Had a great time at the park, there was a plethora of activities. The city was vast, but we didn't venture out. We registered for a campsite online, which required us to provide a detailed list of everything we were packing, along with a picture identification.

The Spring Creek Park Campground, which is open to the public at no cost, permits each guest to stay for a maximum of seven days. The park's gates are secured at 10 in the evening and reopened around 7 in the morning. The campsite provides comprehensive hookups and some areas are shaded by trees. When we were getting settled, the park's supervisor approached us for check-in, shared the restroom passcode, and did not disturb us for the remainder of our stay. The Starlink connection was inconsistent, with download speeds of 29 and upload speeds of 7. Our phones, which use Verizon, had a signal strength of 2 bars. However, both AT&T and Verizon had a stronger signal of 4 bars when accessed through the cellular antenna.

I didn't realize that a booking was necessary for this complimentary campsite. I was asked to depart by the park official at 9 p.m. amidst a severe downpour, with the roads beginning to flood. Fortunately, I managed to navigate through the waterlogged streets and reach the freeway, but then had to seek alternative accommodations for the evening. Although the site is appealing, take heed of the need to reserve a spot at least 10 days before your intended visit.

I kind of don't want to share this one. But I am because I love all you fellow RVers. This park, an hour outside of Houston, is at Spring Creek Park in the town of Tomball, TX. It has full-hookups (50/30/20A, H2O, Sewer) and its FREE. That is right. It is free. And you can stay for 7 days. Sites are concrete pads and are very level. There is a public restroom with showers across from the 10 sites. Cell service is okay. We were able to work all day using Verizon hotspot without a booster without issue. Park is beautiful, but busy. Quieter in the morning, but traffic (car and foot) picks up in the afternoon and into the evening. Park gates are closed and locked at 10pm, so if you want to get back in with your car, you've got to be home before then. Call for reservations; not sure about their walk-up policy. When we arrived our site was open, but nothing was marking that it was reserved, so be sure to call to reserve beforehand or at least when you arrive. (http://www.hcp4.net/Community/Parks/Reservations) While we were here, there were only 4-5 rigs at any given time. We called ~2 months in advance and had no trouble booking for a full week. Make sure to call and cancel if you end up not coming or they state 'you wont be able to book again.' Tomball itself is a busy little city with all the necessities. Did I mention this place is FREE?

The good - FHUs for free and located in a very nice park. The bad - They double booked our space; however, they did accommodate us in Space 3, but is very close to Space 2 which was occupied. A couple of steps out the door and you would step on their sewer hose. The ugly - The bath house...glad we had full hookups. Spring Creek Park is a very nice park and while busy during the afternoon, it was quiet at night. You do get locked in at night if that bothers you. The sites are concrete pads with FHU located at the back and all the sites are back-in. Plenty of OTA channels and Verizon service was good.

What a gem!! Beautiful levelled concrete pads with FREE full hook up. Everything looks brand new. There is even a shower building across the road (not super clean, but who cares when you have full hook-up). The park is fully fenced and the gates closed at 10 pm and reopen at 7 am. There is some traffic in the park during the day, but it's super quiet at night. There is a beautiful large play park and a huge covered areas with tables. If you are planning to stay there, you should call during the week between 8 am and 4 pm (Mon-Fri) to make a reservation (free, of couse). Since, we ry plan anything in advance, we showed up on a Saturday night at 6 pm and took the last site (there are 8). There is no office or ranger on-site, but ranger drives by pretty often during the day, so the next morning, he told us the site was reserved and that we had to leave (check-out is at 10 am). He let us stay as long as the people weren't there (he was a nice guy!). By 6 pm, two sites were still empty (it was raining), but he asked us to leave nonetheless in case the people that had reserved showed up... so we went to the nearby Walmart (in Tomball too).

