I made a journey to this location with my 35-foot 5th wheel and a long bed pickup, and I settled in lot #41, an east/west, back-in spot which cost me $11 per night, thanks to my America the Beautiful Senior Pass. This isn't my initial visit; I've stayed here before. My first stay was right after a severe storm, so I thought it was important to share another experience. The roads and lots are covered in asphalt, with many areas recently resurfaced. The lot was impeccably even. There was also a cement slab beneath the picnic table. The camping grounds are quite spacious. However, backing into the space was slightly tricky due to the tight entrance road. The park offered a peaceful environment. The restroom facilities were clean and well-maintained. There were a few over-the-air channels available, no wifi, but I had 2-3 bars of LTE with Verizon. The lots I'd recommend include 19 (which offers shade) and 9. If I find myself in this region again, I will definitely choose to stay here.

The camping area had recently been updated with flat, even pitches surrounded by trees. The washrooms and bathing facilities were kept tidy. The park offered several hiking paths, although some were off-limits due to insufficient upkeep. It also featured a well-built boat launch and angling dock. The directions to the dock were a bit unclear - it's situated to the left of the information hub, at the extreme end of the car park. The park wardens were friendly, and a park supervisor was present on the premises. The cost was $22 each night, with a half-price concession for those with a Senior Pass. All in all, it was a pleasant visit.

This is an excellent small camping spot with an incredible position. It's nestled in the core of Ocean Springs and is a simple brief bicycle journey across the Bay Bridge into Biloxi. The area is equipped with electricity and water, and there's a waste disposal facility on the premises. The bathhouse is spotless and in good condition.

This stunning location is a great spot to unwind, with opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and kayaking. It's also a pet-friendly space with bark management. I thoroughly enjoyed the museum, the park ranger's medicinal knowledge, and the storytelling sessions. The evening campfire gatherings were simply fantastic. However, you need to pre-book as this site tends to be crowded. The only downside is the late check-in time, which consumes half of your day and you are required to check out early the next day. The frequency of site changes was too high, and it was a common issue for many of us. The system needs to address this problem as the site manager doesn't have the authority to control it. Despite this, she and her team were quite friendly. The camping area was kept clean. I would definitely love to spend more time here in the future. The only improvement required is in the Wi-Fi service.

Our brief halt at this location was on our journey, however, we plan to revisit for an extended duration. A number of the walking paths have been affected by a recent storm, but there was still a lot to discover, and the coast was tranquil and serene. It's conveniently located near Ocean Springs for necessities like food, dining, and so on, yet it's sufficiently distant to ensure tranquility. The camping spots were reasonably spread out and generally flat, the washroom facilities were modern and impressive, and the personnel were amiable.

This is a compact yet neat camping site that includes bathrooms and shower facilities. It has been recently renovated with flat spots for tents, an area for campfires, tables for picnics, and access to shore water and electrical connections at each spot. There are also places to dispose of waste and obtain fresh water. There's a brief 3.5-mile trail from the campsite to the visitor's center, which includes a quick half-mile loop. For those interested in cycling, there's a route that takes about 15-20 minutes to reach Ocean Springs, where you can find dining and entertainment options.

Will never camp there again left after first night. Nothing in the rules about golf carts they watch everything you do my trailer tire was about 6 inches off the pavement they made me unhook and move it over. You can ride golf carts down town so tried to get their on mine and was stopped by the ranger police and told pick it up or get a ticket. Ruined the hole weekend because that was my only way of transportation. Way to many rules only camp there if you like being able n prison and treated like a child. Never will go back

Stayed 4 nights January 23 to 27 of 2022 Neighborhood barking dogs and trains were source of noise and decreased rating by one star. $11 rate reflects Senior pass discount. Area beaches are great, clean bathrooms and locking individual shower rooms with great hot water and pressure. Basically in a residential neighborhood. #38 would be best site IMO Great deal. Go to Craft Advisory brewery and check out beaches here and in Biloxi

We camped here in a 40' motorhome in November 2021. Our space was barely big enough for our large bus, so definitely be sure to check the sizes online when making your reservation. We thought these sites were well worth it for $22/ni inside a National Park. The park and the campground are small and very community feeling. We loved the town of Ocean Springs, all the biking, and of course the beach! Access is easy on paved roads the entire way. No dump available at sites but easy pull through dump station available, and water & electric at each site. Enjoy!

Excellent staff at campground and visitors center. Visitors center is very interesting. Great for kids. Biking and walking trails. Restrooms and showers are adequate. Close to many attractions. Ocean Springs is a nice tourist town.

