrival. Overall, I'd consider staying here again, but not for $150+.

We stayed here so our daughter and us could visit the Disney theme parks. It was a no-brainer to stay here when we looked at all of the options due to WDW transportation system. We have stayed at the Contemporary Resort (before our RVing days) before and knew the importance of onsite transit. The check-in process was a little slow but very thorough. Our site was long, wide, level and concrete. We had a good distance between neighbors and it was quiet. From the campground, you can take a boat to the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort and Fort Wilderness Lodge. Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary was a very fun breakfast. We did the Once Upon a Time dinner at Cinderellas Castle and that was great for our daughter. We hung out at the Fort Wilderness pools and they were amazing with lifeguards everywhere. They also had a small food counter that served drinks. Lastly, the Mickey’s Backyard BBQ is a must if you have the time. Also, pay the little extra to get the better seats. They let you in before everyone else to take pictures with the characters. It was well worth the extra $10 per ticket. Oh, also, they topped off one of my propane tanks with 2 gallons at no charge.

This is a park that looks like a state or national park, with reasonably large spots in a heavily wooded forest. Some of the spots will make you feel like you are all alone. But, like much of Disney, if you look too closely, the facade breaks down. Despite the feeling of being in the wilderness, the noise levels are what you would expect for Disney. People let their kids run unchecked, making noise all hours of the day and night. It was common for people to just cross through our spot while we were sitting there, as if we were invisible. Also, people would let their dogs bark all day and night. Many people appeared to have tied their dog to a tree while they went to the parks, and the dogs would bark at anything that moved -- and apparently the owners stayed until the park closed and didn't get back until after 11:00pm. The pool is large but always overrun with kids, basically leaving no room to swim or even wade around without getting bumped or shoved. A cool thing about this campground is that they have a campfire and movies every night, with an appearance by Chip and Dale. Also, they have trail rides. The horn of the train from Magic Kingdom is a constant reminder of where you are. The fireworks and music shows at night also remind you of where you are -- very loud. So while the location is great if you are spending all day at Disney, the camping aspect of it is second-rate. For this price, I want a much better camping experience. Nuts and bolts of the Disney thing: If you want are going to Hoop-de-doo Musical Review, this is the most convenient place to stay, you can walk or catch a bus. If you are going to the other parks and want to use Disney transit, you will need to leave an hour of transit time. First, you have to catch the internal bus to get you to one end of the park or the other. Then you catch the boat by the lake (for Magic Kingdom) or the bus up front (for the other three parks). On average, our transit time from door to door was just over an hour, which meant getting up by 6:30 or so for an 8:00 park opening.

Disney... experience like no other! The good things are the service, beautiful large sites, bus and boat service to the parks, and fireworks on the beach! There are no fire pits at the sites - just a community gathering for Chip and Dale's campfires in the evenings. Also, if you have pets the park is pet friendly, but you could be in for a long walk to the dog park depending on which circle you are on.

There are so many activities here. If you are going to Disney resorts, then there is a boat and bus service that are very convenient. You will need a golf cart, so make your reservations well in advance (about $60 per day). The sites are level and high quality. Full hookups with a hose are included. I didn't feel one mosquito bite while I was there. The sewer is offset, so neighbors have a good view, but it also may mean that you'll need the sewer hose extension for some RVs.

I've read all the reviews and I don't know what more I can say. Great sites with great amenities. We went to the parks, swam at the campground, used the laundry facilities & bathrooms. We had a great experience! The only negative we really had during our stay was the Yellow bus line was inconsistent and spread out a lot more than the other lines. We initially didn't rent a golf cart but ended up getting one for the second half of our stay because the Yellow bus line was unreliable and frustrating. It's really hard to know what we actually paid for our site because we booked it as a package deal with park tickets. I believe the listed rate on the website (before package discounts applied) was around $120 per night. We did not have a premium site, but rather a standard site. It had plenty of room to park our 37 foot travel trailer and truck and still have a sitting area and a place to have our picnic table. We will definitely stay here again.

