32 acre park located just off Hwy 17 S on SC 162. Close to Historic Charleston, the Aquarium, Ft. Sumter, Patriots Point, Magnolia Plantation, Middleton Place, golf & beaches. 87 shaded, mostly pull-thru, RV sites with 30/50 amp service, pool, lake, fishing, and free wireless internet. 27 tent sites on the lake. Dump station, fire rings, store, pets ok, handicap accessible, credit cards accepted.

Our quaint water and electric spot, which was adjacent to a pond inhabited by turtles and ducks, was a delight! Not only did the site have a picnic table and fire pit, but the staff was also fantastic. The saltwater pool, although not the largest, was incredibly pleasant and had ample seating. The laundry facility was satisfactory, equipped with four washers/dryers and a coin-operated machine. Nearby the other pond, there were hammocks, a communal BBQ area, picnic tables, a pavilion, and a beautifully wooded walking path. The newly paved drive-through sites are almost finished and they look impressive. We utilized our Passport America for a discount ($138 for a four-night stay, tax included, at a 30amp back-in water/electric only site), but even without it, the regular rates were the best we found in Charleston. We didn't use the WiFi, but both Verizon and T-mobile signals were decent. We'll surely make an effort to stay here again when we're passing through Charleston! The location is conveniently a few miles away from Publix, WalMart, and numerous eateries. Do note that there is a train that passes by, but it's not close enough to be overly disruptive.

The campsite we visited is currently undergoing expansion and it's quite lovely. The addition of freshly paved spots will undoubtedly enhance the overall experience. Some of our companions were bothered by the sound of passing trains, but we found it quite enjoyable. The campsite was beautifully adorned for the holiday season. The pull-through sites were of a decent size and well-maintained. We would certainly consider returning for another stay. It's conveniently located near Charleston and approximately an hour's drive from Beaufort. There's an abundance of activities to do around the area, making it nearly impossible to feel bored.

Didnt have the site with sewer even though we reserved months in advance. Online photos are far to generous for the condition of this place. This is the 8th park we’ve stayed at on this journey. This is by far the worst.

We enjoyed our location near the pond. We had a Neigbor on the left and on the right side, but they were distanced well apart. We chose a spot 30AMP w/o sewer and did just fine. We could still use the dump station upon our leave. The place is very dog friendly and has lots of bags and walk around. It looked secluded from the outside world too! For internet we use Starlink and it was above 100mbps.

Do to this campground having an issue with poor drainage driveway we called two days prior to arrival but they said all was good. The driveway was not flooded when we got there but the potholes did show that they do have issues. Upon setting up on our site we could see they were expanding the campground..right behind our site. The first night there our "neighbor" said someone broke the laundry change machine off the wall the night before we arrived and of course we were right next to it. Security is weak at this campground. For most of the eleven days we stayed here two excavators, dump trucks and trailers worked within 50 feet of our camper. It have been real nice to have told in advanced, but that didn't happen. I swear they only ever go backwards based upon the continuous backup alarms. The dust was unbelievable from the equipment and their dirt roads. It seems as though much of the campground is full time residents with stuff everywhere on their sites. The only blessing of this construction equipment was it drowned out the truck jake brakes at the stop light, the train whistles at the road and the landing jets a a nearby airport. In case you're wondering we did get a Good Sam discount but nothing more for the construction front row seat. The bathrooms were outdated but clean and the laundry was $3.50 to wash and $.25/8 minutes to dry. Water pressure at site outlet was 62 lbs.

We have lived in Charleston for 7 years. Recently moved to full time RV living but Charleston will always be a go to spot for us. There are not many campgrounds in the CHS area so we REALLY wanted to like Lake Aire. We especially wanted to like it because the staff is very nice and you can tell they are trying to fix the issues people complain about - mainly the poor drainage. Sadly, it’s not enough and the “fixes” create other issues. We were there for the month of Oct ‘21. There was one very heavy downfall. Our site drained fairly quickly (2days) but the dirt road behind us took over 10 days. The next rainfall they were out there physically draining the puddles into the pond which helped, but all the roads are quite rutted. The sites are very tight esp with both of our vehicles there. When outside we felt we were in a box bw 2 RV and both vehicles. To help with the drainage they have a lot of large gravel. Problem with that was I, and many others we talked to, we’re constantly rolling on the gravel. It also made it uncomfortable even with the rug down. It want a very friendly park. Mostly people stayed very much to themselves. And the area with the full timers felt more uncomfortable than any other place we stayed. The pool was in very good shape. There’s a pretty pond and small creeks for the kids to fish.

This is a convenient, clean, well kept campground with lots of little extra touches. The biggest downfall may be the bugs if you like to be outside. Quiet for the most part, but frequent trains. A lovely pool and other facilities. They even have a few hammocks to relax in. When I asked about the availability of Uber/Lyft to get to Magnolia Plantation I was told it was spotty. The nice lady at the front desk offered to take us if we couldn’t get a ride. We were able to get Uber on 2 consecutive days. The downside on this campground may be the dirt road in. Dusty.

THE GOOD FIRST:the bathroom were very clean!! They have a nice little pool They have a laundry facility Dog friendly with many poop bags and this made the park very clean. Never saw any poop. Cute little ducks and a fishing catch release pond. Nice short wooded walking trail. No sketchy people at all. Good streaming reception. THE BAD: the gravel drive was terrible! It rained one night and it was not puddles, but ponds. It’s so bumpy and needs two truck loads of gravel minimum. THE LESSON: we booked a reservation for thu- fri. They had nothing for Saturday except tent camping. We took that for one night and moved to the full hook ups the following morning. We assumed the tent site would be where the tents were. Instead they told us to park in a parking lot and charged us 26.00$ for nothing. They are overall, over priced for what you get unless they improve the sites and I’ll was a bite put off with the “tent” camp site. There were many that we could have parked in but they put us in the middle of a parking lot for 26.00! If you need to do that just go to Walmart for free. The sites are very small and could be maintained better. Holes low spots and the gravel is sharp and big. So no barefoot.

Sites were gravel and could have been maintained a little better. Especially the gravel road into the site from the registration office. It was wash-board rough with some large swale holes. I will say they were dragging the road every day but not making a lot of progress. Thee was good separation from the full-timers part of the park but some of those sites were pretty messy. Some train noise. The overall scenery down towards the lake at the park was nice and the laundry/restrooms were very clean. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Bottom line for us was that it was not a 55/night site. A price of higher 30s would be more appropriate.

Some sites more gravel others more grass. Ours was more gravel which was lucky as it was a rainy week and the road behind our rig remained a lake. The actual lake was nice with a flock of friendly ducks and fishing for kids. Laundry efficient and pool looked nice. A few miles to grocery and about 30 min to historical area of Charleston. WiFi worked well. Check in was easy.
