Öland, Sweden

About five hours by car or 50 minutes by air, Öland is where people go to relax and recharge. While the main town, Borgholm, does like to throw a party, the rest of the island is made of up windswept beaches, remote farmland, bird sanctuaries and plenty of flea markets.

Kustlinjen, Sweden

The Göta Canal, Sweden

Commonly called Sweden’s greatest feat of engineering, the Göta Canal is a 190-kilometer-long waterway that dates from the early 19th century. The canal links Stockholm in the northeast to Gothenburg in the southwest. Along this canal there are a total of 47 bridges and 58 locks.
