We stayed in site 58 for 5 nights. It was level and right on the water. It was 2 levels (upper was the trailer/living area, lower was a beach). We had 2 fire rings, one on the beach. This is the moist quiet place we have ever stayed. Cell service and tv reception with antenna is good. Free cable but we were not able to get it in our trailer. Great home base to so many places! We plan to return every year!

We were very impressed with Holiday Park Campground. We requested a site in the "Woods" and were very pleased with the size of the site and it's proximity to neighbors. Many of the sites were privately owned, and it appeared many folks were there for the entire summer. The bathrooms were very clean and the beach was well kept. There was plenty of space to explore with our dogs. We would definitely recommend and hope to stay there again! I only rated it 4 stars for location due to it's location right on 31. This also led to a bit of road noise.

There are few private RV parks in Traverse City. Most of the parks are state parks with electric only and which are not financially favorable to out of state travelers – think lots of fees. So we chose Holiday as a base camp for exploring. In hindsight, we would most likely stay somewhere on or near the Leelanau Peninsula as we spent a lot of time there and on the Old Mission Peninsula. Unless you take back roads from Holiday, which is okay but slower, you have to go through downtown which can be quite congested. Mixed feelings about this park. As other have mentioned there are different sections. Some by the lake (very few and it's a tight loop with tight sites), some wooded and some (I guess the newer ones) that are pretty much out in the open but close together. There is nice greenery around but all the sites had weeds growing in the gravel. We stayed in a wooded site which was gravel, long and level. Much roomier here than any of the other sections. It was a nice space where we could easily put out our wide awnings and have plenty of room for chairs and tables. The trees provided decent coverage from the heat of the sun, and oddly, we were still able to get satellite coverage. The strange part was the placement of the fire pit. It was in the back near various objects like a tire and some other stuff that was covered with a tarp. The downsides are WII FI and noise. The WII FI was pretty useless even with our WII FI extender. It was either up or down and 90% of the time down. The noise from Highway 31 is constant and loud during the day which makes sitting outside loud. What a shame because the weather was really nice and there were very few bugs. We could also hear the thumping of music at different times of the day. We think it was coming from boats on the lake but we never quite figured it out. Our price reflects a weekly rate which is overpriced for what you get. We most likely would not stay here again.

This is one of the most pleasant and well-run campgrounds we have experienced. Our stay was off season, thus the $36 rate. During the summer season, the rates increase rather dramatically. It has a feel of a great state park only with full hook ups. There are many folks who come back year after year and others who own sites. Formerly Airstream-only, the park currently has lots of Airstreams but many other types of RVs as well.. The sites are extremely well placed, level and large. Since it is a well-established park, the landscaping and trees are mature and lovely. The restrooms and showers are well-kept and clean. Trashcans and doggie waste bag dispensers are numerous and convenient. The WiFi is typical--when few people are on, it's OK, otherwise not. The park in situated on Silver Lake and wetlands read: mosquitoes). There are numerous birds and small wildlife taking advantage of the habitat. The lake is stocked and there is fishing from the shore or by boat. Silver Lake allows motor boats and jet skis. The playground is small, but the children we saw seemed to be having a great time fishing and biking and playing around the park. We enjoyed all that Traverse City has to offer including brew pubs, good restaurants, wineries and spectacular scenery along the bays and Lake Michigan. It is a 40-minute drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore which is a must see. Suttons Bay is a cute small resort town. Leland and Fish Town preserve the fishing culture and "the way things used to be" in this corner of Lake Michigan. Leelanau and Mission Bay Peninsulas have numerous wineries and cherry orchards and make for great driving day trips. Traverse City has a spectacular old mental hospital that has been repurposed into businesses, shops, restaurants, apartments and condos. It's called The Villages and is worth a visit just for looking at the buildings if for nothing else. We had a great meal at one of the restaurants. The only downside to Traverse City is the traffic. It appears to me, an outsider, that suburban growth has outpaced the ability of the road system to handle the traffic. So watch those left-hand turns.

Super nice place. Sites were easy to get into. We were in the newer area so not a lot of shade. The bath facilities were nice and clean. The staff was friendly. Had a nice beach area along the lake.

This is a huge RV park with many owned sites that have been landscaped. We were in Traverse City for medical care and this place was wonderful. First we stayed in the 200's area which is wide open, big sites and a great dog run area. We then moved into a gorgeous spot right by the lake that was owned and landscaped. Quiet neighbors. The park is divided into 10-site "circle camps" so you don't sense the size of it. The office staff was awesome, very accommodating. Mail and package delivery.

