I mean … $20 to me seems a bit steep for zero amenities. you’re just paying for a place to park your ride. the view is stunning though. personally i’d travel further south and pay for a campsite where you at least get a bathroom/shower/firepit/garbage disposal/etc.

Pulled into the lot and at first was taken away by the beauty. Around 1:30 am our car alarm started going off. Opened the window to our trailer and I saw a guy off in the distance running away. I’m even more surprised because the parking lot is very full here. I would say I’d come back but let’s be honest. This is a one and done for me here.

I have to say it…..this being listed on Campendium has negatively impacted this camping spot. We have been staying here off and on for years. The 20.00 a night is the cost it is not “optional” . This is privately owned. Pay the fee. There is a camp host and he is the son of the owner of. the property and a good guy the problem is some of the RVs that stay here and the curious who wander in. We had people just park and come walking in front of us just to “check it out because we saw it on Campendium.” Well lets have some etiquette. COVID-19 seems to put people in the RV life who have not researched the etiquette and how to respect others and the land use. If you stay here pay the money, don’t dump your grey water and just follow good etiquette. Simple….or it should be. This will be another place closed due to abuse if it doesn’t change.

Great spot! Big rigs ok if lot isn’t full. I got here at 5pm on a Saturday and there were only two trailers parked. There is a port next to the lot but it was quiet when I was there. It’s a bit tricky to find off the main road…just follow the Campendium map NOT your iPhone map because it’s not shown. There is a volunteer $20 donation slot at the parking lot entrance next to the mailbox. There are payment envelopes that ask for your vehicle type and license plate number. There are no services here so plan accordingly. No electric, no water, no sewer, no trash. The lot is mostly gravel and uneven in spots, but great in a pinch.

Stopped here for a night on my way south. Gravel lot with ocean view on one side and nice little beach below. Great place to hang out and excercise the dogs. A resident told me it used to be called dog beach. Great stopover.

We had been staying at Cape Blanco for a few days. Feeling a bit claustrophobic with the CG 100% full and dense trees and non stop rain. I have driven through Port Orford 100 times but when I read about this “parking spot” I was intrigued. It’s Spring Break and (2) other self contained RVs are parked here. It’s just a dirt parking lot BUT a million dollar view!!! And easy to walk into town for dining and shopping. Things are slow here. And I’m loving it! We’re here end of March week of Spring Break but town feels sleepy and sweet. We can hear the waves and it’s quite peaceful. Little beach at base of hill next to small Port with fishing vessels. Was very windy and sunny 🌞 but we didn’t mind at all. Wind died down after sunset. It’s a special little spot and I hope campers continue to respect and treasure this spot.