Disney's Fort Wilderness was insanely expensive, especially the upgraded site we had. For $250/night (Easter week) we were prepared to check it off the list and never stay there again. Within 1 hour we were trying to figure out when we could go back. Yes, the loops are a bit tight for a 44' fifth wheel, but the sites were very easy to back into and quite large. At least ours was. We had a huge area to our side and behind us. A great dog walk path behind us. We were a short walk from the restaurants and boat area. The grounds were amazing. So quiet and well kept. I wish we were there for weeks and able to enjoy more of what they offered. We also got to see some of the fireworks and the electrical water parade from the beach! Another pleasant surprise was how much we enjoyed the food at the BBQ restaurant as well as the food trucks. And of course the best wifi service of any campground we've been to yet.

My family visited Disney fort wilderness 25 years ago on a cross country vacation and fell in love with it. We dreamed of going back but struggled with the distance and just never made it. Springing forward I was transferred just 10 hours away so we made a return visit...well more like three visits this year. It lived up to everything we remembered. It is hardly camping with cable water sewer shopping transportation and concierge on site. We stayed in a 73 foot site in the 800 loop number 34, which is close to everything in the resort. I highly recommend the stay, but warn that larger rv may be challenged in backing into the sites themselves. They are pretty tight when the other guests cars are in the way.

Let me start this by saying, do your research on the different type of sites that are available. Our next visit we will stay in a premium site in the 400 or 700 loop where the sites are full concrete. We’re glampers for sure!!! Make sure to get up early and walk the horse stables, they bath the horses that will be pulling carriages at the Magic Kingdom and you can see them up close. My kids were fascinated by it. We got a prefered site, your RV is on a nice flat concrete slab, but the patio area is behind the RV and it was sand. For some, not a big deal, but we have small children and it caused issues, so we weren’t able to use the table area. The BBQ was from before I was born and unuseable. The sewer backed up and I was unable to clean out tanks completely, I had to move sites to dump. When they cleaned the sewer out, they opens the manhole and hundreds of Roaches ran all over the camp, it was gross. Next time we will stay in the premium site and hope for a better experience.

We have stayed here several times and plan to return this Summer. It is everything you would expect from Disney. Clean, lots to do, spectacular staff. The access to the parks from the campground is via bus or boat. We noticed that even though the campground is always full you never seem to feel crowded like you do when you stay on hotels on Disney property. This is truly the most expensive place we have ever camped and well worth it.

TWO PEAS AND THE POD

First off Fort Wilderness is definitely a resort and not a campground! Most but not all sites were occupied by large Class A coaches and 5th wheels, not people camping in tents and smaller trailers. As a campground it's nice but not worth three times the price you would normally pay at a beautiful Florida State Park. The only reason the park can charge these rates is because it makes it so convenient to hop on a bus or a boat for free transportation to all of the Disney properties. I really appreciated the fact that once I was set up on my site I didn't once have to move my truck during the entire five days we were there. I was able to visit all the parks and Disney Springs several miles away and not have to worry about driving, finding a place to park and paying the additional fees, or even have to remember where it was that I parked in the mile long parking lots. So in the end I am glad we stayed in the park but I don't expect a return visit! We visited this campground from 01/13/19 until 01/18/19.

We stayed December 16-19. I am a Disney parks superfan so we HAD to visit Fort Wilderness. Now, for those hyping it as the best campground in America...I don't know about that. But if you love Disney it is by far the best deal and best way to stay on property while visiting the parks. I reserved in May for December and there wasn't tons available, but the customer service worked with me to find some available dates. We paid the highest rates of the year for the Christmas season, but I think it's worth it - and that's coming from folks who usually pay $30/night for camping! Fort Wilderness is famous for the decorated campsites at Christmas time and let me tell you it is extreme! We could have spent several evenings walking around the campground looking at the lights, inflatables, and even a fully built castle! There is so much Christmas cheer here in December that even people not staying in the campground visit to experience it. While here, be sure to catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach one night. I also recommend taking the boat to Wilderness Lodge for some of the fabulous dinners. The biggest plus to Fort Wilderness is you get the same Disney perks as the normal hotel resorts: magic bands, extra magic hours, an incredible pool, activities, great on-site restaurants - all for the fraction of the cost. There's probably availability to arrive prior to check in time, we arrived at 10am and were able to go right to our site! Next time I stay I will request a site closer to settlement, ours was a little too far, and I wasn't willing to splurge for a golf cart like everyone has haha. I would also book so that I have 1-2 days with no parks visits, just enjoying the campground. Have a magical stay!

