The vehicle camping area (1 bench 2 BBQs, 1 broken) is on both sides of the road just across the creek (intermittent) from the day area (WC, shelter, tank, 3 benches 2 BBQs (1 broken). Reasonable shade from white trunked Manna Gums, Peppermints and willows over level gravelly flood banks, surrounded by low rolling stony, forested hills. Prolific bird life including kookaburras, magpies, rosellas and fantails. Short term camping only. Prefer you bring firewood and drinking water. Best in spring. Hot, dry and dusty in summer. Access from Ballarat [M8]: North 14k on the Midland Hwy [A300] nearly to Creswick, thence sharp right south-east along the Bungaree (Melbourne) Rd [C291] 1.8k, right south 4k on Slaty Creek Rd (gravel, narrow sections). (Slaty Cr Rd swings left just within view of the Camp Ground)
