We had a delightful experience at this Ohio State Park. Our stay at plot 247 was comfortable, offering a flat pad with a full hook-up and a spacious lot that included a large rear yard. The campground was peaceful and well-kept. We didn't utilize the bathhouse and only stayed for one night. The Verizon service was minimal with only one bar. There were several recreational activities available such as archery, disc golf, and hiking. The park is expansive and we plan on revisiting. It's an hour's drive to Cuyahoga National Park.

I've been a regular visitor to this place for many years. The employees of the park are consistently very welcoming. There are numerous excellent locations that are adequately spread out.

There's the sound of trucks and trains in the distance and almost no mosquitoes. The shower buildings are called Washhouses.

Nice sites. Accommodated large rigs. Nicely spaced from other campers.

We only stayed here one night, but it was a nice stop. The site was spacious and backed into the trees, but not a lot of privacy. We've only stayed in two Ohio state parks but it seems like they have a standard layout as far as the sites are angled back ins with either gravel or paved pads. Site 172 was a short walk to the restrooms which were well maintained. Wish we had more time to explore the park, but we were back on the road in the morning.

We arrived Sunday afternoon (6/14). A couple of campers were in line to check in ahead of us. In just a few minutes, we were backing into our home for the next 5 nights. The gravel pad was fairly level and just big enough for the bus and the car. Our site was relatively small, but that was OK. Trees and brush surrounded our site, so we felt secluded even though the next camper was only 20 feet away. The ground was hard packed and covered with pine needles. There was a decent picnic table and a pretty nice fire ring with an adjustable grill that swung out from over the fire. Unfortunately, it had been pulled out of the ground and sat up high on three legs. I tried pounding it back into the hard earth with little luck. It was OK, but you could only see the base of the fire. We were on one of two roads with electricity, ours being closest to the lake. The forest shielded us from being able to see the lake. The pines were so tall that we only had direct sun about five hours mid-day. Late day sun filtered through the trees and, along with a light breeze, kept us cool. The site was near a loop at the end of the road, and inside the loop was one of the cleaner pit toilets I've seen. Park staff power-washed the inside roughly every three hours. Brightly lit, the white walls and grey floor looked like they had been painted recently. However, they could probably pump it out more frequently. The shower house was a hundred yards or so up the road. It was newer and VERY CLEAN. Tile walls and nature-stone type floor. Roomy showers with benches and hooks. The ADA even had a hand-held shower. I walked the Lake Trail from our loop to the spillway. For the most part it was wide and flat packed dirt surrounded by the most amazing forest that I had seen in years. The trail emerged into a meadow that surrounds the spillway. The area was designed to handle a lot of water, but was dry during our visit. Some water must get through as there was a nice size pond at the bottom, surrounded by lush, dense forest. I wanted to hike to the dam, but spent too much time taking pictures and had to get back to camp. Since this was only our second trip in Believeland (our schoolie), a lot of our time was spent tinkering with things and tweaking our construction plans. We took a drive around the park on freshly blacktopped roads. Due to Covid-19, the concessions and boat rental were closed, as was the nature center, camp store and playground. The long sandy beach was open. Lots of canoes and kayaks on the lake. There were hiking trails everywhere. The Buckeye Trail passes through the south end of the park. There is also a mountain bike trail. The dump station was perfect for RVs and campers, but proved to be a challenge to those of us using a porta-pottie. I had to hold the lid open with my foot while dumping the yuk down a hole. Hosing the area down afterward wasn't much easier. An electric-only site is $29/night Sunday through Thursday nights. Our Golden Buckeye card got us a 50% discount on those nights, bringing the cost down to $14.50. Add the $6.50 online reservation fee, and our total was $79.00, or $15.80/ night. Not free, but WELL WORTH IT.

We used to camp here quite a bit 30 years ago, this was our first visit in quite some time. They've improved the campsites by adding electric to around 100 sites, & 15 of those are FHU. Trails were improved as well. Beach is still good and I know it's a popular fishing place. Groceries and fuel close by, and decent golf courses, restaurants.