The sites are cleaned thoroughly before you arrive. RV sites paved and level. Like other parks, I'd like to see a wider road to facilitate backing trailers. In other reviews and blogs, the power pedestals were shown to be old and scary looking. Those in our loop were pretty new. We really loved the shuttle bus and the boat ride into the park. I don't think we waited over 10 minutes for either all the time there. We didn't use all of the amenities, like the pool. Too tired from spending the day in the park. You have heard it before, but I will repeat; the food at all of the Disney places is very high priced.

Spent 5 days mid Apr for CA Spring Break with my grand daughter for one-on-one time for her 13th birthday. Could not have been more perfect. She flew in to MCO, but Disney airport shuttle made this perfect for me since I don't have a dingy. Besides one day at Magic Kingdom for Space Mountain, we thoroughly enjoyed the fun, and often free, offerings at Fort Wilderness. Great natural settings with privacy, full hookups, and exceptionally clean at each site and throughout park. Saw 2 wild turkeys and 5 deer while driving rentable golf carts. Enjoyed the pool, marina boat rides, horseback riding, and the after-hours lighted boat displays and fireworks. Also enjoyed the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review - great food and comedy/musical. It was wonderful to see her laugh so much and really enjoy herself. Doggie park was Fab for Bronson - large/small areas with benches and watering stations. And lots and lots of dogs to play with. Entire stay was truly magical. I've stayed at the Little Mermaid Suites in the past with my entire family, but all future stays will be at Fort Wilderness!!

9/8/2019 - We loved this place. Been to Disney many times, but this was our first Fort Wilderness. Everything clean and Disney-like. The one criticism would be the internal access to sites. Every road is pretty tight and backing in can be tricky for big rigs. Disney should spend some money and open up some new areas for >40ft rigs. We rented a golf cart and were glad we did - much fun. We also rented the small power boat on the lake, also fun. Inside transportation is easy with all the buses and ferry's. Be sure to go to the beach at night for fireworks.

There isn't much more praise I can give this place that hasn't already been stated in other reviews online, so I will just give a few tips based on our experience: - Bring an extension cord: Our site's electric pole was at the very back of the site and required us to use ours - Ask about any events going on before you book: We were there on Marathon weekend and the music and pyrotechnics going on just outside the campground woke us up at 3am! - Bring or rent bikes or a golf cart: This place is massive - Leave extra time and use the Disney app to monitor arrivals/departures if taking Disney buses: We ended up wasting a lot of time waiting on buses - Stock up before arriving: The on-site stores are convenient, but VERY expensive! - Consider the "tent sites": If you have a smaller RV and don't mind just water and electric hookups, you can save a substantial amount of money by staying in this section. The sites are just as well maintained and I saw quite a few vans, small campers, & even some class C's that fit just fine in these spacious sites. The front desk was so helpful. This place is usually booked solid in the winter, and they still managed to help us extend our stay by 3 nights without having to move sites!

