I made it to a nature retreat for a couple of days. The campsite was uniquely captivating. Every utility was functioning perfectly, and the washroom was neat and tidy. The scenery was breathtaking—I even caught sight of a dolphin in the canal! The soothing sounds of frogs and rainfall lulled me to sleep. The campsite managers were extremely hospitable and graciously accepted my eleventh-hour booking. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit!

In the middle of January, we lodged at this location for a span of four evenings. The total cost per night was calculated by including any booking fees and elderly discounts. The area allocated to us was sufficiently spacious for our vehicle and 22-foot trailer. The sites didn't offer much seclusion, mainly opening up to a central green field. The site manager was pleasant. It was enjoyable to observe the vessels on the ICW, including a barge pulling lengthy pipes. There was a footpath at the rear of the camping ground. While we spent our time relaxing here, it would serve as an excellent base for exploring Charleston.

A serene, petite camping area is situated a short distance from Charleston. The boat ramp was scarcely utilized due to the chilly and misty weather.

Stayed here for a few nights. RV sites with water and electric are 28$. Tent sites are only 20$. We parked our van in the parking space of the tent sites and it was perfect. Very nice camphosts as well! About 40 mins drive to Charleston.

Great quiet campground along the Intracoastal Waterway. Beautiful scenery overlooking marshes. Free gun range with 10 miles.

Nice place to stay directly on the Intercoastal Waterway if you want to fish, kayak, watch luxury boats slide by, or watch birds. I’m a hiker though so was disappointed over the lack of trails. The campground loop is wide open offering no landscaping or privacy. I have two dogs and needed to change my site for their comfort. The Camp Host informed me that to switch to an empty unreserved site, I’d have to pay for two sites, the site I originally booked as well as the new site. In my 2 1/2 years of full time camping, that was a first.

Only 14 RV sites and 5 tent sites. The boat ramp keeps busy, especially on weekends, but we were in Site 1, the closest to the ramp, and the early morning boat launches did not disturb us at all. Right on the Intracoastal Waterway, with a National Wildlife Refuge across the water and a half mile of trees between you and the highway. It was very quiet and peaceful. You can see all the campsites, but they are spaced out so that it doesn't feel crowded. Sites are paved, long, and level. Hookups are convenient. The dump station is oddly placed at the far end, and prevents you from driving to the trash dumpster if it is in use. Downtown Charleston is only 30-40 minutes away down U.S. 17. We will definitely return.

While the weather is cold here, the bathhouse is unheated with warm water. The bathhouse remained with building vents open with the wind blowing thru. Sites are even. Right on the canal. Trails in the forest outside the cg. Electric and water. Walmart 20 minutes away.

We stayed in site 11, which did not require us to level the camper at all. As mentioned there is no sewage at any of the sites, but there’s a very nice dump station very close. The campground hosts seem to rove about all day cleaning up the grounds and making sure equipment is in good order. We will be back again to this wonderful out-of-the-way campground close to Charleston.

We enjoyed this spot. We decided to stay here as we were checking out Charleston, SC and it provided everything that we needed. View of the water is nice, nice and quiet, plenty of room between spaces, flush toilets and free showers! They have tent options that you can park and walk a little bit to for 20 bucks a night or the water and electric for 28. We opted for the power and liked this option because we could pay for a site, head into town and beach, and know that we still had a spot to come back to. Bathrooms were clean as well as the showers. Water was warm… not too hot or cold, normally this is great, but I was hoping for a colder shower because it was so hot and humid it would have been a nice way to cool off. Still very nice benefit of the campground though for sure. Camp host was very nice. One thing to note is that recreation.gov said there were walk ups available and when we got there there is a sign that says campground full… there still may be sites available you just need to drive through and look which ones are not reserved for the day. Would stay here again for sure. Feel free to check out our full review on YouTube - Chasing the Open Road 😁

A relaxing and peaceful place to camp. The sites aren't that private but they're spread out enough that it doesn't really matter. My husband and I worked while we were here using both Verizon and AT&T service with no problems and no MIMO antenna needed for streaming, video calls, etc. They're all good sites, but if you can get one facing the water I recommend it for the views. It only has 1 main trail to walk on, but it's still a nice walk!

Very quiet as it is March, but this lil camping area was beautiful. Spaced out, adequate facilities and full 50 amp/freshwater hookups. My spot faced the waterway and marsh land. Didn’t get to enjoy a sunrise due to weather, but the grounds, benches and area is set up to enjoy the view. Easy access, sites are level and fresh drinking water is also provided in the dump access area Lots of gnats so come prepared

we are here for 3 nights. There are only 14 rev sites. All are very spacious and the asphalt pads were super level and wide. The bathrooms were the only disappointment,They seemed clean but were in need of updating. The hot water was just warm enough for a shower. Several hikes and bike trails that left right from the campground.

This is a great campground right on the intercoastal waterway. There are only 14 spots (plus a couple tent only spots) and they are very spacious. With so few campers the entire campground is quiet and calm. There is easy access to the intercoastal waterway for kayaking or boating. The fishing off the campground bank isn't great but we saw lots of people coming back to the boat ramp with coolers of redfish and trout. There are also public oyster beds nearby where you can collect your own. The bathhouse is just ok and a needs a major upgrade. The hot water in the shower was just barely hot enough -- probably to discourage people from talking long showers. :-) The pads are asphalt but the sites are fine gravel which ends up getting tracked into your rig. I had to sweep almost daily. We would definitely go back. The sunrises were amazing. Note -- the closest grocery store is about 15-20 miles away so it's not easy to dash out for something you forgot.