We stay here when visiting our daughter and her family who live near here. 8 sites with level concrete pads. Be aware W/E service is at the back of the sites and may require extensions and be sure to back as far in as practical. Restrooms and shower is across the street from the camp sites. No cable or WIFI. OTA television has over 60 stations. About 2 miles from restaurants, groceries and shopping in Tomball, there is minimart about 1/2 mile. This is the only Harris county park with RV sites. The park is open to the public so there is a lot of daytime activity also because it is open don't leave anything outside that may disappear after dark and secure your RV when you leave for the day. Park is locked down for the night from 10pm to 7am. Reservations are required, there is no place to check in, just find the correct marked campsite and park. A park worker will stop by and check on you. I had a person that grew up in the area parked next to me on one visit and he said his father would not let him come to the park because of the drug traffic. There was an overdose in the park while we were there so it does have that negative. It is patrolled by the county sheriff so actual crime is limited. Lots of activities for children, swimming pool, basketball courts, tennis courts, ball grounds and walking trails. I will stay here again.

Great place to set up for up to a week! Reservations required, but a free, full hookup site is worth it. Gates lock at 10 but it is quiet after that. Scouts camped over the weekend, but not too noisy.

Wonderful little city park just North of Houston. We stayed for just the 1 night via a reservation. We were the only tent campers. Nice picnic table, huge firepit, water spigot, and electric hookup were all included. Plus there are showers in the bathroom so very convenient. The gates lock at 10 so make sure you have everything before then. Very cute little area and served it's purpose as a place to sleep on our way out West. I will say you're basically in a suburban neighborhood so there is a lot of street noise.

Our first time at a public park like this. We obviously enjoyed the free hookups but the RV spots weren’t very private to all the park traffic. The playgrounds stayed full which my daughter loved. Now the annoying part…. Nearly everyday we (the adults, kids, and dogs…) were woken up at 8am on the dot by them weed eating/ mowing/ collecting our trash (right outside our door)/ etc. it was frustrating. That being said- the staff was so nice. Our cat got out and got lost. They helped us look everywhere and allowed us to hang posters (we found our cat a day later thank goodness). Overall, it’s a good stop for a free stay. Very well maintained.

Visiting family in Tomball made this a perfect fit. The reservation process was a little involved and required multiple emails and a photocopy of your drivers license. I reserved two months in advance and got the days I needed. Sites and hookups are top notch. The park is primarily used by walkers and there was a basketball camp in the morning when we were here. It was just the right level of activity to make the park feel safe. There are always employees nearby and they were all helpful and friendly. Police patrol regularly. We did not use the shower house, but saw some local transients use them each day. The gate is locked from 10 PM till 6 or 7 AM and you can not leave or enter when it is closed. Normal city and traffic noise during the day, quiet at night. If you need to be in Tomball or want to visit Houston this is a great free site. All in all it was much better than expected and it is great the city provides the service. Good shopping close with easy driving.

We went to the website and filled out a reservation request. When we didn't hear back by the near end of the business day, we called. The message was to leave a name and number and we'd get a call back, and as an option go to our site to complete the reservation request. No callback and so next morning we called again. Same message and we left another message saying we are driving and need to know if a spot was available either way so we could make a plan. 4 more calls and still no human to speak to. We arrived at the park and set up at site 8 (because the website showed it was available). Just as we finished settling in, Danny the security guy drove up to us and said we had to leave if we didn't have a reservation. We explained our history with the website and the no return calls from anyone (and that we saw site 8 was open online). He held his ground for a while, then decided that we could stay, and move over to site 5 in the morning. He was nice enough to come by with their reservation form so that we would have it, and we stayed at site 5 2 more nights without any other issues. Once we got past the arrival glitch, we can say that, for free, this site simply cannot be beat. The sites are concrete pads next to water, electric and sewer, and your own personal garbage can in a fenced in corral. It is a lovely park and we felt very safe here. The bathrooms were strange but not complaining because a. free, and b. hot showers are always welcome :-) They are grimy and built to withstand the punishment that can sometimes be dealt by the n'er-do-wells of public places. The toilets, urinals, and sinks were made of hard shiny metal. The mirrors were actually shiny metal too. The showers were semi-open and had the water/air mixed heads which felt like you were barely getting wet. This was tough because we stayed during a terrible cold spell that reached 30 degrees one night. Still not complaining just sharing. There is a coin-op laundromat and car wash just 1 mile north of this park which was very handy. We highly recommend this park, and would like to thank Danny and the city of Tomball for making this little gem available to us. If you plan to go - book well in advance. Apparently you'll need to have a hard copy of your reservation with you when you arrive.

