Our arrival was late and the experience was terrible. They assigned us a location at the very edge, near a severe bend, partially obstructed by a permanent resident's vehicle. It would have been preferable to be given any of the many spaces in our line that weren't located near such a dangerous bend with an obstruction at the entrance. The door to the ladies' restroom doesn't close properly, resulting in chilly temperatures. The water pressure is below average. All we required was a brief stay with electricity. I would advise against arriving after sunset. Finding your designated area is quite challenging and the sites lack clear signage.

We didn t expect much from this cheap vintage rv park, but what a pleasant surprise when we found our campsite surrounded by a majestic oak forest, horse ranch, totally silent nature surroundings, immaculate heated bathrooms. All we cared for was top notch. If you are looking for a safe overnight stay that matches state parks environment and amenities, this is your best bet.

I needed a place to dump my tanks, I had previously been boondocking, and happened to come here. I couldnt pay to just dump so I decided to stay 1 night. When attempting to dump my black and rinse the tank the water hose connection sprayed all over me because the connection was all jacked up and need repair. Got to the campsite I was assigned and the site beside me was a dumpster fire of a camper with mold all over it and a broken awning hanging half off. I called the office and asked if I could move and I did. The site I moved to had the same issue with the water connection as the dump station. I tested my equipment and it was fine. They do have several sections and some are a step up from the others. Definitely do a drive by your site before you commit because you could be next to several of the full timers that literally have falling apart campers.

Sites were ok enough, some in full shade, some in full sun. The one good thing is their wifi is outstanding. Laundry was terrible, old machines and dryers didn't work. One dryer was out of order, the second dryer didn't dry at all. Ended up just talking all our wet laundry and driving to a laundromat to dry out clothes. When I asked for money back, they made me feel like a second class citizen. They did give me money for the one dryer that was broken, but they said the other dryer worked fine. No, it didn't dry at all. Also had a "hot skin" condition when we plugged in. Asked them to look at their breaker panel, and to my knowledge no one ever came to look at it. I suspect they have the neutral bones to the ground or some other weird thing. Our unit is 5 months old and we've never experienced this at any other park. Pretty disappointed

After setting up our camper and settling in we turned the A/C in to remove the humidity from the camper. Shortly after the A/C kicked on it mixed back off. We have a Watchdog surge protector and my husband checked and the power was fluctuating a lot. He unplugged it and reset things and it did it again. So he connected our shore power and we used that- it was fine. We were only there one night passing through. Since it was a great evening/night, we just slept with the windows open. The next morning my husband told the campground staff the problem was we shouldn’t t have used the surge protector. WHAT??!! Not a chance. We were so surprised they said that. Not something we were willing to do or chance. Our site was just OK otherwise. It was supposed to be a pull through, but no way that it was. We had to back in, which was fine, but we opted for a pull through because we knew we would be arriving in the dark. There were a lot of full time campers and you could tell someone had been on our site long term before- as there were divots in the asphalt from their stabilizers. We will opt for a different campground next time.

We were looking for a campsite for one night when tidal flooding on the Chesapeake caused a change of plans on our trip. The staff here were very accommodating and were able to fit us into a water and electric only site for one night. The property this campground reside upon seem to be a large family parcel with horse boarding and riding facilities. It has many amenities catering to families, like miniature golf, playgrounds, fitness center and recreation room. The office and checkin are at the front of the property. After entering through a gate with the code given to us at check in we drove through the expansive property toward the campground. On the way you pass through an RV storage lot with has to be nearly 500 boats, trailers and other RVs parked. You reach the campground after about a half mile from the entry gate. We were in what appeared to be the oldest section of the campground. The hookups were serviceable, but definitely showed their age. Roads and pads are gravel throughout, but well maintained. There was laundry facilities, but they were constantly in use while we were there. This may have been due to one of two washing machines being out of order. Trash and recycling containers were located near the entry gate. A camp store/office is staffed until 7 pm each night.

I don't know where to start. We needed a place to stay while the nearby Cummins place emptied out wallet. We picked it because it was near the dealer. What a surprise we will be coming back for a week soon. Too many ++ to list but here are some. Right up against the Dismal Swamp canal, a historical area that sheltered many runaway slaves before the Civil war. Kayaks, canoes and Johnboats are available to explore this canal which had nearly disappeared at one time. This is the best kind of family place in the old tradition. Pony rides petting zoo. Many horses. many wooded sites 30, 50 or 0 amps Sewer or not. Tenting or big rig room Pull thorough Dump station chapel exercise room paved roads and sites Well cared for campgrounds mini golf RV storage. 2 pools Laundry Pavilion to rent. WiFi 2 and 5k