By far the most enjoyable campground we've stayed at and by far the most expensive. Part of Walt Disney World, Fort Wilderness is a free boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom and a bus ride away from the other parks. We stayed in the cheapest loops (tents, pop-ups & campervans) with water & electric and the price was $150 a night. Prices change depending on the dates and we stayed during Easter week. Comfort stations, with flushing toilets, laundries, showers and ice machines were clean and up to date. Unfortunately only 2 of the 4 showers were working. Most sites had some shade, some had lots of shade. A concrete pad, grill & picnic table are provided. Recycle bins and trash bins are close to all sites. Sites are hosed down after campers depart. There is not a feeling of being crowded; many large open spaces and woods throughout the campground. There really is nothing else like Fort Wilderness Campground. It's huge. Many people either rent golf carts to get around or bring their own. Internal buses also get you around the campground. You cannot drive your car to get around the campground. 2 Trading Posts, a bar, a restaurant, a quick service take-out, a food truck, 2 pools, a beach area (no swimming), 4 playgrounds, a large dog park, tennis courts, canoeing/kayaking, fishing , carriage rides, bike rentals, scheduled kids' pool activities and so much more. Many of the extra activities also carry an extra cost. The Disney parks are at your fingertips, but you could spend a week just enjoying the resources at the campground. Fort Wilderness feels calm and relaxing and is beautifully landscaped. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

We loved the location and the transportation buses (boat to MK) available to get to the parks. With that said, you MUST rent a golf cart BEFOREHAND if you want to get around the resort (to get to the pool, eating places, archery, marina & other resort amenities) When we got there all the golf carts were sold out for the duration of our stay. We tried to use the vehicle we towed but there is not car parking at the amenities inside the park. Keep that in mind. If you are utilizing only the accommodations & Disney Parks then no golf cart is needed. Just a heads up. The park was extremely clean. Pool with a slide and splash pad was a huge hit with our family. The sites are small, not much room to move around. We loved the food trucks that were there a few nights during our stay!! Great WiFi. We loved that there were trash and recycle stations at every other campsite. Very convenient.

I don’t know if covid put a it of a damper.. but it wasn’t as good as we expected especially for the price we paid. We rounded up with the taxes and dog fee for each night. Our total was 590 that included 3 tickets to blizzard beach @70.00 per ticket. Not all amenities are open. No Florida resident discount, or any for that matter. Sites are tight (if you are not use to backing into tight spots tell them at check in and they will send you help, but we are pros 😁) the site are very private and spacious. The worse part was the millions of people hauling ass around like they are driving in Cairo in their golf carts. It is a big park, but getting around on your bike is perfect (apart from the fear of being hit by a speeding golf cart). Bathrooms are very clean and so it the laundry ($3.00 per load each) there is a free ice machine near the bathrooms on the side. They are very covid mask wearing strict 🙄. I will not return here until this covid is over. I would probably stay at one if there resorts due to the similar cost. WiFi is free and works great.

Second stay at the campground. Great amenities. We travel with a dog. They have a nice dog park. Both sites we have had were large. Good cell signal, but also the Wi-Fi at the campground works well. I work remotely and had no issues. Recommend bikes or renting a golf cart as the campground is very large, but vey walkable too. There is bus transportation to and from parks. Also a water shuttle to the Magic Kingdom. Overall a nice campground.

I wanted to really love this experience. Just not sure I can. Arrival was painless, the site was clean and had been prepped for us. Water and power were both good. The shower house bathroom was always clean and stock, the shower had plenty of hot water and was clean. The issues that make me unsure if it is a good experience or not. the other campers......wow so inconsiderate of other guest. Loud music, unsupervised kids, Huge mounds of trash. Trash can was set on fire a couple of time because people were dumping their fire pit into it. The golf carts, the endless parade of golf carts going round and round. the campsites with half a dozen tents and 30 campers with associated kids, bikes cars, toys The pool, tough to relax with 20 kids playing tag in the entire pool area, not to mention jumping and playing in the hot tub. The Food, we ordered some ribs and fried chicken only to wake up with food poisoning, so we were violently ill for a day and a half. The site was nice, the campground was well maintained as was the pool and walkways. Then the value for dollars paid. Really hard to justify spending $150 per night for a water and electric only site. Just not worth it.

