A large, open and shady campground on the banks of the Wimmera River, in Little Desert National Park.
A great spot if you want to be on the edge of the river. The campground is very large and level, however doesn't have a lot of grass cover (mainly dirt). There are basic toilets, pit fires as well as many picnic tables scattered throughout the camping area. There is plenty of shade from the mature trees as well as some more open spots if you need to recharge with solar panels. Fishing This is not a bad river for Silver Perch, Yellowbelly and cod as well as catfish. There are also quite a few carp in here. Yabbies and worms seem to produce good results. The National Parks Website has a great brochure on the walks, wildlife and site seeing in Little Desert National Park here Thanks to Peter for the following additions. The Bend is attractive but popular. Fees $10.20 honesty box (2003) No booking - first in best dressed. Rated 4.3/5
