We arrived at the local fairgrounds, convention center, Sun-Ray racetrack and Casino around 2pm. The provided contact number was not functional. I then dialed 505-325-5415, which is the main line for McGee Park, and selected option 3 to speak to the office manager. The office manager was extremely helpful and informed us that we could choose any parking spot and set up as we pleased. After 4pm, a security officer came by to collect payment, which could be made in cash or check. If we wished to pay with a credit card, we needed to go inside the building and make the payment to the office manager. The location had two waste disposal stations but no water supply. I contacted the office manager regarding drinkable water, and she dispatched a staff member to guide us to a water source located near the showers. The worker also kindly collected our garbage.

Access was easy and the spots were level with 50 amp service, but water had been turned off due to temperatures. We found a spot and called the main fairground office who told us we could park anywhere and across multiple spots since they are typically back-ins in an open parking lot. There are no bathroom/shower, but they do have a dump station. It is a dusty parking lot, but it did feel safe as security regularly patrols it after normal hours. It’s fine as a jumping-off spot to explore the area, just nothing special and very dusty. Keep your expectations relatively low and you will not be disappointed.

Stayed overnight, got in late and left early. Called security to pay. Gate was locked on our way out so we also had to call to get the gate opened.

Good Overnight Spot... as detailed in other reviews, there are hundreds of sites across several gravel (1 paved) parking areas. Few trees. The utilities are arranged on welded pipe fencing along the perimeters and bisecting the lots providing fairly tight back-in spots. This is not an issue though as there are only a handful of rigs at any time and you can get permission to park sideways and occupy 2 or 3 spots. We chose an area close to the guard station. Easy access to dump across from guard station.

We were the only camper there. Super nice security and office staff. No water due to weather being below freezing at night. Otherwise we would stay here again.

Not beautiful but met our needs en route to Albuquerque. It is the RV area for the county fairgrounds. Enormous gravel parking lot divided into five sections. Section five is away from traffic noise. We parked along the back fence near the river. Water was not available although set up for it. Called the number on the security booth when we arrived. He came by around 7 p.m. to collect our fee. Felt safe. Did not see washrooms. We were the only ones there.

This was just someplace to stop when passing through. Nice and quiet. Go to security office when you arrive they can tell you the options. Sights down by the river are neat. 24 hour security.

We were just getting stopped when security drove up and I asked the rate. I told him I had found it on this site and it said $12. He replied that there were signs all over stating that the price was $30 for water and electric or $12 to dry camp or stay in the parking lot area for free. I also mentioned the lake and he said it was just a runoff pond for the horse pens. We opted to dry camp for free as we have a generator. Very disappointed. Would not come back. It is fine if you want to pay that much to stay I guess.

This park consists of 570+ sites spread over 5 areas. One area is completely paved, and surrounds a parking lot, the other 4 are gravel. Area 5 is bordered by the river on one side, and animal pens / a horse ring on the other side. It's super quiet and quite a ways from the road. The sites are all narrow back-ins, but when checking in we were told that we could turn sideways and take up several sites as the park was basically empty. We faced the river all week taking up 4 spots, and there were never more than 4 or 5 rigs in the entire park. There's onsite security, and a casino / restaurant / horse track in front of the park, but we didn't check them out. Lots of shopping options in Farmington, and only an hour from Durango CO and the mountains. The only downsides that we experienced were the occasional "county fair" smell if the wind was coming from the right direction (from the empty animal pen area), and on Friday night there was a small local cow roping event in the horse arena that we had parked directly in front of. But they finished up by about 10, and it really wasn't that noisy. We also noticed more small flies in the RV as the week went on, that were probably coming from the horse arena, or the animal pens. If staying here again we'd move further down area 5 away from the arena, or use area 3 (no animal pens or riding arena, but also no river view).