Every loop and every site within the park looked to be great. The campground is huge, we took long walks every morning and saw much of the park and it all looked spectacular. We loved all the big trees and it truly does feel like a wilderness. So much so that we saw numerous deer and wild turkeys on our walks. The facilities (bathrooms, showers) were very up-to-date and clean. The accessibility to get to the different parks via the boats was great. We appreciated the lengths that Disney has gone to keep all of their guests COVID safe. The site was level and utilities were easy to access. The roads are somewhat narrow, but backing in was acceptable. There is lots of privacy between sites. Check-in process was easy, however, they give you a lot of verbal information at the gate which I would have appreciated in writing somewhere that I could reference later as it was a lot of helpful information. We had a great stay and would look forward to another visit!

The campground was very clean and in true Disney fashion, felt like another world. Every loop had lights and Mickey decor all over, which added to the special feel. The sites in our loop were spacious and private, which we really enjoyed. We loved the trails all throughout the park and the whole thing was so vast. The playground near our site was great and the pool was so cool! Both pools are heated and the one pool on the RV side had an awesome slide that the kids loved! The campground is pet friendly, but we boarded our dog at their daycare which was great! In the morning you can take a bus to the Disney Parks or you can take the boat which again was very magical!! My only issues with Fort Wilderness were the laundry facilities (they were SO smelly and dirty) and the lack of entertainment during our stay. The food places were operating on a smaller menu and there were no fireworks or characters or shows like usual. The little outpost store was also closed. I understand this is because of COVID, but despite the closures, the price is still extremely high. I would probably wait to come back until after the pandemic so that we could enjoy everything Fort Wilderness has to offer. Bring bikes or you can rent a golf cart, because it’s the only way to get around. Their stores and facilities (pool, laundry, etc) do not offer car parking, only golf cart parking. Golf cart rental is around $60 per day FYI. And one final note, masks are required and are STRONGLY enforced, but Disney sells really adorable character options for kids and adults to wear during their stay!

The spots are close but lots of things to do. The area is huge and you need to take a bus or have a golf cart to get around.

What an amazing campground! As a local, I've always wanted to stay at Fort Wilderness, but most of the time it was not available due to the high demand camping location. We knew that if we ever had a chance to book a reservation, it would be right after COVID, since international borders. Staff was super friendly, as expected! Our site was clean, even and had a table and a grill. Unfortunately there was no fire pit. We were tent camping and since we had full electrical access, we plugged our heater to it to keep us warm and toasty at night. Campground had amazing amenities and recreational activities, too many to name. We canoed through the small river, kids rode ponies, visited Epcot for half day and the rest of the time enjoyed the outdoors. Highly recommend!

The spaces are very close together. No way to walk outside without full view of every space around you. The roads are super tight and the tight corners make all the driving blind. Have to drive super slow to avoid the many obstacles. All back in sites. No way to get into them without driving over one or more of the neighboring sites. Hope they happen to be there because it’s very likely they have to move something in order for you to get in. Only one tiny spot to drop a toad. If it’s in use you are parked in the middle of the road waiting. If you don’t have a golf cart you can’t park at the restaurants. No, they don’t have a golf cart. We were here when it was super slow and they were sold out of golf carts. If they do have them, add another $60 a day to the already super expensive site cost. Way too expensive for what you get. There is nothing special about the place and many negatives. Best to avoid.

Stayed for a week the first week of 2022. Back in. Full hookups. Expensive but is right on Disney and really convenient to see the parks. So, just depends on the value you put on it. Can't give it a 5 start because there are better luxury RV parks with better wifi and sites. Wifi was "available" but we could not connect at all during the entire week, which is nice so that we can work without using our hotspots. So, worked solely on our normal hotspots (which is what we rely on anyway). Just expected good wifi for being at Disney. If you stay here, consider renting a golf cart to get around the campground for food and such. Vehicles can't access much of the campground to keep it safe for pedestrians and animals, which is actually nice. Overall, a great place to stay if you are visiting Disney parks. :)
