The park is exceptionally neat and tidy. Though the plots are compact, they are in good condition. The picnic tables are spotless. The plots are fairly flat. The cost is somewhat high, exceeding $90.00. The golf course seems decent, I'm not a golfer but there were others participating. Both the showers and the laundry area are immaculate. The Wi-Fi connection isn't strong. I would consider returning for an extended visit the next time we travel in this direction. It has a secure and sanitary atmosphere.

We stayed here for one night, just driving through down the 101 (not many places to stay). It would probably be really nice in the off season during the week. The site was big, but not very private. We were here on a Saturday night, and it’s clear that locals come here to party (noisily!). There were also huge family groups. We were only overnighting so didn’t put up the Starlink, but I doubt it would have worked in the big trees. In a pinch I would stay here overnight again (better than some of the other super cheap places on the route). Dog walking was mainly on the camp road (again, the river was packed with party people).

The owner of this park also owns the Benbow Inn & Restaurant next door, as well as the Golf Course too. Very busy park and expensive for the facilities. The hot tub has been broken for MONTHS. However, no discount offered for this. Staff is kind and helpful. As a paying guest, I expect to be able to utilize ALL of the advertised amenities. Apparently the owner has no intention of making repairs or conducting needed maintenance.

After driving the tight and curvey 101, we needed to pull over for the night and knowing what KOA are we thought we'd give this a try. The lobby is clean and we'll kept, stocked really good for everything you might need but. When you drive into the park you can scene the age of the place, the grounds are worn and run down and the sight are paved but uneven. The picnic tables are dirty and there are long term residents. You have to pay for WiFi $20.00 for 5mb and we have Dish tailgate and we could not get signal so, we changed over to their cable. Next we'll just keep driving down the road. Safe travels.

This is a woodsy campground nestled by Highway 101. Our site was near the highway, but road noise wasn't bad. Small, short parking areas at sites, with plenty of grassy or shady areas for tents. Most campers here are tenters. We only saw a few trailers and one Class C. Dry camping. Water spigots nearby. Dump area closed. Bathrooms were recent vintage and clean. Coin showers worked well. (Token machine at bath house) Good woodland hiking trails. Small, riverside beach for wading or fishing. Close to Avenue of the Giants. Only Con is that the road in needs attention. About 50 yards is very rough, maybe from a washout. Needed our cell booster to get 2 bars of Verizon.

I stopped here for one night while traveling northbound on US101. The site was mostly level and it was clean. I only used the electricity hookup, and that worked as expected. The area was pretty, and there was some highway noise from the 101, but nothing that kept us from sleeping. The park was very accessible, and the playground was good for the kids.

The campground is located in very nice and pretty location. It is pricey and the no phone or information to overnight stay after hours. Nobody picked up the phone or have site available/map for late hours.

Clean sites, not on top of everyone. Asphalt pads with cement pads for tables and bbq. You hear the 101 noise but not bad. Very helpful at the office and checking in. Looks like a lot of long term cabin stays.

The camp was clean, had a nice pool, and game room. Internet - wifi was poor even inside the office area. Staff polite. I use Verizon- it had 1-2 bars of service. It is next to the highway so it is nice for a stop over while passing through.

Noisy, and directly beside highway like most koa’s.

Overall the campground was decent with a nice golf course. Most sites were spaced accordingly but larger rigs may have difficulty navigating around the park and especially getting settled. Site 415 is towards the back of the campground and is spacious but lacks a view (next to a cabin). Cable tv connection is terrible with lots of noise, and cell phone service in the area is initially slow but can be provide good speeds with a cell booster. Overall staff was friendly and had a great experience overall.

This is our second time staying in the KOA. Easy off and on from Hwy 101. Nice golf course, nice pool. Several family reunions when we were there so Pool very crowded. No Eel river access from campground. Grass at some sites, full hook ups, typical site close to the next rig. Front office staff, a bit disorganized, confused reservations, when told laundry machines were broken or there was no hot water in showers, they didn’t seem to care. Very busy KOA.

This is a great location to the 101 for a stop over. There's a golf course, basketball court, pool table, video games, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. The grounds are very clean and pleasant. The roads are in good shape and easy to navigate without any obstacles. The 50 amp FHU was strong and reliable. The wifi was not usable. The lady in the office said that due to the Ca wildfires they were experiencing issues with it. I was able to use my Weboost booster to pull in 13d/l speeds on ATT and 4.6 on T mobile. Even with a booster, Verizon was not usable. The speeds w/out the booster were also very bad (under 1mb d/l). I don't know if it's because of the wildfires or not but I did see on the news there were pretty bad cell issues due to the fires so that may have been a contributing factor. They advertise a dog park but there wasn't one. There was plenty of room to walk around the campground. Garberville is close by for your shopping needs but be prepared for lots of homeless people and hitchhiker vagabonds galore. Not a nice place to hang out. This was one of the nicest KOAs I have seen, just not much to do around here.

Overall a good location in the redwoods and adjacent to a 9 hole golf course. Staff was friendly and helpful and the grounds were generally clean. Paid for a premium site that was supposed to have grass and patio furniture; had the furniture but the grass was dead and had not been watered in a long time.