We have stayed at Findley State Park many times with a pop up and travel trailer. This place fill fast on the weekends so a reservation is highly recommended especially on holiday weekends. We liked the full hook up sites. There are plenty of full bathhouses in the park. The size of most sites are very adequate for typical units. You may have trouble parking large RVs here. The lake is great for fishing and canoeing. The camp hosts have activities during many weekends throughout the summer. There are many mountain bike trails around the park and will keep most casual bikers entertained.

This is a decent campground. Check-in was not at the check-in station but in the nature center. Worker there handed me my car tag and offered no other information. Not a huge deal, but thought it was weird that I had to ask for a map and where the water, dump station and laundry were. Site was pretty level. Some nice vegetation separating us from our neighbors. We stayed over a weekend so the campground was pretty full. Lots of kids, riding bikes and skateboards back and forth. Things calmed down well before quiet hours though. Some of the hiking trails were too short to be much fun. Others were nice. But even those seemed poorly maintained. Lots of downed branches and debris all over the trails. Lots of the trees had names carved in them. This is obviously not the fault of the campground but I wanted to mention it. Why do people feel entitled to deface something doesn't actually belong to them? It's an ok place to stay, but I would probably go someplace else next time.

Only here for one night but snagged a place in this very busy park. Over 240 sites. The full hookups are in one area that tends to be much less crowded, more space between the sites, and back up to the lovely wooded area. Highlight here (other than full hook-up) is the bathhouse. New, tiled, clean with the largest private showers we've seen. Hot water, plenty of hooks for clothing, bench, and shower curtan inside the private shower space (there are a total of 4) so you can walk in, close the door, hang your towel and your clothes, pull the curtan and keep it dry while you shower. Nice!

We have stayed at Findley State Park campground 2 times now and even though having many sites there did not seem to be many noisy campers. Most sites are only electric with you using your fresh water tank for water. There are some full hookup sites but they seem to reserve quickly. About half the campground has non-electric sites, but there are plenty of electric sites also. Most sites are fairly level with plenty of space between sites for some privacy. Been going here for 25 years, mostly in the spring and fall. About 100 sites now have electric service as of about 5 years ago, with plans to add more in the future. The mountain biking trail is an easy 7-8 mile loop, but should be avoided in the wet season. The disc golf had the full 18 holes finished about 2 years ago. Still work in progress, and can be muddy at times. Hiking trails are nice, except in the wet spring. The park has been trying to catch up in long overdue projects. They just finished a new water treatment project, nearly new pavilion. The activities / nature center burned down two years ago. Plans are for fixing that. The beach is nice crescent moon shaped. In season they have a watercraft rental there at the beach. The lake is about 100 acres or less. For the most part the campsites are solid gravel back in type. Most are shade or part shade. It's a mixed of hardwoods and pine forest.Be forewarned, 1000+ Ash trees have been removed because of the Ash tree bug. Most sites will accommodate RV's under 35' with a few for big 40' rigs. There are two shower buildings, usually one will open the first week in April. The RV dump station is fairly new. There are two fresh water fill faucets there, but many times they are out of order. There are other water outlets about every 20 campsites. If arriving in the off season and the main water supply is not turned, go to the east side of the maintenance garage where there is a frost-proof water faucet. The maintenance garage is about 3/4 before the campground. All park roads are paved. Campground is located about 1 mile south of Wellington which has a few places to eat, two grocery stores, very large hardware store. Findley is about 30 minutes from two freeways, so it doesn't get filled much during the midweek. The park staff do have a number of planned weekend events that keeps the campground filled in the electric section. Seems to be a lot of "regular" campers that know each other there week to week. Good TV station access with antenna (35+ stations). Many tall trees will hamper getting satellite. Negatives would be shower buildings kind of outdated. The hiking trails have many drainage issues during the wet spells. Positives: New sewage plant, new water fountains, newer playground, pavilion, disc golf.
