St Vrain is about a mile off of I25 about 30 miles north of Denver CO. The park is well laid out, site 28 was dead on level with concrete pad, fire ring/bbq and picnic table with shelter. Mallard loop was clean, quiet and had a building w/restroom with showers. Park rangers were very nice and helpful - camp host was either angry or didn't want to engage when i tried to wave him down while he drove around on the golf cart for a question (really pretty funny!) the verizon signal was very strong at 4 bars on my jet pack but throughout the state the phone signal was only 3G!!! thats one strike for CO. Interstate traffic noise was obvious if that bothers you. Price per night is $28 which is for electric only plus the $7 they collect per day with all fees puts you in the $35 ballpark which is probably one of the higher state park fees ...Other than that its a great spot to work with the Rockies in the distance!

This campground is located north of Denver and is just off 25 highway. There are several small ponds/lakes and almost every spot is close to the water. We have a 40 ft. Class A Diesel and the full hook-up RV sites were $41 (note - you do have to pay an $8 per day Colorado State Park vehicle fee. If you have a toad it is only one $8 fee, but if you drive the RV and the car in separate you have to pay for each vehicle/day). The price is a little high, but the campsites were nicely located near the water and had concrete pads. Each site has a fire pit and a covered picnic table. Beautiful views. Great experience!

St. Vrain SP is a little gem hidden in the city. We really enjoyed our stay here in 2018. We chose this park because it was conveniently located on our route ( final destination Glacier NP) from TX to CO. The park was well maintained, there were hosts for the different areas and in all did a great job of keeping the sites clean. We stayed on site 032 which was a pull thru and it was spacious enough for our 40’ 5th Wheel. The site did not have water or electricity but we had done our research and were prepared. There were other areas around that had full hook ups, but were full when we visited. A water spigot was close to our campsite which was convenient and a dump station is located as you leave the park. The restrooms were super clean, spacious and had hot water, just make sure you have change as you need to pay fo your shower. The views of the park were spectacular and even though it’s located Off the hwy, it has a very nice secluded vibe and the noise win’t be a problem.

We stayed here for 2 nights to see a car show in Westminster and while exploring the Rocky Mountain National park. The site we chose was a back in overlooking one of the many ponds in the park that was electric only, there is a dump station and potable water on site. The site was clean and level. The Ranger staff were friendly and helpful. there was a lot of road noise from the adjacent Interstate (I-25). We would stay here again, but only if we needed to stay in the area as the cost is high.

We stayed at campsite 60 for 1 night then moved to campsite 30 which we had reserved months ago. 60 is on what seems to be a new side with full hookups. Campsite 30 only has electric but does have water available at pump on each end of loop. Very lovely area with plenty of trails around ponds. Several bathrooms scattered about & 1 very nice bathroom/shower facility. Showers are pay but not expensive & great hot water & pressure. Lots of birds & although we didn’t fish the ponds seem to be great for it. The only drawback was the interstate noise. We could drown it out with our fan or music but at times it was very loud. Park is close to plenty of shopping & the lovely town of Longmont. Overall this park is beautiful & well cared for. A gem in the middle of a fast growing area.

Right next to Interstate so would recommend only if you want that convenience ('cause it's noisy). Lots of rules and lots of bugs. Amenities don't match the price (coin op showers? c'mon). Wouldn't choose to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this state park. The sites were very level and the staff was very diligent in keeping the sites very clean. AT&T was super fast at 80Mbps DL/20 Mbps UL using a mobile router with no booster.

Stayed here for about a week in July 2019. The bugs were bad near the lake so bring bug spray. Lots of really nice walking trails for me and my dog and lots of places to put in if you have a paddleboard or kayak. One night there was a crazy wind storm that snapped 4 trees in half in a cottonwood grove near my campsite, so just be aware that wind can get bad in this area. Scenery is really nice and connectivity is great. Probably the best dump station I've been to yet - clean, easy access, potable water. The main drawback to this park is the highway noise. You're just off I-25, the main north-south interstate highway, so there's always traffic going by and there's always noise. I couldn't hear it if I was in my camper with the fan on, but if road noise bothers you just be aware going in that it's an issue. Otherwise, sites are well-spaced, and there are lots of sites here that have waterfront views due to the sheer number of ponds in this park. Really very pretty. Sites are all level and have a shaded picnic table too.

Decent campsite facilities and in a convenient location, but way too close to very noisy I-25. This location is OK for an overnight while traveling through the area but why anyone would spend more than an overnight here is beyond me.

