About Lakeside Cabin

Lakeside Cabin is a beautiful, rustic self-catering cabin, set deep in in the Alpetra Nature Reserve. Tucked snugly between the South-Western fence of Welgevonden Game Reserve and the Southern fence line of Marakele National Park, Alpetra Nature Reserve allows animals to roam free, the birds to sing their sweetly songs, the mountains to stand proudly in their grandeur and the breeze to sweep mischievously through the trees. Lakeside Cabin is a unit for the adventurer – yet it is stunning. The thatched unit has canvas walls and wooden flooring with a King-size bed or twin beds if preferred. There is an outdoor double shower and outdoor “rustic toilet”. The bathroom has a donkey boiler for hot water. There is solar lighting and a lapa with wooden deck and braai facilities. The lapa area has a small gas fridge, a gas burner for boiling a kettle and is equipped with crockery and cutlery. There are no “formal” cooking facilities. Braai grids, tongs etc are supplied. There is no Wi-Fi here so why not go fishing instead. The beautiful unspoilt nature calls for enthusiasts who love nature photography, fishing and birdwatching. No dangerous animals roam around these parts, but you may come across some Nyala, Kudu, or even Bushbuck along the way.
