Clonbinane
Well equipped and attractive campsite in Mount Disappointment State ForestThe Andersons, after which this campground was named were and old gold mining familyBeing reasonably close to Melbourne, this campsite is quite popular during the busy season.
Mumbannar
Pleasant riverside camp views of the winding gorge of the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. Two fenced, segregated sites at road end Bush setting with reasonable shade from Yellow Gums over short grass. Wrens, rosellas and other birds plentiful. Spring brings wildflowers and orchids.
Nichols Point
Dispersed bush camping on pleasant grassed beaches by the Murray River surrounded by flood plain forest - River Red Gums, billabongs and swamps. Odd BBQs and tables have disappeared = no facilities. Very distant traffic noise. Prolific bird life and occasional cattle grazing. Rated 4.
Blue Mountains National Park
Among low bush and scribbly gums, this is a very attractive campsite close enough to Sydney for a quick nature fix. The camp sites are fairly level and mostly grass. There is a fire pit and picnic table at each campsite.
Anglers Rest
Large, open campground on the banks of the Cobungra River. The river here is quite attractive and offers anglers and kayakers a place to play.
Bodalla
This camping area is in the Eurobodalla National Park not far from Moruya on the shore of the shallow Lake Brou. A short walk brings you out onto the un-patrolled beach - for fishing, swimming and boarding. Lots of walks around the area through the bush or along the beach. No fires are permitted.
Glenluce
Bush camping (no facilities) on the banks of the Loddon River. Most of the site is a cleared level paddock, well grassed but open to the road and shaded by one fir tree. May be boggy when wet.
Kalimna West
A pleasant, secluded picnic ground in a forested creek valley surrounded by low ridges. Well off the highway and the forest road, but expect day picnickers Gravelled and level car park, grassed grounds surrounded by log barriers. Creek may be dry.

Burrowye
A large river-side reserve, with a grassed open paddock by the road and tiered river flats by the river where white trunked Manna Gums, willow and wattle provide some shade to grassed sites. Features long pebbly river beaches and a pleasant rural outlook.
Dartmoor
Pleasant, extended, well grassed flats by the Glenelg River. Good shade from River Red Gums. Rating 4. 18/5 Jetty Major Mitchell established a base camp here while taking his boats down the Glenelg. Thus the common name Fort 0'Hare. Now a popular canoe launching point.
Ophir
Dispersed bush camping alongside a creek, with free gold. Ophir was a Gold Rush settlement, and a pan can bring back a bit of colour from the Lewis Ponds and Summer Creek. Great fun for the kids. There are quite a few spots to camp, some only accessable by 4wd.
Drik Drik
Two segregated, attractive small grassed clearings overlooking the wide and deep lower Glenelg River. The parking bays are short, narrow and slope - designed for tent camping. Bush setting with good of shade from Yellow and Red Gums, backed by Brown Stringybark forest. Bird life prolific.
Briagolong
This is a popular swimming and picnic area not far from Briagolong in Briagolong State ForestThere are large shady campsites, a sheltered picnic area and rubbish bins provided. The creek near here is fairly shallow but the water is cool and clear and suitable for (supervised) children to swim in.
A large flat camping area in the pine forests (slash pines) near the Watagan MountainsThis campground is very spacious and shady with wide open areas kept free from undergrowth by the large pine trees (these were planted as a trial in the 1920s).
Lithgow
Camping on the edge of Lake Lyell, suitable for caravans and with powered sites. This is a large grassy area with campsites available on the waters edge. There is a good quality boat ramp, and a jetty which makes launching and loading the family easier.
Jugiong
A very large donation-fee showground campground, with Murrumbidgee fishing opportunities on one side, and a rest area at the other. The more peaceful campsites are on the far side of the sportsfield besides the river, away from the constant traffic to the rest area.
Little Desert
A large grassed campground in Little Desert National Park set among MalleeThere are picnic tables and Bush camping is also permitted in the Central and Western Blocks of the park. There are marked walks from the campground, with brochures available from the information stand.
Barramunga
Very pleasant valley camp by the small Gellibrand River. About half the sites are well shaded by groves of different furs, other sites are open with a scattering of oaks, pears, plums and apples. All sites level, well grassed (mown by kangaroos). Dogs on leads. Rated at 4.
