Great family park..lots of kids..we are retired and were traveling so the park was well kept and provided a lot of amenities for kids and families. You expect lots of noise with kids so that is not a negative and we are happy to see families out and enjoying camping.very busy park and just to get a site was difficult and we ended up getting a non-electric right across from the playground.

So often COE sites are off the beaten track. We enjoyed staying here, where we were close to a large, beautiful lake and town amenities. Quick, friendly check in. Large site. Easy walk or bike ride to a local grocery, restaurants, a few shops - even a brewery. We rode bikes to The Wharf for an afternoon of appetizers, brews, and boat watching. Camp is clean and pretty quiet. I'd avoid sites 99 to 118 which are closest to the road and traffic, but if you're okay with that, no worries. Bath houses are a bit dated and could use a good scrub, but showers are free with lots of hot water. Our price reflects Sr. Pass discount. There are non-electric sites, electric sites and a few FHUs. Something for everyone.

It's no secret I love Corp of Engineers campgrounds and to top it off, I've been visiting this park for (ahem) 30 years. This is a busy summer campground on Cross Lake, reservations highly recommended if you're planners or you can scour the web for cancellations. The fee to cancel is minimal so it seems to happen often. There are both dry sites ($20) and electric only sites ($26) and a tent loop, all gravel. There are a mix of partial shade and full shade sites so check the website photos if you need solar. There are two boat launches, one makes a perfect place to watch the sunset and for the pups to swim along the shore. Mosquitoes in June were pretty intense in the more wooded sites. Sites are pretty well spaced for privacy. There are two shower houses which are well kept, water faucets are at nearly every corner in the park. There are a lot of kids in the park with two playgrounds to keep them busy along with two swim areas. Many years one beach has swimmers itch so check for notifications. The other swim area has a nice dock to swim from but no beach area to speak of. Town is a bike ride or walk away for ice cream treats, beer or groceries. Overall this is a summer vacation park with a lot of families and generally quiet in the evenings. This is a great destination for lake access and water activities but not really a destination in itself unless you want to just chill out for a while! Unboosted Verizon 4G LTE is fine. I didn't test it with streaming or anything however.

Although the sites seem a little tight due to trees, I was able to back in slowly without an issue. Only electric at site, I have 30A. Dump station is available, as is potable water. Shower houses are available but could use a bit of updating, a little crusty. There are flush toilets at the shower house, but several pit toilets throughout the camping area. My $14 rate is based on having a Sr. Card, otherwise it would be $28/night. As an old coot the COE campgrounds are my summer "go to" places based on cost (with Sr Pass) and the ability to run AC when it gets humid. There is a gas station across the street (easy walking) with fair price ($2.09/gal as of 7/12/2020) and a pub along with other little shops (breakfast, etc).