We stayed in Kestrel Loop, site 78. Everything south of the entrance road is essentially treeless, but has full hookups. Almost everything north of the entrance road has lots of shade but it is electric only and sites are closer together. The freeway noise is non-stop, except for maybe 1a-3a isn’t too bad. This is a park where most of the locals go to get away from home on the weekends. And by locals I mean people living 10 miles or closer. The full hookups sites are level, fairly large and not too close to each other. The campground is well maintained. There are walking paths around all the little lakes. Lots of birding opportunities. You could kayak or SUP in the lakes but not swim. Lots and lots of people fishing. The prettiest area is walking around Pelican Pond. We camped here because our kids leave in the area, one north and one south so for us it was a trade-off to see the kids, but not a site we would normally choose to visit. Maybe an overnight on the way somewhere, though not cheap. I would only stay again if I was visiting my kids and grandkids. $41/night plus $9/day entry is expensive, especially when we normally camp dispersed. I guess that’s what you get when camp near the big city or maybe I should say, I should be grateful that’s all it costs to be near Denver.

I guess we didn't understand why this was a state park. We've been all over the USA and usually state parks are large, each site has some privacy, and there are things to see and do. This is a basic campground with small lakes, a river, birds, fish, and that's pretty much it. There are no programs for children, or adults for that matter, a LOT of highway noise, catch and release fishing, and some kayaking. The sites are level concrete pull-thrus. There is no bathhouse on the full hookup side so make sure your toilet and shower are in working order. There is a fire ring, a covered picnic table at each site. Firestone, CO has King Sooper's grocery store (Kroger affiliate) closeby that was completely amazing. If ever in the area again, we probably wouldn't stay here as a first choice. The $47 we paid daily (when averaged) includes the surprise $80 for an annual Colorado state park pass sticker for our truck. Yes, they may tell you about this somewhere on their website or whatever, but since I book all of our reservations months in advance, I guess we forgot about it. My mouth gaped open when the park employee advised us of this fee (The annual pass was cheaper than the daily rate of $9). $47 is about what we have to pay now for just the basics anywhere we go, so I shouldn't have been shocked, but somehow I expected more for our money.

This park is right next to I 25 so there is road noise and you don't exactly feel like you're out in nature. But everything else is wonderful here. Several loops around large grass areas. Multiple small lakes, lots of people come here to fish. Many sites are FHUs except those by the water are W/E only. Some dry camping under cottonwoods in the back, for smaller rigs and tents. Very few restroom buildings. Double dump at entrance/exit. There is construction on Hwy 119 until July 2017 that adds noise and dust. Park rangers are very active so behave!

$9 extra per day for access to the park!!! However, August is military month so we got it for free. You pay it all up front and don’t have to deal with it every time you leave. Close to the highway but really didn’t bother us. It was very beautiful, quiet, and well kept. Showers were nice and easy to use. I love a good pull through site too 😅 we will definitely come back.

This is a very popular park for fishermen, and even though it's right next to I-25 it's quieter than you would think. Versus other parks we have stayed at next to an Interstate, it's the quietest. There are lots of sites with full hookups, so we have used it for the spring "shakedown" trip for a couple nights 2 years running. There's shopping & restaurants within 10 minutes for the things you forgot, or if you don't want to cook. Strong cell phone and TV signal. If you're visiting friends locally, good place for base camp. The gravel ponds have various waterfowl (including great blue herons), and eagles and hawks hang out on the premises as well.

St Vrain State park is just north of Denver, CO. While located alongside I-25 there isn’t much road noise. There are 3 camping areas. The one on the south side where I stayed (#45) is the newer section is the sites are E/W/S. 20/30/50A. Concrete pad next to a curved picnic shelter. The pad is wide enough that I was able to put out the awning on my Airstream without hitting the picnic shelter. Not much shade in this section. The north side has two sections. Both have mature trees. Pelican Loop has the best tree/shade coverage while Mallard Campground has a mix of open and shaded spots. These are electric only sites (20/30/50A) There is a nice dump site available on site. Verizon was 5 bars inside the Airstream with 15/8mbs down/up on Speedtest. Park is convenient to lots of activities in the Denver area. Ft Collins is about 20 minutes north, Longmont 10 minutes west and Boulder about 20 minutes away. E only $22, EWS $26 and a $7 per vehicle fee.

The spots are nice and spaced typical of a state park. We were originally in spot 14, but had to move to the spot held for rangers when our power went out. Spot 14 faces the road and we noticed it is much noisier there than on the side with 24. Site 6 would give you a lot of privacy as there are no neighbors on each side and there are a lot of tree- great for a hammock. If you are there in July, beware of the foxtails. Our dog got a foxtail down his ear and by the time we went to the vet the next morning, it had already punctured his ear drum.

