Lake George Escape Campgound – États-Unis

This camping ground is pleasantly forested. The spacing between some pitches can be a little tight, but it's still a lovely place. It's a primitive camping site without any utilities, and due to the large, beautiful trees, harnessing solar power to recharge your batteries might be challenging.

This park was really nice overall. It's very large with something like 300 sites. Unlike other thousand trails parks, you are assigned a spot at check in. I believe this is because there seem to be different tiers of sites for people who are paying for them, as well as a ton of long-term sites. Our site was kind of tight for our rig at 39ft and had a lot of mud/dirt and some low hanging branches, so you might want to check out your site ahead of going to park. However, the park itself was very nice. It had a large sized dog park, a river you could float or kayak down, tons of activities all week, golf carts to rent, a large store, and shuttles to Lake George Village. I would definitely return. I would suggest trying to arrive mid week if possible because the roads are pretty tight and not considered one way. As most campgrounds, it fills up on the weekend and can get a bit rough to navigate with how many people are coming in and speeding around on golf carts. The regular sites do not have sewer (although there seemed to be a newer section that had them), but there is a dump station at the park. Service for ATT wasn't great (best closest to the main office), but I was able to work ok with some trouble during video calls. I also tried going into town to get better service, but it was spotty there as well. (2.49 download, 0.2 upload)

One note though, the back of our site was COVERED in poison ivy, which I didn't realize until I was also covered in rashes, so keep an eye out. I would definitely return. This is a nice campground that is within walking distance of the major attractions in Lake George. The campground staff are very friendly and keep the campsites clean. We stayed in site 16 but the other sites towards the rear of the campground are quieter. The bathhouse is very nice and they have good hot showers. The sites have no electricity or water hook ups.

Site 16 is one of the larger sites, 20 also. Near the front of the campground the noise is loud. Nice you can exit the back of the CG and get to the state park picnic area and large grass park. Right across the road is a dog beach. Easy walking to town. Free wood. Nice bathrooms and showers. New visitor center out the back of the CG past the dump station. Only one dump. Million dollar beach was closed probably opening Memorial Day. Charge at CG was $5 more for out of state people. Had to show rabies certificate for our two puppies.
