This resort is right on the river with plenty of easy access. Our sites, #43, 45, &46 were beautifully located on the river but very small! No privacy between neighbors. The restrooms are all very clean with free showers. Also very dog friendly with grass areas that pets are welcome on.

One night stay, June2nd. We were just passing through traveling down the Hwy 49, but this is definitely a vacation destination for most people staying here. It's extremely busy when school gets out. It was blazing hot when we were there so we appreciated our little sliver of a shady site #H. It was close to the great swimming pool which we enjoyed. This is a huge resort campground with many different camp sites, cabins, tiny houses, trailers, etc to rent. Lots of clean bathrooms scattered around too. When you turn off Hwy 49 to get here you will cross over a historic one lane bridge over the American River. Kinda fun, but you have to wait your turn as it's the only way to come and leave this campground. Poor WiFi, and weak cell coverage. Very quiet after 10pm and there were many large groups of youth ( thankfully not too close) staying here during our short stay. We enjoyed our stay with all the anemities offered, but it's not really our "thing" as far as camping goes.

We had both an RV site and a cabin for two families with a teen and two tweens. Cabin was cute, clean and comfortable, with very clean shared bathrooms nearby. RV site was level, but small and had no privacy or separation from neighbors. But most campers had small kids and 10pm quiet hour was enforced- no loud late partiers. Dump station onsite but most sites have full hookups. There were some trees and lawns but the resort could use more - it was dusty and some sites lacked trees or greenery of any kind. The best feature was location! Right on the American River, with great tubing on site, rafting outfitters next door, and the Sutters Mill gold discovery state park across the street.

Sight was level and clean. Enough space to maneuver and back in. Our site 57 was right along the river and had 50 amp service with water. Water would taste a little funky from time to time even with a carbon filter. Sight 58 right next to us was very narrow. If you are still under Covid restrictions be sure to get ALL of your party confirmed at least 48 hours before arriving. We almost has a catastrophe but were able to work out our situation with the staff. We went fly fishing and river access was easy. We would go back again. Especially during the season we do not need to catch and release. The WiFi is like most connections. If you get up early you have very good connection speed. Once everyone wakes up and starts using the same service the speed drops off. Dump station can get crowded when leaving. We can dump at home so just went on our merry way. That would not stop us from going again. Probably the worst thing is you have to go across a one lane bridge to arrive and depart. The bridge is wide enough but in the afternoons there are lots of tourists that just meander across and block your ability to go. I've posted a photo so you can see what the challenge is.
