What an amazing camping ! We stayed here for (just) one week in July with our two daughters of 5 and 8. The moment you enter the area your mouth drops it's simply gorgeous !!! We reserved a pitch at the river meaning you hear the river streaming 24/7 very calming : ) The ground is almost gravel like so a good tent-carpet (we had a foam one with little holes) is a must. You have plenty of space for your car and the tent. You have enough privacy and the overall attitude of all the other campers is so relaxed they leave you be which is very nice, no noise, no loud music, the campsite insists on this. For kids it is amazing, for all campers since it is a small camping the 'included' beach is just a little walk. No sand but kick ass pebbles that were also good for building dams etc. kids get very creative with them. The water is the freshest ever see-through sometimes blueish and a little chilly. Bring some nice towels or a little mat cause the pebbles are not the most comfy...they do lend sunbeds (maybe little charge) There is a trampoline and a little wooden playground. Also a rest/bar with nice smoothies and simple food. One friday there was a nice band playing live : ) Tap water is drinkable ! So save a few bottles and fill them it's very fresh without the bleach smell. Sanitary is verrrry clean, gets cleaned a lot and toilet paper is always fully loaded so no need to embarrass yourself with toilet rolls... You can order fresh bread every day at the reception to be picked up in the morning, prices are very reasonable. The reception has a cute little shop with only the necessary items, some cheese and meat for your bread. I suggest hitting the big supermarket before arrival cause the closest one is about 40 min away, the scenery to get there is priceless though... Recommend this to everyone who likes the outdoors, silence (no wifi, payed if wanted) and away from hectic daily life. Recommended places to visit : Wolf reserve Loups du gevaudan (1.10 hour drive) Canoeing for whole day, closest company 10 min (we did a 2 hour tour which took us all day with a lot of stops, you see a lot of the tarn and its scenery) La Malene little cute village (9 min) has restaurants and bars and is not expensive at all. And many more but we only had one week, next year 2 or 3 weeks !
