Our quaint water and electric spot, which was adjacent to a pond inhabited by turtles and ducks, was a delight! Not only did the site have a picnic table and fire pit, but the staff was also fantastic. The saltwater pool, although not the largest, was incredibly pleasant and had ample seating. The laundry facility was satisfactory, equipped with four washers/dryers and a coin-operated machine. Nearby the other pond, there were hammocks, a communal BBQ area, picnic tables, a pavilion, and a beautifully wooded walking path. The newly paved drive-through sites are almost finished and they look impressive. We utilized our Passport America for a discount ($138 for a four-night stay, tax included, at a 30amp back-in water/electric only site), but even without it, the regular rates were the best we found in Charleston. We didn't use the WiFi, but both Verizon and T-mobile signals were decent. We'll surely make an effort to stay here again when we're passing through Charleston! The location is conveniently a few miles away from Publix, WalMart, and numerous eateries. Do note that there is a train that passes by, but it's not close enough to be overly disruptive.

The campsite we visited is currently undergoing expansion and it's quite lovely. The addition of freshly paved spots will undoubtedly enhance the overall experience. Some of our companions were bothered by the sound of passing trains, but we found it quite enjoyable. The campsite was beautifully adorned for the holiday season. The pull-through sites were of a decent size and well-maintained. We would certainly consider returning for another stay. It's conveniently located near Charleston and approximately an hour's drive from Beaufort. There's an abundance of activities to do around the area, making it nearly impossible to feel bored.

This park has a very nature-oriented feel: lots of trees, a nice lake with a lot of wild ducks and geese everywhere. The Wi-Fi is free but unusable. Our site was fairly level, with a grass camping area and a decent amount of space between sites. The park was very dog friendly. There was a small swimming pool that saw lots of use by families. It's about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. We paid the Passport America rate which was quite reasonable. We visited in May 2014.

The ladies in the front office were friendly. They have a propane fill station, which is convenient, and inexpensive price per gallon. Our site and many that we saw were not level. Previous occupants of our site left trash in our fire pit. It was somewhat noisy at night. Barking dogs, train whistles, and a few people (though not in our immediate vicinity) were up late. Fire ants all over the place--they bit one of our dogs a bunch of times and she had a reaction. Beware if you're from the north and aren't used to those things. Nasty buggers. Best part about this place was its proximity to Charleston. Easy trip by car. Close to shopping, gas, supplies.

The location, site and hook-up quality and rate make this a great option for exploring Charleston. Value: Great for the area. We researched a lot of different RV parks in the Charleston area and this was the best rate we found for full hook-ups and proximity to the city (about 30 min with traffic.) We arrived after a couple days of heavy rain and even though the sites are gravel, ours was relatively dry and level. The manager was also kind enough to let us look at our site to make sure it was satisfactory before we settled in which we appreciated coming from our last park where our site was very muddy and un-level! The laundry room is small but adequate and the grounds are also well kept up. Dog-Friendliness: Ok. Unfortunately there's no off-leash dog park or run but you can walk your pup around the park. Runner's and Biker's Rave: Ok. You can run or bike about a mile loop within the park, after that you'll be on a busy road. WHJ Insider Tip: There's variety in the site size (the ones right on the lake are pretty tricky to park any size rig in so make sure you let the park know how big your rig is. Overall, we'd recommend staying at Lake Aire if you're looking for a reasonable price, a few amenities, and good proximity to Charleston.