This is a county park, requires reservations, but we got in right away. 8 beautiful sites total. Water electric and sewer hookups and garbage at each level concrete pad site. Clean Showers across the street. This is a very well kept gem. County constable patrols the area and gate closes at 10 pm. There is a nice trail for running walking or cycling I had it at a 2 mile loop. only draw back was Houston traffic yuk. Plenty of tv channels available as well

We really enjoyed our stay! We could only get reservations for 3 nights but that better then none. Full hook ups including a shower across the street. The city park employees were wicked nice, Michael help us get set up. Free disc golf, archery range, 2 playgrounds, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Also a couple walking trails. We did encounter a few ants, but we just went and got traps. Walmart, Kroger, Starbucks, laundry and a bunch of restaurants within 3 miles. We also went to the Tomball library located at the Lone Star collage campus, free computer access for 2 hours!

Very nice park with 8 RV sites (full hookup) and tent camping. Oh, and did I mention its FREE! But you must reserve a space 2 weeks in advance on line! Clean showers & restrooms. Gates close at 10pm for security. They have covered & lit basketball courts, volleyball, lit tennis courts, pavilions you can schedule in advance, disc golf course and an archery field...and yes, all free! The RV sites are level and paved concrete with 30/50 amp connections, water & sewer, a trash can staff empties but no picnic table so bring your own table & chairs. Plenty of local restaurants and things to do.

What a gem. Free camping with full hooks ups just a short drive from major attractions. But, if you just want to relax this is a great place for that also. The park has playgrounds, basketball, archery, a great trail system and lots of open green spaces. Verizon speeds came in at 23.0 mbps download and 2.33 mbps upload. Tmobile came in at 16.3 mbps download and 2.03 mbps upload.

What more could you ask for? All the above, close to all shopping, great cell service, and site #1 had a picnic table & grill on my camper door side. Yep, only one fellow camper on the other side of me. Just a great place! I'd recommend #1 or #7. They are at the ends of the row of the RV parking back in spots. Reservations can be a bit tricky if trying to schedule online for more than a day or two. I'd recommending calling. The lady working there, Mrs. Weinholzer, is wonderful and super sweet! You can stay here, for free, for up to 7 days per month! Wow! Thank you Harris County and Tomball! What a treat!

You can stay here 7 days for free and though you need to reserve 2 weeks ahead of time, we called the same day and they called us back with a vacancy. Stayed 3 nights. Kids love biking, hiking, and fishing so it was perfect. It's a busy park with lots of amenities, so not super quiet during the day, but by 10 pm, they close the gates and we slept just fine.

There is not much to complain about with this camp site. It is completely free. You need to fill out the form on the website and wait for a reply to see if your dates are available. It has a bath house and rest room across the way from the sites. Toilets were of public rest room decor (all metal, no seat). I didn't have to use them and glad I didn't. Beware of the fire ant. They are all over at this location. It was warm out so I didn't spend much time outside except when I washed the rig and car and that's when 2 got me. That's the bad (and that's not bad at all and I gave 5 stars across the board). Sites were all level and concrete pad. 50/30/20A electric, water and sewer all well maintained. It's a county park so it was really quiet especially at night. Pretty much everything you could want is a 10-15 minutes drive. ATT hotspot worked great. I can't say the same for Verizon. You are allowed to stay 7 days per month and only one reservation allowed at a time. Wish there were more of these out there. I used the local businesses for a number of things. Win Win IMO.
