Zumsteins , Victoria
An old timber-mill site in the flat hung valley of the Mackenzie River, above Mackenzie Falls. Good shade provided by pines and Stringybark, surrounded by a Stringybark forest with a thick understory of tea tree. Can be popular, sharing of fireplaces may be necessary. Tap & 'bush shower'. Rated 3.

Situated on a flat plain above the Glenelg RiverMost sites are segregated by bush, reasonably level and well grassed (mown by kangaroos). Bush setting with plenty of shade from Brown Stringybark Gum and wattle. Spring brings wildflowers and orchids.
Lake Lonsdale , Victoria
Rather dry bush camping (no facilities) in open, level woodland near the lake. Reasonable shade from scattered Yellow Gums and River Red Gums on grass covered sand with an understory of wattles.

A very pleasant, attractive, quiet camp. One of the best camps in Western Victoria. Each of the 5 well dispersed sites has a table, BBQ and pit fireplace, small level parking and are well shaded by large Messmate and Blue Gums: wet sclerophyll forest similar to the Dandenongs. Rated 4.

Very attractive forested valley camping near Jimmy Creek and bubbling Wannon River. Semi-dispersed sites around a circuit road. Some sites are large, others best suit tent camping, all are level with short grass. Good shade from tall Southern Blue Gum and wattles. Bush shower Rated 4.

A ridge top fenced paddock, very open (most sites without shade), gently sloping with bumpy tussock grass and some holes. A poor, scruffy camp. Potentially hot and dusty in summer. Dam water. There are caravan only sites and a grassed area for tent based camping.

A very quiet forested camp near a lovely beach. Situated in tall forest 500m from a small cove and behind a rocky, heath covered headland. Specific sites are reasonably separated by bush. Good shade from tall Silvertop Ash and Red bloodwood with a thin understory of melaleuca and scrub.

A pleasant old sawmill clearing (partially revegetated) sheltered in a forested valley near the bubbling Little River. There are groups of scattered sites, semi-secluded by bush and distance, designed mainly for car/tent camping, however small caravans and campervans will fit.

Pleasant, level, grassed and shaded sites just below the scoria slopes of Mt Eccles. Originally named Mt Eeles by Major Mitchell. Sites vary in size, are semi-dispersed over a large area of bush, most share the 10 BBQs and taps, 2 toilet blocks (1 with hot showers).
Mount Franklin , Victoria
An unusual site, being located inside a volcano crater. The pine tree covered crater rim provides good wind protection. A range of mainly exotic trees provide ample shade and, together with short green grass, a park-like atmosphere. Bird life is limited.

A spacious reserve backed by the steep granite slopes of Mount Korong (364m). The small quiet picnic area (1 table) is level, grassed over granite with thin shade from a couple of large Yellow Gum and surrounded by wattle scrub. Rated 4.

A very pleasant, green, quiet camp situated on a large extended level creekside flat. Short green grass (mown), some shade from willows, black wattles and gums. Located in a narrow mountain valley surrounded by steep sclerophyll forested slopes - mainly peppermint and white trunked Manna Gum.
Nug Nug , Victoria
A large, level grassed reserve by the Nug Nug Wa Creek, shaded by large plane trees and other exotics. Bush camping over Creek. Controlled by a local committee who collects fees. Maintenance declines over winter (grass may be long). Tennis Courts. Cold sowers. Rated 3.
Werribee , Victoria
An attractive, small, level site in a well forested gully by the bubbling upper Werribee River. Well shaded by Messmate and Peppermint, surrounded by forested rolling hills with little undergrowth. 2 BBQs and benches. Rated 4. 2/5 A convenient late night stop when escaping Melbourne.
