I spent a couple of nights at this campground last summer with my Aliner, thanks to my membership which allowed me to stay for free. The campsite is quite pleasant. A few miles down the road in Crescent, you can find some decent spots to grab a bite, including Henry's diner which never disappoints. My only concern with this campsite is the high number of temporary workers who stay here, with very few leisure campers. This does create a unique atmosphere. However, it maintains its tranquility. It operates on a first-come-first-serve basis, so make sure to reserve your spot in advance.

Pay attention to the signs at the entrance. Go to the campground not the nature center. Tight but manageable back-in spots. We have a 30ft 5th wheel. Clean. Nice trails and the nature center overlook tower affords great view of the area. Recommend and would come again. 1st come first serve. No reservations and only 18 sites.

When we arrived there were only three or four sites available. We first attempted a site in the first section, just not much room for maneuvering. We went to the second second and found a spot. It was very quiet, but it did rain most of the night. The bath house is adequate and the vault toilet across from our site was clean, nothing fancy. Word of caution. If you are coming from the south you will be directed through 15 miles of gravel roads. When we left we exited to I-29, north of Council Bluffs and had no gravel roads and only had to travel about five miles. The gravel road was around 15 miles from the freeway. If I stay there again I will enter from north of Council Bluff to avoid the bumpy roads. It was a very quiet evening. I can see where some found it to be noisy. The sites are very close. Great overnight-travel stay. By the way, first-come-first-served. No reservations

Nice little campground for a quick overnight stop. Only a handful of sites to choose from but all had electricity and shared water. Didn’t use bathrooms but they looked clean. No ranger on site the day we arrived but left cash in the dropbox. Easy back-in site with our 33’ travel trailer. Nearby there’s a great observation tower and Nature Center for kids. Quick 20 min drive to Omaha. Nice spot!

Beautiful but Difficult... nice little County Park but I would not bring a big rig in again. First come first served and we got the only spot available that I could back the rig in to. Great locaton to explore Omaha and Council Bluffs.

We were traveling through and only spent one night. It’s a nice place to camp, and really quiet! Bathhouse was nice, seemed fairly new. We would stay there again.

Gravel sites with electric and water available, dump station on site. Lots of trails for walking. Had modern restrooms with showers. Lots of trees and shade in the lower level campground and also has cabins and a separate tent area. Park rangers are awesome, there are cows and goats up in the hills that the kids loved talking to. We would come back for sure, it was a nice stay. Not great cell service if any. But the nature makes up for it.

First come first serve. We stayed here one night on our way across the country. We arrived after 9pm/after hours and were able to easily pay via the deposit box ($25) and pick any site available. Clean bathhouse with hot showers. Very quiet, gravel sites with picnic tables.

Nice little campground just off freeway but no noise except for the birds. It was first come first serve. We called about 2pm and asked the Ranger how it was looking and he said no problem so we went on in. There were about 6 spaces when we arrived and they were full by 8 pm. We went to nature center and climbed the tower. This is a must. Spectacular views. Also walked the boardwalk. The birds are plentiful and loud! Could have used some mowing around camp. Lower level had more trees but seemed more crowded. Larger sites on top level. Lots of hiking. Bridges birth of camp near Loveland have limited heights. Must enter through Crescent or take gravel Sumac Rd. If you have rig over 12' got sure. One tunnel at 8' but not sure which side of freeway. Actually had free wifi that worked.
