A large open woodland area adjacent to historic Maldon, at the base of Mt Tarrengower.
Dispersed camping in the open gully behind the day area. Some shade from scattered Manna (Ribbony) Gum, Yellow Gum, Broad-leaved Peppermint and Grey Box over grass and granite boulders. Much of the area slopes and is a little scruffy. The formed access road up the gully can be rutted after rain runoff. Extensive plantings of trees and shrubs around the day area and on the surrounding ridges will improve the visual aspect. Rated 3.3/5 There are 5 well shaded tables and fireplaces in the day area (not signposted as such) with level, fenced parking bays, separated by shrubs. Dogs on lead at all times. Walking tracks to historic gold mining relics. Visit historic Maldon, climb or drive to Mt Tarrengower (570m) lookout.