This is a nice state park that is convenient to I-25. You do hear the noise from the interstate, but it didn't bother me. At night we had our A/C on so that drowns out any noise anyway. We stayed in the Coot Pond loop and our site was right by the pond. We had a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains in the distance and the sunsets in the evening were beautiful. It was very hot when we were there (upper 90s most days), so we didn't get to enjoy the outside as much but the mornings were lovely and evenings were nice as soon as the sun went down. They don't have any laundry facilities here which was inconvenient. Verizon 4G worked well here. The only reason I knock off any stars for this and every other CO state park is because of the ridiculous $10 reservation fee and the fact that you have to pay the $7/day park entrance fee on top of the campground fee. We travel full-time and this is the only state so far that we have been to that makes you pay an entrance fee in addition to the campground fee. Since we are traveling around Colorado for a couple of months it made sense for us to buy the CO state parks annual pass for $70, but it makes staying at CO state parks a lot more expensive than other states. We are from Florida, and FL state parks do NOT make you pay the entrance fee on top of the campground fee to camp there.

St. Vrain was our second location to visit since getting our motorhome. We found it easy to find however there was a lot of construction on 119 which is the main road outside the park (Otherwise access would be 5 stars). Once we arrived we filled our fresh water. PRO-TIP: the nozzles are a bit tricky, you have to pull down the middle spout before turning on the water for the other spout with the hose attachment to work, once it is on, it stays on but reverts back to the original wide mouth spout. A camp host was kind enough to assist us and I was able to help a neighbor when I caught him swearing at the thing! LOL! Our spot was #31 on Mallard pond and I think ours was one of the two that didn't have waterfront parking. The spots are well maintained with electric, covered picnic tables, clean fire pits and attentive hosts who were anxious to do their daily rock garden raking of the gravel sites. Our site was paved and most all at this park seemed fairly level. I didn't visit the other sections of the park but I felt it was close to trains, the bathroom, and gorgeous views of the mountains, trees and little lakes. We saw a man spear himself a carp as well as a bald eagle that was looking for some breakfast. I took a lot of beautiful photos and if I had been smart I would have done some still life drawings, maybe I still will. There were lots of people fishing while we were there. There IS highway noise. You are right off I-25 which can take you either north to Loveland and Ft. Collins, or South will take you into Denver (45 min), the park is in a town called Firestone but the park is only 15 minutes away from Longmont off 119, if you head another 20 min. west you will come to Niwot and then Boulder. I really liked being able to travel to the other cities that were not too far away, this was a great middle point to see everything in the area with my car. We had great neighbors the whole time and the park is very dog friendly though it does not have any kind of dog park, which I think would be a fun addition.

St. Vrain was exactly what we were looking for when visiting friends in the Denver area. We wanted to have full hook ups for a cheaper price while being relatively close to the city and hiking areas. Not an easy feat in Colorado but so happy we found St. Vrain! It's a very flat campground, bordering the highway. Our site was in the back where we could easily see the gas station signs but the other side of our camper was the most wonderful sunset every night! Other sites were further from the highway, we just happened to have last pick. Still was a nice site. Highway noise minimal considering. Cell reception was great, staff friendly and the park very clean. Highly recommend if you need a quiet place to stay near civilization ;)

This may not be the most attractive state park around, but it does have a lot going for it. Full hookups for $30, very large, spacious sites, plenty of places to walk with trails around most of the many small lakes, excellent Verizon and AT&T coverage, and a reasonable drive to Longmont and Boulder. Sites are completely level concrete, with a covered gravel picnic area. When outside we can hear the interstate but it's far enough to not be loud or bothersome. The full-hookup section is mostly wide open with few, if any, trees, and is all dirt roads so our car was a mess, and when walking our dog outside we had to deal with lots of dust when other cars drove by. The electric-only section of the campground has paved roads, many mature trees, and is much prettier. We had to deal with some mosquitoes but it wasn't bad compared to some other spots we've camped recently. We'll return in the future to spend more time exploring the Boulder area.