We have a spot on the lake and it was amazing!! Highly recommend.

The campground is very nice large sites with nice fire pits placed in places that make them useful and private. Staff is helpful and willing to help. The beach looked nice but weather was cool when there so we didn’t do anything but look at it. Lots to do in this area, we will definitely stay here again if in the area.

All the previous reviews are spot on so I won't repeat them. This is a wonderful campground and we enjoyed our time here! The employees and site owners are very pleasant and work hard to keep the park looking very nice. The only negative I can say about the park is the laundry room. The washers need a serious cleaning - you can see and smell the rust inside.

We stayed here just one night taking the only site available. This is a lovely campground on the lake & beach, everything well maintained & groomed. All sites spacious with plenty of room for slide outs. The site we reserved was still occupied with previous night RVers causing some confusion but the owners took full control finding us another spot equally nice and even offered to put us up free in an overflow site if no other site became available. They really hustled & apologized profusely for the inconvenience. We will definitely stay here again.

This was our first time at this site. Some background on the site itself. Campsites are privately owned, and when owners are not using their sites, they will release them to the campgrounds to rent out. Our site was full hookup water/sewer and 50/30/20 amp power. Cable was also at our site but we did not connect to see if it worked. Fire pit was provided on the site. The site was really big, lots of room for us in our camper with plenty to spare. The site was a stone gravel which looked to be well maintained. At one point in the trip I saw someone who worked there just going around and picking up sticks from each site to keep them clean. They take garbage each day if you leave out at 10am at the front of your site. Our site was directly across from a nice playground for the kids, and we had a great view from the site and camper. There were only ~15 sites in the loop we are on, so minimal car traffic, in the center of the loop is the playground. Sites can vary because they are privately owned. Some sites have landscaping, some sites have patio areas, each site has a little different character. We enjoyed taking a walk around the campgrounds and seeing the different sites. The locations right on the water are the highest in demand, and I can see why because they are fantastic. I was working remotely from this location for the week we were there and I got a solid 3 bars of coverage on AT&T so staying connected was not a problem. There was wifi there, but it was not always dependable as it is shared bandwidth with other campers. For simple internet use, wifi was fine. The only, and I really stress the word "only" thing that kept this place from being perfect for us was its proximity to a little noisy road. It of course was quieter at night as things settled, and overall was not distracting for us, but we live in a city so we can tune that noise out easily as we are used to it, but still worth mentioning as others may be more distracted by this. If sleeping with A/C in camper, you won't hear anything. The proximity was close to grocery stores, some restaurants/food for pickup, not far from downtown, the wineries, Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc... Was a nice location if looking to visit the area. The price is higher than State Parks, but we felt it was worth it for the space, how nice the property was, and the convenience. We would certainly go again!

This is a very large, beautifully maintained, lakeside campground with many different types of sites.The campground offers significant deals in the offseason (which starts after Labor Day), so we got a gorgeous site for a very reasonable price. We lucked out with a spot in the older, heavily wooded, lakeside section of the campground. Our particular site had a separate tiered sitting area and lots of trees surrounding it. Other sections of the campground are more open, with sites lined up right next to each another. If you're coming in the offseason, our advice would be to try to get a site in one of the older, wooded loops. Fortunately, the campground is located about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Traverse City. Unfortunately, it is located on a major road. If you land a site closer to the front of the campground, you will likely hear traffic noise, and getting in and out of the campground required some patience as vehicles travel very fast down that street. On the other hand, having this beautiful, heavily wooded campsite, right next to a lake, just 20 minutes outside the wonderful Traverse City downtown was fantastic. We truly lucked out with an enormous, relatively private, waterfront site at this campground. We loved the heavily treed grounds, the numerous places to walk, and the easy access to downtown Traverse City. While I'm not sure we would pay their high season prices, we thought their offseason prices were a steal! We would definitely return here in the future.

We were allowed to check in alittle earlier than 2 pm...very clean....just alittle noisy from traffic near our site..but not real bad...would recommend...close to all the sights around Traverse City

This campground is well maintained and the bathrooms and showers were clean. The laundromat was clean and comprised of six washers and six dryers. It was $1.75/load, washing or drying. It seems to be filled with mostly permanent trailers, but all of the landscaping and grounds were well done and maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful upon check-in. My site was in the ‘wooded’ section and was level and a breeze to back into. It was a semi-private spot with full hook ups. All that being said, the WiFi was almost non-existent in my site, there is no sidewalk along the road to walk to the bathrooms or store, and it sat on what, at times, sounded like a freeway. It was disappointing for the price.