The campground is smaller than many national parks yet has a lot of activities to walk, bicycle or drive to. I suggest the larger inner sites with any large rigs. The paved sites are older asphalt and not all level especially the ones in the outer loop. There are four separate individual showers which were clean and hot. The visitors center has reopened with great, informative displays. Many go fishing or boating although we walked the trails and along the road. Ocean Springs is not far by car and worth a day or more exploring the various shops and restaurants on its main streets of Government and Washington or one might also take a drive or bike to a beach area. I’m not sure if it was due to early spring, but the tiny black bugs were a biting pest!

We were here in March - and it was chilly and a bit rainy. That said, the campground is run down and needs some infrastructure improvements. The Park Rd detour is still going on as of this review - it is well marked with orange detour signs. The concrete pads were old and some were crumbled and had cones on them and/or tree roots had burst through the concrete - you couldn't use them. (so a long-standing problem that hasn't been fixed) Many sites had trees - good for shade - not good for high RVs or slide outs. We had a heck of a time backing into site 34 due to the curve in the road, the ditch across the road, and the ground around the pad is sunk below the pad - you had to drive over the grass to make the cut onto the pad and our rear stabilizer got dragged but didn't bend. I would have to say this park was made back in the day when campers were smaller and it is perfect for that - we mostly saw class A and B and smaller towables. There are a few sites that can accommodate large rigs like ours, so just have to get one of them. The rangers ARE making sure you stay on your pad and off the grass with your vehicles. Rangers were very friendly and helpful, neighbors were nice - but not putting this on our list of places we want to return to. Large sites with room for backing in are: 12, 28, 30 and 38 - check satellite images and call the office to confirm, 228-230-4136.

Not a bad State Park. Close to the surprisingly very nice town of Ocean Springs. Great little downtown to walk around. We were originally in site 23 but asked to move to open site 44. 23 was right across from the rv dump and all its smells. The sites on the inside of the loop are long and level as compared to the short and unlevel sites on the outside of the loop. Clean campground and nice camp host. No playground for the kids though.

Great spot to park and explore the best of what the Mississippi Coast has to deliver. Clean and easy access right off the busy Highway 90 that connects all the coastal cities. Park is very clean and quiet. Fairly level pads, most are small for 24ft and under but 37 will allow up to 50ft, be sure to check when reserving your spot. Note: No golf carts can be used and all vehicles must be on pavement at all times. No sewer and fire pit shares with the grill. Also note, 37 is full sunshine, no shade. Most of the outside loop does have partial shade. Rained daily on our stay, but site remains dry, good runoff. Really enjoy watching the wildlife. Gators, coons, turtles and birds are all over. Coons seem to very much use to people and will get fairly close to you. Great fishing pier by the visitor’s center down a piece from the campgrounds that you will want to try out. Very close to all the public beaches.

This turned out to be a great campground. The trees were full of birds and we enjoyed hearing their songs. There were plenty of places to ride our bikes and we had fun looking for the alligators, watching the pelicans, and seeing the ospreys building their nest. This may be the most quiet park we have ever visited. This was our first visit to this campground and I am sure we will return.

Many hiking trails going through the bayou. There is also a gate that never closes that you can bike through to get down to the beach. I was there for a week working during the day and exploring at night. Had good Verizon coverage. There is a museum but it was closed when I was there for covid and hurricane damage. Some of the paths were also inaccessible due to hurricane damage. The showers were good, you close off in a single room so the entire floor gets wet. There are hooks but no place to put your soap. A little buggy, you are in a bayou, quiet at night.

Dave was great at check in. He lives in the campground. Our site was exactly 60 steps down a private path to the water and beside a giant live oak tree. It was very, very quiet at night. We were there March 21st and the gnats were pretty bad when the sun shines and the wind doesn't blow. Wind and night time make the gnats disappear. We didn't use any of the facilities, so no comment about those. Very clean otherwise.

This is a nice campground. We were a little bummed because when we were here at the end of February, nearly all the trails and boardwalks were closed due to damage from a hurricane a few months prior. The visitor's center was also closed. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly. Like... I believe these people must truly love their jobs because they were probably some of the friendliest staff we've ever interacted with. Our site was fairly spacious, but was not long enough for us to park both our 34 foot 5th wheel and F250. This was a little annoying because the parking area was a bit of a walk. But we survived. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We'd love to come back when more things are open/repaired.

Five nights + site five = an enjoyable time of quiet surroundings, filled with the songs of birds, beneath the comforting long branch of a Live Oak.

Really enjoyed our short visit in the bayou. Great trails and biking opportunities. The site parking is level, but many sites have a good drop off leaving RV. Safest locations are in the middle of the loop. Best of all, the showers?! Individual showers with piping hot and plentiful water.