We are staying here for a week while we stock up on supplies and do vehicle maintenance in Denver before heading into the mountains of Colorado. Pros: - Campground is well-maintained, extremely clean, with regular camp host and state park employee patrols multiple times per hour - on foot, cart, bike, or car - wow. - Sites are perfectly level and clean concrete slabs. You can probably build Microchips on these slabs. - Great wetlands with tons of birds. - North part of the campground only has electric, but are very nice sites around the wetlands. - Very accessible double-sided dump station. - Extremely strong Verizon signal - the best I've ever seen: -45dBm from my Cradlepoint with a Panorama 5-wire antenna. Cons: - Campground is situated right next to the highway, so you're going to hear some road noise depending on how close you are. Eclipse traffic started up at 5:30AM and woke us up. - South part of the campground has full hookups, but is basically just a flat gravel field. Big contrast from the north part of the campground with trees and grass. - Bugs! Suprising number of Mosquitoes all-day, and tiny flies at night that swarm your porch light. Don't open your windows at night - they come right on in though the mesh! - Need to pay CO state park fees in addition to camping fees. :(

I stayed here on Thursday through Sunday nights. Friday and Saturday were very very busy. the sites in the loop with site 18 and very closely packed. I had a family reunion on one side with kids running all over and another couple having a dinner party on the other side. This campground is located between Denver and Boulder right off of I 25. On the weekend there were more people here fishing than there were people camping, probably 100 or more. The landscaping is nice with more ponds than I have seen in one campground area before. On Sunday many people left. So I would advise avoiding Friday and Saturday nights. There are many many geese and other waterfall even some Raptors including eagles. unfortunately the road noise from I 25 is so loud that it is hard to hear the birds. Most people seem to think that since there was so much road noise you might as well play your radio loud. And of course everybody is going to appreciate your taste in music, right a whole? I was in the area to pick up a truck camper it overland vehicle outfitters. That was convenient but I doubt I would ever come here again because of the exorbitant price and noise. The park is very clean and manicured and all the facilities are top notch like most Colorado state parks but the confluence of so many people in one place makes it much too urban for me.

It's one of those parks that allows you to make a reservation and charges you another $9/day when you arrive for a park pass. So instead of $36 per night, that extra fee makes it $45, which is steep for an electric post on a concrete pad. They also charge for showers. $.75 for 4 minutes. Not much shade, lots of road noise from I-25, and I don't really understand what qualifies this as a state park? It's a handful of retention ponds next to an interstate. We stayed here while we visited a friend in the area. We would have preferred to boondock somewhere, but with it being 100 degrees, we needed electric service for an AC. OH! But there's great AT&T service, which is a big win for us since we work on the road.

This park would have been a 5 w/out the road noise. It didn't really bother us but if you're looking for quiet, you may be disappointed. With that said, the site we stayed in was an easy pull through with 50 amp FHU on a parking pad surrounded by gravel. There's a lot of space between you and your neighbors. Longmont has plenty of shopping so you can stock up and both Boulder and Denver are a reasonable drive away. There is no shade here so keep that in mind if you come during the heat of summer. Cell was great on both Verizon and ATT with no booster required. Up/down speeds were very fast. Plenty of OTA channels as well. The hiking around the park was plentiful with various defined trails around the ponds and lakes. Rangers were nice but left you alone. I would recommend you do what we did and buy the annual Colorado state park pass. It will pay for itself in about a week's worth of time and then you save the extra daily parking price.

St. Vrain is our "home" park. There are two sides to this park, one side being full hook-ups and the other side water and electric only. We stayed on the full hook-up side. Site 56 is beautiful, level, and right on the water. There are multiple small lakes here and they just recently started to allow paddle boards. No swimming is allowed in these lakes. The sites are clean, friendly rangers, and nice camp hosts. You HAVE to watch your speed in this state park or you will get ticketed. The only downfall of this park is that it is right off of the highway so if you are looking to camp and get away from it all, this park may not be for you. However, for us, we work during the week and like to be close to stores and St. Vrain is perfect for all of that! Internet test via OpenSignal - T-Mobile 5G Download 34.3 Upload 8.30

This is a nice state park, good location to Denver, Rocky Mountain NP and up/down I-25/I-70. The park has several ponds for fishing and bird watching, the geese are everywhere. Our site was pull thru, FHU's, level and clean. We did not use any restroom or dump station facility. Many reviews complain about hwy noise from I-25, I didn't have any issue even sitting outside with friends for an afternoon BBQ. My only complaint, if that, is the lack of shade in the park. The picnic tables are covered which was nice, but no trees to shade the rest of the site.

Pros: Concrete level pads Good space between sites Some sites have nice views of ponds Full hookups Close to I-25 Cons: Roads are rough Constant interstate noise (no problem inside a 4-season camper, but very noticeable outside) $41 site fee + $9 park fee = $50 for a state park Good for an overnighter on the way to Wyoming.
