I'd put this in the upper half of Thousand Trails parks we have used as members. Staff greeted us and answered our questions. They have a nice collection of souvenirs in the shop. Only about a mile from the beach--easy to get to by bicycle. Wells has a variety of interesting shops, and easy access to I-95 to explore other parts of Maine. We will return for sure!

We pulled in and we’re told to go pick a spot after checking in with not much guidance. We drove around and found a spot that was easy to navigate into. Well the site had trash left on it from previous people the one pile was we don’t even know what. We hooked up power and water which were fine. My husband went to check out the restroom /bath house and said to me don’t even think of going in there it’s disgusting. So we unhooked the trailer and went out for the day as spending time at the sure was not an option here. There were odd looking rental trailers/mobile homes surrounding us and if you sat outside pretty much it was a shared area we were not even certain which fire put was ours. Not sure how there are so many rave reviews this was the worst place we have ever been to and for nearly $100 a night I thought it would at least be kept up. On a side note this morning on our way out we stopped at the restrooms near the entrance and my husband said that bathroom there was clean and kept up crazy how one is in complete disarray and the other was so well kept. More direction from the staff would have been helpful. Extremely disappointed and will not go back.

They added 75 new sites, but only 25 are open to transients. The site we're in was showing low power on the 50 amp plug so we had to move to 30 amps. Luckily the weather is in the 70's to low 80's so AC isn't an issue. The speed here for Verizon is beyond belief. I've got 51mps down and 11mps up using my MOFI device from Amazon. Work, streaming, etc are no problem day or night. The campground is supposed to have good WiFi but who needs it when you've got an unlimited data account? This is a very popular place so come in around noon if you want the best spot, otherwise you'll be choosing from what's left. The sites are a not huge, but more than adequate in much of the park. The older section towards the back of the park can be a real challenge for larger rigs. There are lots of retail and services nearby and the beach is a very short drive away. Noise is not a problem at all, though I do remind everyone that I was quite happy living next to the I-95/I-64 interchange for 15 years. Perhaps I don't notice it when it happens, but I have not heard any loud noises beyond a few kids shrieking with laughter. For a TT campground, this is definitely way at the higher end of the spectrum. My only complaint is that I think cable is expensive (about $25 per week) for what you get. There aren't a lot of OTA channels, so some may find it reasonable.

Cost was $0 as it is included in our Thousand Trails membership. We stayed in the "new" section in the front. Was quiet as the front is still set back well from the road - behind a mini golf course. Power was amazing my power watchdog read 120 volts on both legs. Verizon cell service blazing fast 70+Mbps download, Sprint 15 Mbps down. Used the Sprint most of the time as it is unlimited with FMCA. Front section has a good view of the sky for satellite TV. The middle and back section is great for a tree lined campground experience. Water was 60 psi. Sewer was relatively new and was able to screw my hose into it for a smell free fit. Camp hosts were very nice and accommodating, they went above and beyond to make our stay as carefree as possible. Had multiple Amazon packages delivered and they accepted them without question, always a smile a great conversation.
