This is a Harvest Hosts site now. I wasn't sure what I was getting into from reading the prior reviews, but this place is great! The site is essentially a dirt (sand) road turned into a long parking lot for Furnace Town, flanked by trees & a preserve. You can hear some road noise but it's not frequent. When I pulled in, a nice woman named Claudia came out and asked if I was HH member. After chatting for a couple of minutes, she offered to let me stay even though I'm not a HH member! The only requirement was to park close to the Exit which was very easy and mostly level. I didn't get to head in and see Furnace Town because of Hurricane Ian heading this way, so I needed to get on the road earlier than planned.

We stayed 2 years ago and were welcome. 1 year ago we arrived late and parked and were awoken in the early AM by someone pounding on the door saying that we needed to belong to the nature conservancy or something similar and register ahead of time and we had to leave right away.

Super quiet. 2 other RVs when I stayed. Worth the visit to small historical town. Nice hard sand and flat parking area.

Had a peaceful stay in the large lot nestled in a tall pine grove. Woke up and wandered around the historic Furnace Town site with a wonderful history all clearly marked with stories at each pint of interest. Great find.
